Lettres de Pushkar is such a great blind buy idea as a gift for a woman who loves jammy roses that are versatile, not sticky sweet and juvenile and not powdery either. There are no notes that jut out of the composition with the power to offend, it's so balanced and smooth. A little sweeter than this would be Peregrina by Thameen and even denser and sweeter is NY 5th Ave Intense by Fragrance du Bois. My great rose loves are Superbia by Memoize and Knightsbridge by Robert Piguet and I wish both of these TOTALLY DIFFERENT rose offerings got more love on TH-cam. Such a great video Chris, I love hearing about what other people with great experience and knowledge (and thus, high exacting standards in a sphere where burn out is so easy) really love. Fascinating and charming in turns.

You made it sound so wonderful, and although it is outside of what I usually like, I was intrigued. Let me tell you it was love at first sniff, even after the rice note disappeared sadly. It was still so cmforting, like a warm hug from a long lost friend. It has helped me with my foray into other areas of perfume and I love it. It's a whole new world out there! I love a few of the Ella K perfumes, Lettre de Pushkar being my fave. I have and love also Liquide Gold. Last year we spent a week in Istanbul and I bought the best top grade of saffron I could find. I find that exact scent in Liquide Gold.

I had been trying to place what it reminded me of. I also have the Ella K discovery set and thanks to you revisited Cri du Kalahari - such a lovely perfume! That line is indeed full of bangers from Sonia Constant. As soon as I get low on my L'Interdit Rouge I'm purchasing Camellia K, which is fresher and lovelier to my nose.

Picky Pat….😂😂😂 My last big purchase for a while was Miss Dior Parfum. I find it absolutely delightful. Absolutely Blooming is my other favorite. There’s a skin care line that features Baobab. It has great properties for the health of the skin. Baobab is often combined with Argan oil. Loved the video. 💛💛💛

Hi Chris, Spring is here in Fairview Oregon, so I can't stop wearing Exit The King by Etat Libre d'Orange Delilah by Maison Alhambra and for the cool nights I've been loving the smooth, sweet, violet in Barakkat Satin Oud. 💗💗💗 All 3 of these fragrances perform better than my most expensive perfumes.

Love these recommendations. Regarding your dislike of cumin (which I share), how do you reconcile that with your love of Le Labo Rose 31? I have tried (and tried) to love that fragrance, but I cannot get past the cumin.
I know! Well because I first fell in love with the soap. Still probably the best smelling soap of all time. So I push through that opening. The cumin is gone in 30 minutes and it’s literally one of the most complimented perfumes in my collection. No one else gets cumin on me either (they say, “wow! You smell so clean and fresh”!)

Hi Chris 🌹 I got a chance to test Silky Rose in a shop and I passed on it because I couldn’t smell it after about 15 minutes. It’s so beautiful but I wanted something with better performance. I did however buy Musamam White Intense for the same reasons you mentioned that you like it too. I’m curious how it will layer with Alien Goddess Intense because they both have coconut 😉 Your thoughts?
Oh I haven’t layered those two! I don’t tend to layer perfumes if they are strong , unique on their own and I enjoy them individually. I bet layered they are amazing!!!

Oooh, so many to test here! Splendeur Absolu especially sounds awesome. Agree about cumin...I just don't get it! Once a sales assistant at Saks was wearing Cartier Déclaration Parfum (which has lots of cumin) and wanted me to smell her wrist. I didn't have the heart to tell her she smelled like dirty arm pits. 😄
I think it’s your chemistry and your nose that are separating them from each other….A lot of people get the same type of scent on their skin and in their nose with baby cat and splendeur absolu
No disagreement here… when an individual sprays a molecular chemical onto their skin their hormones and chemistry will react differently on them then as it would on the next person… also each set of olfactory nerves along with history exposure will tell your brain something very unique to you. So what one individual thinks about a fragrance isn’t right or wrong just individualized to them.
@@KaareneRNHealthLifeCoach oh yes absolutely!! Have you tried / own both? I often times think a perfume I have smells “ exactly” like another perfume; until I wear them side by side. That’s when you can really tell the difference. And since I wear sweaters and long sleeves to work I always spray on my clothes. I wanted to make the differences clear to the audience also. Just because 5 ppl on fragrantica think they smell similar doesn’t mean they do. I don’t want ppl blind buying this because they want a Babycat copy (since we can’t get Babycat here). These two perfumes share one note in common, vanilla. So to say they smell exactly alike is like saying a fajita and Boeuf Bourguignon taste exactly alike because they both share one ingredient, beef. I’ll reiterate that Splendeur doesn’t contain incense. I underscore that because it’s super prominent in Babycat and the main reason it doesn’t work for lots of ppl. ❤️❤️ I mean all 4 of my coworkers found them very different; no skin chemistry involved. 🥰🥰🥰
I think everyone needs to take everything with a grain of salt and do/own what they want at the end of it. Whether it's fragrantica, yt, ig, tik tok, blogs, all are just subjective opinions. Whether it's a review of paragraphs you can read in 1 min, or a 4 minute chat on video about 1 fragrance, they all just draw a bigger picture with different perspectives for someone considering a fragrance.

