Great riding and love that color. Looks like you made the best of a unfortunate situation. I look forward to seeing the new bike in action on all those local tech trails back home.
I have been lucky enough to ride Iwatake last August, and it is siiiiick! I can't wait for the MTB scene in Asia to develop further and eventually skyrocket... it has so much potential and a town like Hakuba is a great example of that. And the autumn colours are awesome in your video!!
Fun video. Sometimes green trails can be fun, one of the trails I rode today was squid line at sumas mountain BC. I think that is the best green trail that I have done.
BC, another incredible video dude...those huge gel packs look crazy lol as always thanks for sharing the cool Japanese parks man looks like sooo much fun!
Haha, half the fun of Japan is seeing all the weird stuff over there! Iwatake was pretty rad.. but 2 vids from now.. is fuji ten... that place was fuuuuun!
I'll be in Yokohama for work in November 1 to 10; would love to hit some trail; any advice on where I could find anything still open and where I could rent a decent bike? thx
As I said on the early cut, cracked me up yet again that you kick major ass in the 7 day BC event, slay with the DH junior champ earlier, then crash on the beginner DH course. Sorry but it's hilarious.
Was it the G.O.A.T!? A Capra 29er might be coming your way ^^ Can't wait for the Slash vs Wreckoning vid &/or Evil review ;-) Or... a parts swap over video =)
It was seriously good for a green trail! Oh man i saw that capra yesterday.. I like it. I'd love to do a review.. but so much japan footage to get through!
+bare foot bobby kk i like the evil, it's very much like the slash, just more plush. I do however have plans for a different frame in the coming months.
Sorry to hear about the Slash :/. Pretty cool you were able to pick up an Evil so quickly though. Btw how are bike shops in Japan compared to the ones in North America? Any special parts or accessories that we don't usually get to see?
I was surprised how well stocked they seemed to be... like better than vancouver bike shops. Definitely some interesting, odd parts there. I bought some brake pad shims, its a piece of metal you place between the rotor and the brake pads to help keep a space between the rotor and the pad when lining up the caliper. You pull them out when you've tightened up the caliper. I tried googling for it.. and I can't find them!
Fantastic video! Me and my girlfriend are heading out ourselves this year and we’re now thinking of bringing the bikes as we’ll be renting a camper van too. What time of year were you riding here as there’s some incredible Fall colours! Thanks!
BCpov awesome thanks! You’ve helped make a decision for us! Also where did you rent your camper from and how did you find travelling with bikes? Lots of questions - maybe you could do a short video on how you actually got around?
No, unfortunately, but I think that in the future I will definitely go there. In May, I'm going with my family to Korea and going to YongPyong MTB Park.
i don't think we ever had a single lineup in japan at a bike park. But in this case, we rode on a thursday.. I think even in whistler, you wouldn't get much of a line on thursdays!
yea in my experience whistler rarely gets long lines outside of perfect weather weekends tbh. helps having two ways to get up plus a third coming with creekside heh
Actually I really like the wreck. It's basically a more plush version of the slash. I'm going to keep the wreck for a bit, but I've got some plans brewing..
Hi! Could you please give me advice about GoPro options? I use helmet mount usually and even scarry gradiets looks like a chicken lvl on video))) How can I fix it? Thx a lot!)
The critter you saw was a Kamoshika (Japanese Serow) if you haven't figured that out yet. A goat-antelope if you will. I should watch the rest of the video before commenting...you answered your own question. I live in Japan and see these daily on the mtb trails. The poop was most likely bear...I've come across this too.
I loved your wife’s line about you crashing! There was such satisfaction in her voice! Believe me, I ride with my girlfriend and know how it goes. :) Killer edit man! Come to Oregon, ride with us!
14:00 it was a Sasquatch! End of the day no one knows how they look like ;-p Bit less fear inducing than the stories tell ha ha ha "I wanna see baby" ha ha ha LOL
15:00 - It is so strange that Japanese can live and work at the mountain and area, and not have a clue what you were trying to explain to them. You'd think that at least one of them, especially the older ones, would probably be able to figure out what you were talking about.
Amazing intro! Awesome you got to complete the trip
Thanks Paul. Yeah, I'm glad I could get a new frame. We were just about to get into the best riding!
Great riding and love that color. Looks like you made the best of a unfortunate situation. I look forward to seeing the new bike in action on all those local tech trails back home.
Yeah, it sucked, but I didn't want to not ride.. we were just about to get into the good stuff!
