    1) Have a bedtime 0:34
    2) Connect to people through acts of kindness 3:00
    3) Prepare meal plans 5:12
    4) Resist snoozing 7:13
    5) Be more intentional with your phone 9:44
    6) Listen to upbeat music 12:02
    7) Switch out coffee for tea 13:53
I always find time stamps to be so helpful with videos so that’s my way of paying it forward (also to my future self when I need to have a quick reminder!)

I pay forward with a passion. Many people are preoccupied with their busy lives so they miss out on how it feels when the smile you give, comes back to you. It's the small gestures that count. 🤗

I agree. I taught junior high, high school, adult education, in a maximum security men's prison, and college for 43 years. I did a lot of free tutoring and still do some. Last week, one of my former students contacted me to go to dinner. She was in tears thanking me for helping her through college 7 years ago. She also contacted my favorite professor and got him to write a short message in the book he had authored. I had given her the book to use for class, and I had forgotten about it. She said she would be forever grateful to me for my kindness and patience. My dad always told us that God created each of us to help our fellow man (woman). That's what brings me joy.

Hearing that it’s hard for other people to get out of bed, but they just make themselves is really lifechanging advice for me. I think I was under the impression that morning people enjoyed getting up early. It puts me in the mindset that if other people can force themselves to get up, I can too

I am in my 60s and have not used an alarm in years. I am usually in bed by 10:30 at night and my body naturally wakes between 6 and 7 in the morning. Love all of your helpful ideas. I am with you on the coffee thing. I think because of my age I am not tied to my phone so that is not a problem for me. Thanks for all your wonderful ideas.

I have to tell you my favorite pay it forward moment. I had the day off so I set about my errands, grocery shopping was on the list so I'm standing at the check out with a basket full. I looked behind me and there was a guy with like 3 or 4 things in his hands, I asked him Is that all you have? I then told him he could go before me. He kind of looked surprised and said thank you. After he checked out and payed he turned and said thank you, you just saved my entire day, my son has a field trip at school and I forgot his lunch. You are right Kallie, I felt so good about that small little gesture that didn't take any time away from my day but was very important to that person.
I am a relatively new Sub and I am loving your channel, thank you.

A while back a very close friend sent me a small poster that that noted many things that will improve yourself, your life, and the lives of others. One thing mentioned was to pay it forward. Now, I have always tried to do this but now I really try to do something kind for someone every day. I keep the poster by my bed and look at it frequently. Where did my friend get the poster? It was the back of a cereal box!

Re music and mood: I have discovered the “fountain of youth”! Listen (and dance, and sing if you want) to the music of your teen years through your twenties. For me that’s 1969 through

I live in Portlandia, so I can’t/won’t give up coffee, but I definitely focus on living out the Golden Rule.
Every little chance I get, I help others, even if it’s only to give a haggard store clerk a smile.
I remember being so down years ago, that a smile from a stranger felt precious, and I cherished them.

My husband had to go to a different city today for work. He usually drops one kid to school and I drop the other one (different schools). So tomorrow morning is gonna be hard. So, I decided to make a list of everything we will have for school and work lunch, snacks and supper and prepare our clothes for the next day.I already know it's gonna make my life so much easier. One thing I also started doing is cleaning my dishes before going to bed and it feels so good in the morning to wake up to a clean kitchen so thank you 😊

I already do most of these things, thankfully! Working from home on devices for a good portion of last year made me realize how much I did NOT want to be on my devices. With going back to college and working full time, I get plenty of computer time. I have fallen into that bad habit again and need to stop. With nearly grown sons going every direction, I make sure I am intentional in the time we do have together. Extended family dynamics have changed, so making those a priority when possible is important, too. So little time and so much to do! I am trying to get back into the habit of doing the dishes every night and hoping that spills over into other areas, too. This time change has not been kind either. I am ready for spring!

