      Intelligent people they are. I like this couple a lot since even before they first set foot on the Philippines way back in 2019. Jumping Places creators are few of the well-travelled vloggers who have higher IQ than most other vloggers. Many foreign vloggers are dumb or with very low IQ. Most dumb people complain a lot. They don't realize that they're in a foreign country with a different culture and different lifestyle. Most of the foreigners traveling around the world have higher IQ than those who simply stay in our country to fool the locals to earn their monthly keep by using clickbaits often using superlatives on the titles of their videos to stoke the gullibility of the Filipinos viewers who are, in turn, just as dumb.

    OMG! I used to service Camotes Island once a month to book orders for a major manufacturer. I would back ride across the entire island. In Cebu, I would arrive at the port very early in the morning as there were no schedules then. It was a rather large boat, not a ship, and you could literally touch the water while traveling to Camotes. We were greeted by friendly dolphins along the way but midway between Cebu and Camotes, there were a lot of killer sharks circling the boat( perhaps waiting for the boat to sink or capsize) for a delicious meal. It never failed to give me nightmares days before my scheduled call on the island.

    The correct name of that food is 包子/Baozi, which is pronounced like Paozi, so it is written Pao in Philippines;
    That steamed stuffed bun has a variety of stuffed in various Asian countries, and it is a very convenient snack.
    My country's buns are full of stuff, so you won't be disappointed if you eat it in my country.

    The white bread bun you ate is Siopao (SHOH-pow). In other countries they are called Bao. It's fluffy dough with fillings of pork in sweet bbq sauce (pork asado siopao), chicken in sweet BBQ sauce (chicken asado Siopao) , sausage, ground chicken (chicken siopao).

    I went to Camotes last august and had a great time. I just hope that Ocean Jet resume the boat connection from Cebu, that would make it easier to get to Camotes and would improve their tourism potential. Be aware that the main roads in Camotes are being rebuilt and it can be tiring driving a motorcycle there. Enjoy this beautiful island

  • @rv_PH
    @rv_PH ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Was pretty excited to watch this because…it's a ferry ecperience and as much as I'm a sucker for these types of trips and transportation-the good, the challenges. It's also actually a great way to appreciate any new territory, don't you think? "Nearer the ground" as it were, than from above even if these seem so near yet far until you dock, and at a good and bright day as you had. ü
    At just over Php300 from Cebu to Camotes is a great deal, much cheaper than a Grab if you think about it. The ferries aren't always full but services pretty much the Camotes Islanders to Cebu and back, for goods and supplies, school or week-day work and such. You're right about the accommodation not lived in for a while-Camotes Is. isn't as touristy as you've already discovered (much less vloggers) and many of its locals are elsewhere pretty much. Great to know you found yourselves an alternative place nearby to hangout, have a conversation and nourishment (the karaoke though…). Hopefully, the local authorities come upon this video and start giving the Island a second look. Otherwise, we wish you both great discoveries and experience and in the island. Cheers.

    I hope Carol was OK with the moldy smell. I understand her issue with it as I have the same allergy to mold. The challenge is it’s hard to smell a rental on VRBO or any online site. Smoke is another bad one but that seems to be better communicated. Thanks for showing us another beautiful place.

    Some notable PH diving sites you might want to consider visiting:
    TUBBATAHA REEFS (Palawan) - a UNESCO World Heritage Site; an atoll reef with a very high
    density of marine species.
    VERDE ISLAND PASSAGE (Batangas) - has been called the 'Center of the Center of Marine
    Biodiversity' with the highest concentration of marine life in the world!
    MOALBOAL (Cebu) - turtles and millions of sardines.
    OSLOB (Cebu) and DONSOL (Sorsogon) - whalesharks.
    APO ISLAND (Negros) - turtles.
    SAMAL ISLAND (Davao) - giant clams (some a meter wide).

    Nice to see Camotes Island at least here in YT. @Jumping Places, dont forget to visit their assortment of underground caves since they all come with natural cave pools inside. Also they have about 2-3 waterfalls in Camotes, make sure you drop by to visit there too. I visited there before way back 2013-2014 and enjoyed there a lot.
