    I noticed that the guitarist from Elvana used the same wireless system when they played the Cambridge Junction recently. Was quite surprised to be honest but they obviously perform well.

    I found a lot of difference between this wireless and my cable. That's not a bad thing necessarily, but I find the Boss puts out a significantly hotter signal than my cable, which means my pedals respond differently, so have to be adjusted. Not a problem for me, but it is worth mentioning.
    I rely on a noise gate and the noise floor is higher with the Boss (I think due to its overall output being higher).
    The hotter signal may work better for some players anyway. It can be prone to interference if there is a lot of wifi traffic in the room you're playing, which is why I also have a couple of other cheap wireless units that run on UHF and 5.8GHz wifi in case the 2.4GHz wifi of the Boss has problems.
    Wireless is great for convenience and I use it live all the time, but there are a few things to consider to make sure you're covered.
    In my opinion it's worth getting a few cheap wireless units (I recommend the Ammoon 5.8GHz for example) that work on different ranges for the price of the Boss. I already got the Boss first and it is the best one I have for battery charge. I get close to 8 hours on mine and it is about 4 years old.
    There is a a YT user call Scott Uhl who has loads of info on all these wireless units. Well worth checking out.

    I only recently went wireless and didn't have high hopes for it not sucking tone or having latency... But soon realized I've missed out for YEARS! Way more fun to play with no cords in the way! And I can't notice any negative issues up to about 15 meters which is still awesome.

    Been using the Line6 G10 since 2016. Loved it straight away, no tripping or snagging, no chance of dogs pulling cables or guitars off of stands. No chance of getting an electric shock from the amp :). Maybe a little less hum/noise from having no lengthy cable running to the pedalboard. I think it has slightly higher treble, but that can be explained by the lack of a cable capacitance sucking the highs.
    One thing I liked about the Line 6 is that the reciever is more like a pedal and has a second output. So you can send your signal to two amps, or a dry signal to your computer if you are mixing or making effects, using modeling software like Line 6 HX Native.

    That was a great demo! Thanks. You’re wrecking my life 🙄. I’ve been looking for a different amp ‘thing’ and kind of decided on a small stack. I just play in my living room and definitely don’t need to blow the neighbors’ pictures off their walls. I just want something that is good quality and sounds really good. You’ve been showing some great amps but the Boss Artist Head MK II was off the charts for me. I can get it bundled with a 2x12 cab right in my price range. Yay! When I was shopping 🛒 I noticed that Boss wireless 🛜 system and thought that would get a lot of cableage off the floor. I’m ready to set up a pedal board and that will really clean things up because I don’t have that many pedals. The Boss wireless says it has a 50 feet range. That’s far. For me, from my living room and beyond where my car is parked outside. It’s a little pricey but I’m definitely getting it. Convenience rules. I already put it in my cart online. I’m tired of stepping over cables and the dog 🐶 walking over everything. This will make life so much easier. The sound quality in your demo was perfect throughout. You’re probably right about the battery 🪫 being fully charged making the difference. Thanks for more good info. 👍☮️🌞🎸🎵🩷

    Haven't been able to watch your videos for quite some time, so I've got a lot to catch up with... :) Anyway, I see you've finally convinced yourself to go wireless. Welcome to the club! No more stepping on cables (sudden death silence), no more cables tangled or all tied up. Especially on small stages where you don't have any space to move it's a blessing, at least for me. I just laugh at people who are saying it's "killing my sound"...I mean, I haven't met Joe Bonamassa but I think he's the only nerd who could really hear that. The rest is just plain "b*ll sh*t, cork sniffing. Even if it's not just in your head and there is a difference, with a bit of tweaking this difference will be manageable, at least in the in the clubs I gig it is. Besides, my receiver is on my board and has this possibility to choose my cable length. Just enjoy the freedom.
    p.s Try it with p90's, there will be so much less noise....

    I wish I could try one before ordering. I have a Yamaha THR with the Line 6 wireless system, and get a lot of cut outs. I assume due to 2.4g congestion. Gets frustrating, would be nice to find one with that issue.

    • @schmoofadoop
      @schmoofadoop ปีที่แล้ว

      You might try using a WiFi spectrum analyzer and look at the 2.4 channel utilization around you... inSSIDer is a great one, there are many though depending on your computer / phone operating system, good luck!

    • @NFMorley
      @NFMorley ปีที่แล้ว

      Another suggestion (although issue is prob congestion) - check if there way to 're-pair' the transmitter and THR before you start playing, as usually this process scans for interference and tries to pick the optimum channel at that time (a lot of routers and devices will periodically 'channel hop' so which sub-channels are lowest traffic may alter day to day).

    I am surprised it is not made 'angled'! I use a angled metal jack on the guitar side 'cable' - I am not a pro, just a home hobby...
    Personally and from a interference point of view, but for a Pro like you it would be better a system - yes it costs more. But they tend to be very well designed in term of interference as many are using Bluetooth over 2.4GHz or just a RF on 2.4GHx which is used by the majority of mobile phones. Wi-Fi routers etc. - just a thought! I hope at least they haven a frequency change, just in case! Try and get one sponsored video, maybe you get a 50% discount or similar!
