Pattern:
Snout
Ch6
Starting in 2nd ch from hook - Sc, Sc, Inc, Sc, Sc
Turn the piece and Sc 5 down the other side
Cut the yarn and create an invisible finish in the next stitch over (the first Sc made).
Arms
Make a slip knot Ch 2 and Sc 5 in 2nd Ch from hook
R1: Inc x 5 [10]
R2: Sc around [10]
Cut the yarn leaving enough for sewing in. Pull out the loop.
Body
Make a slip knot, Ch 2 and Sc 8 in 2nd Ch from hook
R1: Inc x8 [16]
R2: (Sc, Inc) x8 [24]
R3: (Sc 2, Inc) x8 [32]
R4-10: Sc around [32] (7 Rounds)
R11: (Sc 6, Dec) x4 [28]
R12&13: Sc around [28]
R14: (Sc 5, Dec) x4 [24]
R15&16: Sc around [24]
R17: (Sc 4, Dec) x4 [20]
R18: Sc around [20]
R19: (Sc 3, Dec) x 4 [16]
R20: Sc around [16]
Stop here and stuff. Stuff a little extra as you finish off the pattern.
R21: (Sc 2, Dec) x4 [12]
R22: Sc around [12]
R23: (Sc, Dec) x4 [8]
R24: Sc around [8]
R25: Dec x4 [4]
Do not cut the yarn, to work the tail, with you hook still in your loop, Ch 3. Starting in the 2nd Ch from hook, Sc, hdc. Then, insert your hook into the first stitch of R25 and out the 3rd stitch of R25 and make a Single Crochet here. Ch 3 from here and work down the chain starting in the 2nd Ch from hook with Sc, hdc. Finally slip stitch into R25. Cut the yarn and pull out the loop. Knot and hide the yarn through the piece.
Assemble the snout on the piece first placing the eyes as reference but not gluing them in yet (I like to move around the face a lot before confirming everything in). Sew in the BLO of the top of the snout to the face and the bottom 5 stitches, sew in both loops (to give the snout a ridge on the top). Knot and hide the yarn tail through the piece. Trim the excess. Sew in the feet to prop up the body. Knot and hide the yarn tail through the piece. Trim the excess. Finally move the eyes around until you are happy and then glue them in!

I love the pattern, i really think it would help the audience if you put the row and written pattern in the Corner of the video to help keep track of where you are

The only thing I'm a bit confused about, is that I'm following each and every step closely- yet my seal seems to be coming out a lot smaller than it should be? I'm using size 6 super bulky yarn, so I'm not sure what's happening. Is this because my stitches or too tight? I'm definitely a beginner, haha.
Edit: I think I'm just getting the stitch count wrong. As a beginner, I've definitely done that a lot.

I made the baby seal first and struggled to find the stitches 😂 now I'm making momma seal. Still struggled to find the stitches 😂 AND I learned to do the under under stitch! Don’t be sorry about what you use to stuff your projects, my number #1 thing I use is my scissors , they work really really well for almost all my projects, have done that for years, and sometimes a crochet hook, knitting needles, I also don’t through all my empty pens away, the ones that I feel would work well I take the cartridge out and use the empty pen, whatever works is a Good Tool. Love your projects and will be sharing video with my niece who will love these, I taught her to crochet many moons ago, I have crochet for over 50 years and love it more and more all the time, keep up the good work.
I love this and would love to try your pattern but make a much bigger seal with a baby seal. Do you think if I doubled the yarn you're using it would make a longer/wider seal? Could you possibly try ot and make a video? Thanks

Okay so I’m left handed and it’s SUPER easy it’s just the same pattern everything except I hold my hook in my left and and start left to right and flip my project. Super easy and no need to look into it