I have been lucky enough to ride Iwatake last August, and it is siiiiick! I can't wait for the MTB scene in Asia to develop further and eventually skyrocket... it has so much potential and a town like Hakuba is a great example of that. And the autumn colours are awesome in your video!!
Thanks Raw! Definitely some gold in Japan!
Love all the Fall colours ! Great riding. Thanks for video.
Thanks Shanti, fall is an amazing time in Japan!
Reminds me of fall in New England. Beautiful.
I need to explore that area, for sure!
Awesome! Japans nature looks so different! I really like that.
Totally, it's quite unique there compared to BC!
Fun video.
Sometimes green trails can be fun, one of the trails I rode today was squid line at sumas mountain BC.
I think that is the best green trail that I have done.
Squidline is a fantastic trail! I'd call it a bit more blue than green, but it's definitely one of the best trails in the valley.
I loved the little speech about dirt composition :D
It's important! Haha!
I goto fujiten.. which is at the base of mt fuji.. the dirt there is unreal!
This is the coolest video ever! Great once in lifetime trip
Thanks for watching SNB! It was a great trip :)
BC, another incredible video dude...those huge gel packs look crazy lol as always thanks for sharing the cool Japanese parks man looks like sooo much fun!
Haha, half the fun of Japan is seeing all the weird stuff over there!
Iwatake was pretty rad.. but 2 vids from now.. is fuji ten... that place was fuuuuun!
cant wait dude !
always love watching your videos, today i enjoyed some french toast and an espresso while watching!
Nice! Enjoy your breakfast!
If you go to 47 they have one of those goat things on display. I also saw one when I was in hakuba
Love these videos of Japan. Thanks for posting.
Thanks for watching!
Is it just me or does the gimbal seem to have a hard time keeping up with left turns?? Awesome video! It’s great traveling with you and your wife!
Yes everything is small in Japan! At 6’6” I wore some ridiculously small sandals at the temples lol
😅😄
This place looks so beautiful
It really is! Was really surprised by those snow capped peaks!
BCpov Keep up the amazing videos ! you literally are what keeps me going all week at work before i bike during the weekend. Love your work!
Haha, I know the feeling! Those Mondays are tough!
Quite a trail that! Looks dark green to me :-); great vid, thanks a lot
Hehe, it might be dark green :)
Haha, happy to entertain! Yuka loved it too :)
I pretty much had the same moment in the same spot on the last lap!
you should ride trapline at valemount bike park. AN AMAZING GREEN TRAIL
Was it the G.O.A.T!?
A Capra 29er might be coming your way ^^
Can't wait for the Slash vs Wreckoning vid &/or Evil review ;-)
Or... a parts swap over video =)
It was seriously good for a green trail!
Oh man i saw that capra yesterday.. I like it.
I'd love to do a review.. but so much japan footage to get through!
omg the wreckoning is the sickest bike ever
I'm loving mine :)
damn that scenery is so nice, Im gonna have to save some money for a little Japan trip!
Japan in the fall is definitely pretty special!
Nice trails and beautiful landscape. I',m a bit jealous......a bit? No, very! 😊
:) Japan is such a beautiful country in the fall.
WOW! This bike park is amazing. Awesome video. Btw I have never been this early. Im so sorry about the Slash. Trek Slash 9.8 is my dream bike.
Yeah, the thing about the slash sucked for sure. But I was able to continue riding and this bike park was awesome!
love the vids of the trip. have a question how do you like the evil and will you stay riding it?
+bare foot bobby kk i like the evil, it's very much like the slash, just more plush. I do however have plans for a different frame in the coming months.
Your cam is sick 🔥
Searching babies is one the best things about mountainbiking!
She never found her baby 😥
BCpov aww too bad! They are quite rare to be honest. The elusive trail baby.
Sorry to hear about the Slash :/. Pretty cool you were able to pick up an Evil so quickly though. Btw how are bike shops in Japan compared to the ones in North America? Any special parts or accessories that we don't usually get to see?

BCpov ,it's called "phone cards"... Lol
Fantastic video! Me and my girlfriend are heading out ourselves this year and we’re now thinking of bringing the bikes as we’ll be renting a camper van too. What time of year were you riding here as there’s some incredible Fall colours! Thanks!
This ride was on halloween :)
BCpov awesome thanks! You’ve helped make a decision for us! Also where did you rent your camper from and how did you find travelling with bikes? Lots of questions - maybe you could do a short video on how you actually got around?
BCpov great content by the way!
Super cool👍Grate park!
It's awesome, have you been since you're so close?
No, unfortunately, but I think that in the future I will definitely go there.
