    Have you tried combining the collector box with a 90 degree elbow? If you re-worked your template, you could probably find a good way to fit them within each other and get the best of both worlds. I plan to try that with an upcoming build, and will likely use your templates as my starter..

    Have you ever tried or considered using a bell (like on a horn) into a curver 90° elbow rather than a collector? Any thoughts?

    Do you build these for 8” 500gallon? I saw the hinge-but not the collector-thanks! Love the channel. I’m ordering the hinge-but want to check on this first

      Yes, I do. It is on the website and the Etsy shop by the same name.
      It's called the 8x22E/H it works with hemispheric and Eliptical tanks.
      Contact me through mysticsmokers@gamil.com if you have problems finding it. I just checked, it's there.
      Free shipping as well at the time of this conversation.

      Here is the link to the 6x22E collector kit. This is for 30" diameter tanks (or pipe) with Eliptical end caps.
      The 6x22H is for hemispheric tanks. They have the "bubble" end caps.
      The 6x18 version is for 24" diameter tanks or pipe.
      The 8x22 is for 330g or 500g cookers using 8-5/8" OD pipe
      Feel free to reach out via mysticsmokers@gmail.com and I can provide a phone number if needed.

    Are the kits available for sale the latest version with the longer standoff?

    • @mysticsmokers3014
      @mysticsmokers3014  ปีที่แล้ว

      The 6-inch and 8 inch versions for 30 inch diameter tank (250 and 330 gallon) are on the mysticsmokers.com website and Etsy shop by the same name.
      I will have the 6-inch collector for a 24-inch diameter tank (120g-150g) later this week.
      And yes, the proper stand-off distance is the current design.

      @@mysticsmokers3014 Thanks for the quick response, width of the 6/24 model? I’m looking to modify a flat end smoker.

    • @mysticsmokers3014
      @mysticsmokers3014  ปีที่แล้ว

      @JB-dg8de That's a great question, and for a flat end, you may want to choose between the two versions, so let me give dimensions for both:
      The 6" - 30" diameter version is:
      -6" tall
      -6-5/8" hole for sch#10
      -22" wide at the tank opening
      The 6" - 24" diameter version is:
      -6" tall
      -6-5/8" hole for sch#10
      18 inches wide at the tank opening.
      So, in short, both versions would work on a 24-inch flat end tank.
      Personally, I would prefer the wider opening.
      Feel free to email me at mysticsmokers@gmail.com
      Or find me on FACEBOOK MESSENGER. I'm easy to spot.
      I'll provide my phone number for easier/faster communication.

    That is Schedule 10 pipe? Wouldn't that be super thin?

    • @mysticsmokers3014
      @mysticsmokers3014  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Schedule 10 is perfect. The 8 inch pipe in sch 10 is 3/16" wall thickness.
      Any more is completely unnecessary wgt.

      Yes. That is perfect for a 250. I dont start using 8" until 330g.

    How do you roll the horizontal door bands?

    • @mikencrcf6018
      @mikencrcf6018 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The vertical bands are rolled on the roller.
      The horizontal bands are rolled on a large press break.
      They match the curvature of the tank perfectly.

      That was my thinking. I get aggravated watching instructional videos with no narrative. Especially if it's a tool or something im interested in repairing or building. There's so many tips or warnings you miss and have to learn the hard way. @user-wq4pi8ez7c
