Hi! So, by better ventilation, you mean in general being able to "breather" in the armor? I can say at least one thing about my soft padding. My gambeson has the slit in the arm pits. So when I raise my arm, its basically wide open. Not something your going to want to do during a fight lol, but for just trying to cool off it helps. Besides I feel pretty mobile because the gambeson arms arent connected to the torso.
@@BachataKnight Thank you for your answer. Just one more question that I don't think is addressed in the video, is there any overarching reason or benefit of having your Cuisse plates covered?
@@custodianvrael6471 i wouldn't say i really get any benefit from them other than just having to do it with this kit to look more historically accurate. If anything, it might help hide the visibility of the gaps on the rear of my thighs.
@Inadequate_Gorilla I'm not a fan of chauses with this armor. The legs fit where I want them without needing to point them to any under layer. Sweatpants are more flexible. I do wear paintball padded leggings to make up for the thinner sweatpants material. And it's all hidden under my baggy pants and enclosed greaves so both modern is visible
I'm working on that traditional set now. I really wanted to go full plate but think im going to get a brigandine because the helmets that match have better visibility. It'll look more traditional for sure. Still going to use this set for single duels and things though :) Yeah back of the legs on a lot of these armor kits are wide open 😬
I use padded. I'm on my 3rd cbelt though. Because of durability..... padded on both sets of armor. I like the feel better and feels less restricted when bending and twisting.
@Thomas Anderson nice!! Ok so yeah just a tip then, for cbelts, they sag pretty quickly once you've put them through armor wearing process. If you get a fabric belt and it gets broken in and too loose - you can sew on new horizontal straps, or unsew and reattach the existing ones. Fabric let's you do that easier than Leather. Also, if the holes start to sag on the fabric (one of mine did) I fixed it by making some square leather arming points and sewing them to the fabric belt and it makes it much more durable. If you need any further explanation on that, let me know:)
@@BachataKnight thanks for that I ordered a arming belt from age of craft seems pretty similar to what every seller has . So far I have all my padded stuff and my brig so trying to train as much as I can I’m doing this on my own kinda I found a SCA group I’m going to be training with once a week but I practice every day at home with about 50lbs of weight on me
I had steel toes at the time.... actually this is a good point. I should redo a video with the sabs and a different type of armor just to have another style and arming point out here for video reference
Cute little squire.
Ha!! Little did I know that day, that he would also beat me in every match up 😆
Very interesting to see a more modern take on armor. Also love the Brigandine chest piece
Its been through years of use and still have only had to replace one strap of leather. The brigandine ❤ thank you
Do you have any recommendations for Burhurt armours that have better ventilation? I'm Based down under.

For mine, the easiest way is to get onto Facebook and look up Aleksey Perebeynos and contact him through messenger or on one of his posts
@@BachataKnight thank you sir .. i will
You need to get some chausses man ;)
Yes!!! LoL, truth. For now it is all hidden, BUT I am working on a second European Kit, so I will have them for that ;)
How would that work?

chauses?!?!

Man the back of your legs are not that protected as for the armor its cool but I'm still surprised you didn't go for a more traditional Knight look

Is your C-belt leather or a padded one ?

I’m just starting out building my kit so looking for information and your videos have been a great help

Also are you on instagram?
UN PANZER UMANO🤣🤣😱
LOL Basically yes!
No Sabatons? We also recommend our fighters to wear a jockstrap for the men and Jill strap for the women. Groin cup or strap protects the genitals 👍
