    Former VF-41 Black Ace Troubleshooter here. USS Nimitz 84-88. Most exciting job in the Navy.

    Working flight deck at night as trouble shooter is double dangerous.I did that in 1965 aboard Independence with VA75 in South China sea, operation rolling thunder.Had many close calls, but lived to tell about it

      Yep! Worked nights on USS JFK as troubleshooter & final checker with VF-32 in 1969. Not for the faint of heart.

    Not much has changed since 1995… but you do have a better camera compared to what I had at the time. I have a few clips on my channel.

    Does anyone knows what is that bar or rod for... behind the nose landing gear during launching?

    • @terenceflores2257
      @terenceflores2257 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      There is a holdback bar attached to the nose gear, it keeps the aircraft from running forward under its own thrust until the catapult fires.

      As one as your away from the line, your ok. Inside that line is bad.
