From my own memory, this is even older than 1976. color television started in 1976 in Pakistan. Afshan started singing as an adult singer in early 1980's. BTW, the guy sitting next to Sohail Rana is great batsman Hanif Mohammad, father of Shoaib Mohammad.
I was a toddler at that time as it was program ' Kalyoun ki mala'. I remember the program 'Saray dost hamaray' which was directed by Sohail Rana sahib. I wish a social media group of people born in 70's. It is true that everyone recall their childhood to be golden era but our generation rightly claims so because at that time there was real peace and prosperity. There were no private hospitals but doctor would visit patient at home. Public hospitals were empty and above all our dear Pakistan was prosperous.
Famous Nazia Hasan and her brother was also from this program then they left for England. I still remember when Sohail Rana announced about their departure to London.

بہت پرانا زمانہ یاد آگیا ۔ بچوں کا یہ پرگرام جو سہیل رانا صاحب کیا کرتے تھے ۔ بلیک اینڈ وائٹ زمانہ تھا ۔ اس زمانے میں سہیل رانا کا میں نے کوئی پرگرام نہیں چھوڑا پی ٹی وی پر یہ میرا سب سے پسندیدہ پرگرام تھا مجھے آج بھی یاد ہے شام ہوتے ہی ہم سب بھائی بہن اور کزن ٹی وی کے پاس بیٹھ جاتے گھر میں ایک ہی ٹی وی تھا ۔ اور یہ پرگرام بڑے شوق سے دیکھتے سنتے تھے دوستی ایسا ناتا جو سونے بھی منگا ۔ آج کل بھائی بہن اور کزن کہاں اکٹھے ہوتے ۔ اب نہ وہ گانے رہے نہ وہ دوستیاں رہیں نہ وہ پیار رہا

اس نغمے کو جب بھی سنتا ہوں تو پھر سے پرانے وقتوں میں چلا جاتا ہوں اور جب پلٹ کر دیکھتا ہوں تو پتہ چلتا ہے کتنے لوگ بچھڑ گئے ماں باپ دوست یار سب کچھ تو پیچھے رہ گیا کاش کوئی ایسی مشین ہوتی کہ میں واپس جاکر سب کو لے آتا اور۔ ہم پھر سے اکھٹے رہتے۔ یہ احساس بہت تنہائی بھرا ہے کبھی کبھی یہ گانا مجھے بہت تکلیف دیتا ہے