Yes it is. I bought these myself. Both of those bottles. Sorry to disappoint. And since I don’t follow Ms. Rawling I didn’t know she showed these recently . So yet another coincidence.
The large channels yes get all or most of their perfumes as PR. I get PR from time to time, but I let the audience know what I receive in PR. Unfortunately many other creators (esp. the large channels) aren’t super transparent about PR . So it leads to distrust. I stop watching channels that don’t disclose PR. I would recommend others follow suit. That’s how you keep everything transparent and above board.

I’m glad I’m not the only one ! (Who smells a teensy bit of that RM#5 musk) . But thankfully it’s soft and enveloped in a yummy boozy citrusy vanilla

My last big purchase for a while was Miss Dior Parfum. I find it absolutely delightful. Absolutely Blooming is my other favorite.
There’s a skin care line that features Baobab. It has great properties for the health of the skin. Baobab is often combined with Argan oil.

Love these recommendations. Regarding your dislike of cumin (which I share), how do you reconcile that with your love of Le Labo Rose 31? I have tried (and tried) to love that fragrance, but I cannot get past the cumin.
I know! Well because I first fell in love with the soap. Still probably the best smelling soap of all time. So I push through that opening. The cumin is gone in 30 minutes and it’s literally one of the most complimented perfumes in my collection. No one else gets cumin on me either (they say, “wow! You smell so clean and fresh”!)

Imaginary Authors make a woody, forestry, tree fragrance. It literally smells like the forests near where I live (in Oregon) it's called Cape Heartache.

Hi Chris 🌹 I got a chance to test Silky Rose in a shop and I passed on it because I couldn’t smell it after about 15 minutes. It’s so beautiful but I wanted something with better performance. I did however buy Musamam White Intense for the same reasons you mentioned that you like it too. I’m curious how it will layer with Alien Goddess Intense because they both have coconut 😉 Your thoughts?
Oh I haven’t layered those two! I don’t tend to layer perfumes if they are strong , unique on their own and I enjoy them individually. I bet layered they are amazing!!!

Oooh, so many to test here! Splendeur Absolu especially sounds awesome. Agree about cumin...I just don't get it! Once a sales assistant at Saks was wearing Cartier Déclaration Parfum (which has lots of cumin) and wanted me to smell her wrist. No disagreement here… when an individual sprays a molecular chemical onto their skin their hormones and chemistry will react differently on them then as it would on the next person… also each set of olfactory nerves along with history exposure will tell your brain something very unique to you. So what one individual thinks about a fragrance isn’t right or wrong just individualized to them.
@@KaareneRNHealthLifeCoach oh yes absolutely!! Have you tried / own both? I often times think a perfume I have smells “ exactly” like another perfume; until I wear them side by side. That’s when you can really tell the difference. And since I wear sweaters and long sleeves to work I always spray on my clothes. I wanted to make the differences clear to the audience also. Just because 5 ppl on fragrantica think they smell similar doesn’t mean they do. I don’t want ppl blind buying this because they want a Babycat copy (since we can’t get Babycat here). These two perfumes share one note in common, vanilla. So to say they smell exactly alike is like saying a fajita and Boeuf Bourguignon taste exactly alike because they both share one ingredient, beef. I’ll reiterate that Splendeur doesn’t contain incense. I underscore that because it’s super prominent in Babycat and the main reason it doesn’t work for lots of ppl. ❤️❤️ I mean all 4 of my coworkers found them very different; no skin chemistry involved. 🥰🥰🥰
I think everyone needs to take everything with a grain of salt and do/own what they want at the end of it. Whether it's fragrantica, yt, ig, tik tok, blogs, all are just subjective opinions. Whether it's a review of paragraphs you can read in 1 min, or a 4 minute chat on video about 1 fragrance, they all just draw a bigger picture with different perspectives for someone considering a fragrance.

It's getting so obvious that brands are sending frags out to every influencer at once. Demi Rawling has just made multiple posts featuring Liquide AND Lettre De Pushkar...can't be a coincidence.
Yes it is. I bought these myself. Both of those bottles. Sorry to disappoint. And since I don’t follow Ms. Rawling I didn’t know she showed these recently . So yet another coincidence.
The large channels yes get all or most of their perfumes as PR. I get PR from time to time, but I let the audience know what I receive in PR. Unfortunately many other creators (esp. the large channels) aren’t super transparent about PR . So it leads to distrust. I stop watching channels that don’t disclose PR. I would recommend others follow suit. That’s how you keep everything transparent and above board.
