    After 18 years of let downs being a Raiders fan, where I don’t see them showing basic competent thought processes at the owner/GM/coaching level and trading their best players for peanuts, and ditching their home state I was born and raised in - this kid DeVito has been so inspiring in just his brief stint as a starter that I’m now a Giants fan, and staying one, going forward.

      welcome aboard. Granted we've had some incompetent ownership/GM/coaching ourselves the last several years, which is why we've been at the bottom of the league in that time. But hopefully with Daboll and Schoen we're turning things around. This year didn't go so well to start but they're bouncing back lately; let's see how the rest of the season plays out and how next season goes

      Might help that he has Andrew thomas blocking for him which Jones didn't. And yes one dominant lineman can make a big difference .. And they simplified the playbook for tommy devito Basically, they're running the same offense with him as they were running with Jones last year and they tried to switch it up to the beginning of the year with Jones and it didn't work. They kept him in the pocket when he should have been running.

    Best breakdown of plays I've ever watch!!!!!

  • @Willie_McBride
    @Willie_McBride 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    I don’t know how I just found this channel, but I just unsubscribed from 2 other ‘breakdown” type TH-cam channels, & subscribed to this one .
    Now, as a Giants fan obviously I have a more vested interest in this video than others, but I just love the way Chase breaks these clips down! I’m trying not to drink the Kool - Aid on DeVito. I mean he beat two really bad football teams in his first two games, regardless of how good he looked. But watching Daniel dissect his play against a playoff caliber team showed me that TD has some real shit to his game!! ( That’s a good thing!!😂$).
    I liked that this breakdown also included misses, but emphasized what was done right!
    Identifying defenses is possibly the most important ‘intangible’ aspect of a quarterback’s game. Showing us that DeVito is already growing in that regard leads you to believe that maybe the G-men really have something here. Great great video! I always try to make sure that I learn something when I watch a video like this. I learned a LOT from this one! Thanks Chase!

    This is really great! Glad I discovered it, despite watching every Giants game since '90 still not sure I know much about football at a deep level. DeVito has a quick release and throws tight, fast spirals and can get it downfield along with having pocket presence. Those are all the things that Jones lacked and why his receivers would give up running routes hard for him since he hardly ever got it out to them throwing those slow wounded ducks. This is an indictment on Jones of why he couldn’t succeed with this offensive line who werent really all that bad, but he was and made them look bad.

    Your opinion. I've watched either ESPN or the NFL Network and they said that the Giants running game was good in that game. Prior to his two long runs Barkley had a 2.1 YPC avg. Right now I think that Barkley has a 4.1 YPC avg. I watch every giant game. Every game Barkley runs about 13 times for 30 yards. He'll then have maybe 2-3 carries for 20 yards. Those carries then improve his YPC avg to around 4.1. I think that I'm the ONLY Giant fan that believes that we screwed up by not trading Barkley for some picks. We drafted a running back (Eric Gray) last year in round #5. If we weren't going to play him that better pick would have been center Luke Wypler from Ohio State. Gray rushed for over 1,300 yards last year and is a great option out of the backfield. He's a way better pass protector than Barkley. He's faster & and more explosive than Barkley too. There is no reason to only run RB's that are free agents at the end of the year. If we did trade Barkley that would have left the Giants we money to go FA shopping for OL & DB's. It's obvious that the Giants are going to sign Barkley. Now, if we don't how bad of a move that is not trading him. He now can call the shots as far as the money goes. Why did they trade for a 30 year old TE whose last good year was 2020? He's also the highest paid TE. This isn't how you rebuild a club.

    I think that Barkley play was not a fumble. He was tripped up by a defender which is why he fell like that. It just took him longer to fall. I think that’s why Barkley didn’t react to it because he knew he was tripped up by a defender.

    • @adamf6582
      @adamf6582 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      If he fell immediately after being tripped then it wouldn’t have been a fumble but because he gathered his step again and then fell it counts as him not giving himself up which is why it was ruled a fumble.

    • @retrocny5625
      @retrocny5625 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's a gray area call. He was touched on the trip up, but you can argue he regained his balance and enough time had passed to say he continued the play as a runner and that's why it was ruled a fumble as no one had then caused him to go to the ground, and he didn't "give himself up". Again, the give himself up thing is a gray area to me because I originally thought he went down on his own, to stay in bounds and keep the clock rolling. So I thought they would rule it giving himself up, but they didn't. Giants still won the game, it is what it is.
      Saquon is incredibly elusive, fast and way stronger than meets the eye, but his issue has always been that he has this "out of control" type of style to his running game. I mean he's just bouncing all over the place, side to side, bouncing off guys, like a ping pong ball lol. It's a double edged sword and has gotten him in trouble before with fumbles. I still consider him one of the top 3 running backs in football though. The only person I'd confidently say is ahead of him is McCaffrey. Saquon is the entire package similar to CMC though. He's an elusive back that can make guys miss, he's got the strength to truck and stiff arm and fall forward when getting tackled, and he's one of the best receiving backs in the NFL. Some are saying the Giants should trade him while he still has value, and I'd only agree to that if Saquon himself wanted to explore his options elsewhere while he's still in his 20s... but as long as Saquon wants to keep playing in NY, the Giants would be idiots to get rid of him. Having him in the backfield ensures that opposing teams HAVE to gameplan for him.
