I like how Winston knew Marquis was a coward but had an ego. So he stroked his ego by basically telling him he could be the man who finally killed John Wick thus forcing the Marquis to accept the challenge.
Yeah cause without that Marquis would of been too much of a coward to face John wick in a duel- hell, even then he tried getting out of it later with Kane starting the duel as his second.
But he also gave him the opportunity to settle the matter peacefully but the video cut some dialog, basically he gave him the chance to take John wick back onto the fold( under the table) and appear as a figure of peace and reason but The marquee wanted to make a name for himself and rejected the option.
When you actually HATE a villain in a movie, you know they’re fking killing the role. Like commodus in “gladiator.” The Skarsgårds are an acting dynasty and are all really great at what they do.
it’s even more impressive when it’s believable and not outrageous logic. Many movies make cheaply written antagonist that are very unlikeable to justify their death, but when a scumbag is a well written one, well it makes the immersion all the better

I found it even funnier when I realized the actor is around my age. So while I don't know what the character's canonical age is (plus the fact that all four films take place in the same year, so probably 2014), I think it's funny that a dude I could have gone to school with is trying to boss around all these men twice his age.
Also, Winston takeover his hotel against its former owner with the help of Charon and a few Vietnam War veterans when Marquis Vincent Bisset de Gramont isn't even born yet, so it's so disrespectful for Vincent to diss him like that.

All he had to do was open his mouth and chase and I’d of legit seen pennywise regardless of the makeup 😂 that fkn eye is literally iconic to the pennywise image! Goated actors right here.
He technically succeeded and went into history. John wick died as a result of the duel so whether he died because of it isn't important. He accomplished the mission of getting rid of John wick
Did he though? John won the duel. He did not. The Marquis died first. He has no honor or legacy to bask in. He failed the High Table. They didn’t get rid of him. He won by abiding to their rules. So by technicality, he didn’t get rid of John Wick. And in death, John is like a martyr to any and all assassins who challenge the Table. He damaged their reputation.
@@ryanmax-grappler8654 “How a man does something is how they do everything.” So I disagree on that: it does very much matter how they get rid of him. That’s the whole point of it.
