loved these games as a kid, and I think they are still some of the coolest bmx games ever made. And its because of how creative you can get with tricks, the whole modifiers system. I always spent time trying to figure out how to do something new. Some of my favorite tricks were turndown x-ups which looked like super torqued turndowns, and then the infamous backflip nothing. Also, should be noted, the first time I ever saw a 'bike flip' trick (like modern day R Willy), it was in this game. They were tricks added that were supposed to be pretty much impossible IRL, I think it was called a kangaroo flip in game.
What a small world this is. Me and a friend are asked to look into this game's competition logic for speedrunners, I start playing casually, I do what I always do and look for glitches, I find a mention of a freeze glitch in Trainyard, the instructions are unclear so I look on TH-cam, and I find a recent video from a speedrunner showing it off. Amazing seeing someone having mastered these god-awful controls.
@@i_used_adblock_to_watch_this I've been playing nonstop since I made this comment, I've gotten considerably better at the game, but they're still garbage controls. I later found the next game in the series, and despite having the same controls, I'm much better at it, because it responds to my inputs much better.

Controls aren't awful at all. Get good.

I had to stop watching… I got the “i wish I could go back to the first time I played this” thought and it hit me hard