  • @kathyr5278

Hey there🙋🏼‍♀️, I use a clock radio for my wake-up alarm. It’s going to take a minute to discover the station that consistently plays zen, calm wake up music but it makes a huge difference and I usually did not want to press snooze because of the great music. The other plus is your device should be off, and you have now successfully been device free for at least 8 hours and hopefully you can get through the breakfast rush without turning it on. That’s a beautiful thing ☮️💟🪴

I cracked me up to see the look on your dog’s face when you were dancing with your daughter. He/she looked like a teenager who was mortified by his parents - believe me, my teen gives me that look quite often, which makes me only want to do it more. Share the playlist if you get a chance - music does lift you up. I listen to the same song every morning while making my bed. It’s made a mundane/hated chore quite enjoyable. Great tweaks! ~ Linda

I love your videos! I especially loved the last tweak. 🤣🤣 I do need to have a set bedtime. I’m retired so I’ve just been going to bed when I feel like it but most the time wake up early so I only get about 5-6 hours maybe. I feel horrible in the mornings. I’m one with migraines, sinus issues, a few other health related things so it’s really hard when I don’t get enough sleep. I love music! I should have thought of that back when I had my kids. I listen to music all the time. My biggest problem at night is scrolling on my phone. Ugh! I need to leave it in another room or something but I don’t. 😩

And, I told myself, I have put each one into my day-by-day living. HOWEVER, you reminded me today that 2 of them have not been consistent. 😲😕 So thank you 4 the wake up. In regards to a set bedtime. I have a general idea.
What helps me to go to bed earlier is to dim/turn off many lights in my apartment around 8pm. This allows my eyes and brain to adjust for sleep (Even if I am still on my computer and other devices). I also start taking my Evening meds then. I ACTUALLY SCHEDULE THIS ON MY
calendar so that I get reminders.

I once heard hitting Snooze meaning your first choice is not doing what you told yourself you would do. This hit home for me. Now I only snooze alarm I set to remind me I soon need to get to work, instead of several reminders. To keep Track of time, not sleep more.
Anyways many great tips. Though I think I’ll keep coffee as regular morning etc drink and tea for chill time.

That whole going to bed at the same time - my circadian rhythm isn’t having it. I go to bed at 11 pm and at 4 am I’m yelling at myself (inside my head of course - don’t want to wake up the doggies) SLEEEEP. Am I the only one, who can’t fix my daily rhythm?

I can't seem to find a set schedule even though I had to get up every day anywhere from 4:40 am - 6:30 am (depending upon my job schedule) for 43 years. I have sleep apnea and use a CPAP, but my schedule is all over the place. Sometimes I am eating breakfast at 3 pm to 7 pm, staying awake all night (not by choice) and going to bed at 5 pm the next day. I was even taking prescription sleep medication for several years about a decade ago. Nothing helps!

Love love your channel!! So good.. so much GREAT information..even if it does not pertain to me (ie: babies-mine are grown🥳) I watch every one. Enjoy so much!
Wonder if you could do a video on your journey from vegetarian to non? I would be so interested to see your motivation. I have been vegan for 20 years and recently changed…so I’m curious about your evolution.
    Thanks for a great video!!

I would love to know if your husband also has the same routines or different ones. Does he also help in decluttering and cleaning?

Thanks for the video. Working on some of these improvements at the moment. Can you give us the link to your "Feel Good" Playlist? That would be great.

I just don't snooze....I wake up between 3 and 6 a.m. and my day is on....now, the hubs...well.....not so much. I can affirm the playlist theory. I was a single parent for years and on weekends our chores had to be done before we could play. I'd put on my favorites and we got it done. To this day, my son cleans his home listening to Cat Stevens. When I walk I take purposeful music with a beat...and before you know it my 4 miles are done. Now, I don't meal plan...I've a habit of only buying (every 3-4 weeks) what my family will eat then in the morning I shop my freezer for dinner.

I’m probably over looking this somewhere, but, where do I find the upbeat music play list? I may really need this in my life. 😀

The concepts you talked about in your second suggestion remind me a lot of the teachings of Jesus. He was passionate about treating others with kindness. He saw every person as equal. The world would definitely be different if we all saw each other as human beings.

The phone is definitely my weakness. I ended up being a SAHM not by choice after an international move, and it makes me feel less lonely and more connected to family, friends, and other adults in general. I'm trying to be better in being more intentional with the phone, and also with the kids while putting the phone down, especially since my 6yo pointed out how much I use it 😔

I use a wake up gently spotify playlist to wake up to everyday. I'm in the market for a gentle awake alarm clock.

I literally here your voice in the morning when my alarm goes off saying, “When have you ever felt better and more refreshed after hitting that snooze button?” 😂
