    Trident eqs are one of my go to on individual drums. Specifically the snare if nothing else. It’s got such a nice saturation and the high end is beautiful.

    Trident is wonderful for drums, like the pre amps and eqs are very percussive in terms of how they react to the instruments going through them. And these 500 series EQ's are about £400 per module. Great value! They also have an awesome range of consoles. Their Trident 88 console has options for transformers, and thier lower priced gear is great value as well. But...yes...they are wonderful on anything percussive.

    Hi Dave! Great content as always! I have four 80B EQs and also like them a lot. I bought them directly from Trident for $300 each. They sometimes bring the prices down and I took advantage on both occasions. The Deca Dent 500 Series chassis is also pretty good.

    Thank you! Interesting video again. I hope someday you'll do a comparison of different flavors of equipment :)
    While we can compare the sound of trident plugin versions vs. SSL APIs, etc. with "similar" settings if possible, for hardware we can only humbly ask the owners ;)

    • @MixingMusicAnalog
      @MixingMusicAnalog  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure what you mean by "different flavors" of equipment. I just do videos on the gear I personally own,

    • @Piotre
      @Piotre ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MixingMusicAnalogI thought about comparing, for example, the sound of SSL EQ/preamp vs. Trident EQ/preamp, setting the most similar parameters for EQ or gain for exactly the same source. It would be ideal if you could download some small samples for comparison in your DAW.
      You hear a lot about these differences in the sounds of SSL vs API vs Trident etc but it's hard to grasp if you don't have this hardware yourself. And it's hard to find something like that, but maybe I'm not looking hard enough ;)
      Sorry for my not the best English, I hope now the translator will help me to express myself better :)

    Hi Dave, great job as always! Do you consider to show (and to be affiliate to) a distributor in Europe (like Thomann for example)? I don’t know if you have many viewers like me from the old continent but sometimes prices are different from USA to EU

    I have a pair of these. Do you notice they are sensitive to peaking, like when you were working on the drums? Have to lessen the volume out of the DAW or interface.

    • @MixingMusicAnalog
      @MixingMusicAnalog  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, they can be a little sensitive to peaking

  • @Polentaccio
    @Polentaccio ปีที่แล้ว

    My question as a small hobbiest with a hybrid setup and less gear than you is, with a pair like this, you would end up printing a stereo track or two mono before using the EQ's on another set of tracks. How do you work printing in to your workflow ? Do you find it alows you down or speeds things up because you commit?

    • @MixingMusicAnalog
      @MixingMusicAnalog  ปีที่แล้ว

      I only print 1 final stereo print track of the entire mix. If you wanted to use these EQ's for example on several different tracks in your mix, then yes; you need to print each track back into your DAW separately which would slow down your process tremendously. .

    I almost bought one of those old Toft ATB consoles to have 16 of these EQs, but apparently there’s a ton of QC issues with them, so I changed my mind since I was concerned about it breaking or eventually not having any resale value.

    • @MixingMusicAnalog
      @MixingMusicAnalog  ปีที่แล้ว

      I have not heard of any QC issues but maybe with the older consoles there were some

      I’ve had mine for about 10 years. The only issue I’ve run into is the power supply blew a fuse 8 years in (replaced it) and 3 of the knobs over the years came loose from old glue. Reglued and they work great. It’s awesome having 24 of these Eqs. Use them every day.

      @@MixingMusicAnalog good stuff. Which other company has a Trident plug-in?

    • @Polentaccio
      @Polentaccio ปีที่แล้ว

      I tried both the official plugin and analog obsession plugin and it was pretty close. I may have preferred the analog obsession plugin to be honest! But the hardware seems to beat both to my ears. It's the top end of hardware eq's and depth of hardware comps that are hard to beat when comparing. In a mix though, it's a wash.
