To be honest i feel myself grown out of the whole extreme-metal- thing in the last few years, besides some really ingineous projects like for example- Ihsahan theres is nothing worth to mention. Even Mayhem seemed to suck over the years, couldnt help myself but to skip their Gigs, Attilla was a kind of Idol for me back in the days in terms of vocals (was in a black metal band myself), but it just wore itself out for me over time. But this Gig man, this is so great, to see this one of the first and one of a kind Black- Metal-Album played live in full Scale with Attilla on the mic, it totally blown me away! This one is simply a must-see!!
I love bands like this: A small group of a few crazy people who created something demented from scratch and changed their scene's standards forever. Nowadays, that's impossible 'cause the labels will release only bands with a big name because they don't want to do a label's work, which is promoting a new promising band.

@@VuotoPneumaNN it's too simplistic...Deathcrush doesn't sound like the Mayhem of the 90s and what would be the template for Norwegian black metal, it's not 2nd wave. Same goes for Bathory; you could argue the 1st two albums are 1st wave and the 3rd one is 2nd wave.
Glad to see him back with Tormentor. Mayhem died when dead shot himself. Yes as innovators of the scene U cant dislike but I will say the music is not impressive after dead. Yea maybe fucken life eternal. Everything after has been talentless shit. Mayhem has its footholds in the advancement of the black metal scene but as far as the talent of music goes gets put on a pedestal (besides when dead was the singer). The ones in the early 90's that brought their own unique evil sound were dissection, dark funeral, marduk, rotting christ, impaled nazarene, lord belial, and im probably missing alot more for usa bands absu is the best and will always be. Destroyer 666 is in there, and if we want to go to the 80s, its venom and fucken bathory. thats it. fuck off hellhammer and whatever else. If we want to go to the roots black sabbath black sabbath album was the first album that had an "evil" sound and lyric. Venom was next and then bathory came and invoked the black metal scream. If I was going to give credit to the innovators of black metal it would be to venom, bathory, and tormentor as their first album came out in 86. Also now that dimmu borgir is about as gay and mainsteam as fucken n *gger shit in the us their first album for all tid and the song under korpens vinger was fucken phenominal. Celtic frost can suck my dick. Im only 32 and started my metal journey at 13 with pantera slayer yac yac, then was shown dimmu borgir for all tid and stormblast and those albums are gold. Totally forgot to mention emperor and immortal . Best band of new times is watain and taake. have a fucken horrible night invoke violence and die sooner. Cheers
There are so many great venom inspired 1st wave black metal bands from the 80’s besides bathory, tormentor and hellhammer/Celtic frost included. Bulldozer’s “the day of wrath” is amazing for example
Dead is overrated because had depression and shot himself in the head, not to mention his self inflicted injuries on stage. I mean, the guy is more known for his controversies than his musical work. Take Live in Leipzig for instance, the band never intended to release that crap given how bad it is, but Euronymous wanted to tribute Dead somehow so that's how the album was put out. Mayhem has already done its part by creating Norwegian black metal, The inner circle, Helvete store and for giving us the black metal magnum opus record, DMDS. They should now(actually quite a while ago) put the band to rest, but I guess Hellhammer and Necro just want to make money out of Mayhem's fame and prestige within the scene.
Mayhem has been riding Deathcrush for 30 years. Seventh Day of Doom sends anything that boring ass band has ever done home on a stretcher. Who can even name a Mayhem album beyond De Mysteriis, Deathcrush, Live in Leipzig, or Dawn? You can't tell me people actually still give a shit about whatever lame dogshit they've most recently put out. Pretty much goes the same for every second wave black metal band. Darkthrone? More like Snoozethrone. Immortal? Well, they could have been mortal and died after Damned in Black or At The Heart of Winter because literally who gives a shit. Emperor? Anthems is cool. But how much credibility could someone like ihsahn have with this gay emo shit he puts out now, wearing turtlenecks and liking the Beatles and shit. The Norwegian second wave guys wanted to do something new and against the grain but all they did was paint themselves into a corner with weak, talentless music for wimps. How's sticking it to death metal treating those guys? At least, say, Cannibal Corpse or Immolation are consistent. Yeah Euronymous, you sure showed them you little half shirt wearing twink! Lol. Who gets stabbed to death with a pocket knife? What a poser.
