Haters gonna hate. After all, nobody is loved by everyone. @bhkidd You keep on putting down the Band of Blue as much as you want. All you are doing is labeling yourself as the proof that they're spectacular. Mediocrity goes unnoticed, while being extraordinary, as is exemplified here, will rattle the bones of some egotistical perfectionist who degrades everything that doesn't go exactly how he wants it, even if it's amazing. Rock on, Band of Blue. You are awesome and always will be.
@bhkidd And based on alumni association meetings, I am definitely not the only one who feels this way. Many BOB alums I know wont even brag on this BOB, but rather avoid mentioning it around their music education colleagues.
@futurecav2008 And that is why the BOB is in the crapper right now. Last Contest of Champions I attended, the HS kids I was sitting with (band parent now) were rolling their eyes at how bad the BOB was. Too bad, really. With these resources, they could give Jacksonville State or UNA a run for their money. But they settle for this.
You guys have even managed to butcher the fight song. It was a march that honored Nathan Bedford Forrests Raiders, but when you guys play it, it sounds like circus music. Sad, really.
Obviously, this band has forgotten what the BOB was about back during that time. They probably destroyed the videos because they werent funky, fun, cool, and undemanding. Cornish has let this program slide into the pit of hell. I have pulled my alum contributions until they get a new director who demands discipline, polish, and musicianship. This band today is a sad joke. Go to a practice, and they are in flip-flops, joking around, no idea of the position of attention. Sad, really.
From the perspective of an alum and former BOB member, this is the biggest shame I have ever seen. You guys have taken one of the finest traditions on the campus and ruined it. Trying to be "funky" and "cool" has destroyed this program. We used to put so much musicianship and polish on the field under Dr. Smith, who started the program. We would have killed for 300+ and good uniforms, but you guys act like Stanford U Band east and look SLOPPY and sound worse. Cornish must go.
@jwatts363 This band is considered to be a joke among the real band programs in the south, such as Jacksonville State, UNA, Bama, Auburn, and LSU. You guys are loud, maybe a little funky, and a whole lot sloppy, and you sound like out of tune crap. If stiff is believing in polish, pop, and musicianship, yes I am as stiff as they come. HS bands sound better than this. Your response is typical of this generation. It would be too much to ask for a little discipline.
@spooner07uk September 6th is fairly early in the season, so they may not have had the show entirely done.

Heyohaley, do you know Sarah Wofford?
one 5 minute song?
For the record, those who are in it love it. That's all that matters.
Your opinions are meaningless.

@TheVolunteer13 Troll harder.
If you don't like it, then leave.
