I can’t believe the pilot didn’t land this plane a whole lot sooner than he did. He knew there was a problem with the elevator but decided to fly around at full power anyway. Dumb!!

With all the trouble that was happening, he should have landed to inspect. I know hindsight blah blah... and it's always easy to play Monday morning Q.B... but it's a good rule to follow.

Ok, everybody's got a 20/20 hindsight, but, if I realized there was something wrong with my plane, I'd-a landed ASAP and fixed it before flying again...

Oh no! This is the plane that one my workbench right now. That take-off might have predicted the failure... Always a shame to see something that this gentleman spent so much time and energy building - destroyed in an instant. Anyone that has built a kit knows what I'm talking about...

Why the $#@!@!@%$$ didn't you land it as soon as a sign of trouble showed up? That's way too nice a plane to take those chances and keep flying. Somebody is getting paid way to much money for his own good.

I enjoyed this video very much but i didnt enjoy seeing your plane come down. I have a super frontier senior which is a twin brotger if the sig kadet senior, a plane that is slightly bigger than your senorita. Did you ever get the plane fixed? I know that crash happened a few years ago now, but just wondering what happened to the plane?

Most of the damage was done by tossing the plane around in a temper tantrum.

It will fly again. Next time it will have a better radio receiver and aileron upgrade,

That one was difficult to watch. Taking off with someone mowing the runway? Then clearly identified control issues. Then fly around under acceleration toward people on the ground.
I’ve had my mishaps in my days of RC flying. Some harsh lessons learned.
I had 4, 10 minute flights in one day. Had a way to check my then ni-cad receiver batteries but did not know anything about testing power under load at the time.
Took off with several spectators in the area as well as several other club members flying.
After several minutes of normal flight I noticed a glitch in control.
I put the plane down immediately.
Upon landing I turned around and brought the plane back closer to me.
That was the last time the plane was intact.
It shot straight toward the area all the spectators were just standing several minutes before.
Thankfully they had all left the area. Also thankful for the T-posts that were driven into the ground good.
The t-posts shredded the plane and the engine was still running wide open throttle when it separated from the fuselage and drug the fuel tank out with it walking the prop across the ground for another 50 or so feet before stopping.
That could have been a disaster and it shook me up.
The elderly club members helped me to gather all of my parts and we went through everything to try and figure out the issue.
That’s when I learned about load testing batteries before flight.
This hobby is fun. Just takes attention to detail.

Had me worried for minute, thought you weren't going to repair the simple damage, but I see you got it back together. Such a wonderful flying plane.

The plane is not destroyed and still flies better that ever. th-cam.com/video/w59vNbbEzbo/w-d-xo.html I hear a lot of he could- have done this or that in the comments and yes I should have landed sooner. The issue was found out to be caused by a sporadic brown out of the receiver. Both times that it glitched there was no response from the aircraft. The aircraft was prone to odd flying behavior on a known good radio and receiver in the past so during the flight I thought it was that issue, which was manageable. It's now is on a better radio/rec, has small ailerons and flies very well despite being ugly, lol.

Motor was way to lean, should have landed when you lost signal the first time. Sad to see it go in.