In May, I'm going with my family to Korea and going to YongPyong MTB Park.
this is so cool! do they not have the big crowds at the parks out there?
i don't think we ever had a single lineup in japan at a bike park. But in this case, we rode on a thursday.. I think even in whistler, you wouldn't get much of a line on thursdays!
nice! road trip to whistler for thursday this summer
yea in my experience whistler rarely gets long lines outside of perfect weather weekends tbh. helps having two ways to get up plus a third coming with creekside heh
nice!
What time of year was this filmed?! Hoping to go this fall!
Very awesome...!what tire you use for this trails?
I had Magic mary front and back for this trip. Because sometimes japan gets very muddy!
wow okay, you´ve got to make a comparison of these two bikes :)
:) The wreck is very similar to the slash, just more plush. I felt at home straight away on it!
BCpov so...what will happen to the slash? Is it completely "wrecked" ?
How are you liking the Evil as compared to the Slash? Are you going to have to switch frames for races back here?
Actually I really like the wreck. It's basically a more plush version of the slash. I'm going to keep the wreck for a bit, but I've got some plans brewing..
21 degrees in fall?! Thats really hot man. Anyway, love the channel, cheers from the Netherlands 👍🏼
Yeah, it was pretty nice! Was getting pretty cold at night though!
Thanks for watching, Kelvin!
Your wife is awesome. "You crashed on the beginner course." :D
Lol, she loves it when I crash. She's awesome, I need to put a camera on her :)
muy bueno excelente los descensos felicitaciones '''¡¡¡
desde argentina
Did you guys ride Fujimi panorama?
Nice! More vids per week please.. . :)
Once I'm a full time youtuber! These vids take a long time!
Cool man... Keep 'er coming, Vids are Awesome! Cheers
It was a Kamoshika.
Oh this pixalization.. Sick video dude! What program you are using for rendering?
+Petar Petrov hey petar, im using davinci resolve
Hi! Could you please give me advice about GoPro options? I use helmet mount usually and even scarry gradiets looks like a chicken lvl on video))) How can I fix it? Thx a lot!)
your wife is a great rider :) also, is the slash frame still salvageable? how does it compare to the evil?
I know! She's awesome, I'm so lucky to have her :)
How long does it take to get down 1 run? Thanks.
Hrm, good question. I'd say 10ish minutes?
Thanks for your reply. Anyway if it was a boar (which now we know it wasn’t) you would have seen tusks. Not horns. Haha... just sayin.
I almost lost my soda with the poop emoji! Too funny.
😀💩
lol, okay the zoom in on the poop might not have been necessary but damn did it make me laugh.
None of this is necessary!
I loved your wife’s line about you crashing! There was such satisfaction in her voice! Believe me, I ride with my girlfriend and know how it goes. :) Killer edit man! Come to Oregon, ride with us!
Haha, she loves it when I go down :D
Definitely need to explore oregon a little more! Will do!
Grand tour/top gear inspired intro?
+SG - MTB indeed!
How do you afford all this lol, looks like an amazing adventure
Sleeping in a van every night saves a ton of money :)
14:00 it was a Sasquatch! End of the day no one knows how they look like ;-p
Bit less fear inducing than the stories tell ha ha ha
"I wanna see baby" ha ha ha LOL
haha :)
It could have been a sasquatch! But yeah, that was a weird animal for sure.
Great videos. Question, I'm starting to mountain bike ride and was wondering how much time are you on the seat when descending?
Basically never sitting while descending
Thank you for the quick reply. What gears are you using in most of the climbs?
I know the name " Yuki " means Snow, What does Yuko mean in nihon?
Depends on which character (kanji) is used to write it. Names commonly have obscure kanji.
ユカは群馬県民だったのね!
15:00 - It is so strange that Japanese can live and work at the mountain and area, and not have a clue what you were trying to explain to them. You'd think that at least one of them, especially the older ones, would probably be able to figure out what you were talking about.
If that was human poop, where's the toilet paper? Lmao!
A mystery I can never answer.. but it seriously looks human, doesn't it?
BCpov I allways bring toilet paper with me, even though a bike park makes me feel... "pampered".
It looks too perfect
kamosika!
はい! 驚くべきことだ!
Don't worry my wife makes fun of me too!
Haha, Yuka loves when I crash :)
15:05 fucking horns of furry ha ha ha
haha. boars don't have horns coming out of their head like that ;)
Hares have big ears.
You're right!
A wild boar would have messed you up and stolen your bike.
Yes it would have!
