Wishing you great success on this project ! The last wild Northern Bobwhite I saw in Pa. was in the Kutztown area.
I got a little antsy waiting for this video but I am so happy I can finally hear their call again!
I love the work that y'all are doing! Amazing stuff. The electric blues guitar was an interesting choice of audio, but it was fun in a goofy way, Keep it up y'all
Love this program! Miss hearing BobWhites!
Amazing work, hope it is successful!
next on my list: woolly mammoth reintroduction. Looking forward to that.
Make sure you put those pine martins in the same spot that’s the key to success!
they aren't being released get over it
I hope the program is successful.
Congrats from ohio!
saw two of them in Smethport Pa on 6/5/24.
can you please make a video for aspiring teenagers looking to join game commission as im one of them and im doing as much research as i can it would be nice if you would but you don't have to?
I found one in my yard in October of 2022.
My neighbor used to raise, and release Bob whites. But the Coyotes, Fisher Cats, and other predators would kill them all off every time unfortunately.
You shouldn't admit to releasing animals on the official game commission youtube lol.
Pen raised birds will not survive and may spread diseases to any wild birds in the area. Just don't do it!
The game commission also shouldn’t have released the coyotes that kill them off. 2 wrongs don’t make a right.
If you don't allow longer trapping seasons to remove more predators [ because trapper numbers are way down] you'll never see bobwhites restored. I wish you luck. I use to raise them to train bird dogs. I love hearing them , hope to hear wild ones again but i doubt it will ever happen.
I've been wondering who's going to eat all those millions of partridge berries I see growing on the ground. If nobody else eats them, I will, but there are an awful lot of them, and I'm sure that we could use some more partridges to eat them. Since partridges aren't native, we could hope the quail would like them. I seriously wonder how there could be so many uneaten partridge berries sitting around doing nothing.
I dont see them anywhere in central Fl anymore. F shame
The problem with bob white quail they are to tame!
Did I hear you say 25 birds a year
From each of their capture sites. not 25 total.
My many miles of shoe leather tell,s me your going to reintroduce ruffed grouse shortly.
The grouse population has dwindled here in the last few years I've heard that chicks have been dying from West Nile Virus and the amount of predators anymore is crazy hawks, owls, fox, coyotes, fishers, skunks, opossums, raccoons house cats it's a wonder any of them survive there doesn't seem to be much habitat improvement going on in the game lands either so it's a combination of things
I’ve hunted grouse all my life. West Nile is predominantly to blame not predators, and especially not coyotes or fisher cats 😂
The big snows in 1977 and 78 killed the Bob white quail in ohio. They never returned.
What a joke.
Quail come on already were are the grouse our state bird your a joke
