For those wondering, about 15 minutes of technical difficulties was cut at 11:38 (available on the Extra Sauce channel) and the change that fixed the framerate issue for Vinny was enabling DX9 in the launcher options. Worth mentioning just in case any of you plan on trying this mod out for yourselves

Just note that this isn't always the solution because it's dependent on the PC. For me, DX9 usually has a slight decrease in performance. People could try experimenting with the Frame Limiter hack's settings (again, settings like "Waitable Timer" and "Sleep" vary between PC's). The game usually causes issues due to the framerate not being capped, but I have no idea if that's related to what Vinny experienced.
@@ObsoIeteQuality Yeah, I haven't used this particular application, but I know the preferred rendering engine does tend to vary between hardware setups on things like emulators, so that is important to keep in mind. Mainly, I just wanted to point it out for people who aren't aware of the Extra Sauce channel and might think the framerate and loading times were magically fixed after the crash, only to run into the same issues on their end and not understand why they persist
Vinny did mess with the fps limiter in the technical difficulties segment (I think he ran it uncapped for the remainder of the video), but it was crashing even before he changed anything, so he might've had something else configured improperly or it could've just been one of those outlier issues on his particular rig, especially with how streaming software can sometimes cause issues when capturing certain games. Hard to say without actually being on his computer, honestly

I am so happy to see you check out this stupid thing that took me a few years to make, you did miss quite a bit of the special gags and stuff so I recommend playing some of the original SHAR then coming back to this for hopefully a better time.
Amazing job on this mod! As a fan of the Simpsons, Wallace and Grommit, and KoTH, I feel this is my avengers infinity war. Makes me not only want a ShaR remake but also a KoTH game in the same style.
Vinny doesn't double back, he only has the time to play something once unfortunately.
He has more than enough time, he just doesn't care because his channel is profit oriented, that's why he's pushing to cater to more and more kids because his 2013 era userbase is tuning out. @@scrittle
Your argument doesn't have a sound premise. Generating content for profit let's Vinny put more time into his hobbies without resorting to selling out his band or overworking himself (Pokemon X). It sounds like you're unhappy with the skibidi/reactionary content he's been pumping out lately to widen the reach of his audience, but like all nitpicks, his main content and streamer personality is entertaining.

vinny's sheer driving ability is such a whiplash compared to jerma's unmodded hit and run experience

As cool as this mod is, it hits even harder if you’re already familiar with the game and modding scene for it. It’s pretty impressive from a mod standpoint and does a lot of quite advanced scripting stuff. The FMV cutscenes are literally 1 to 1 with the original cutscene style of the game and it uses the actual models used in the original. I think it might even use the actual animation software too. It’s insane.
I mean yeah, but that's kinda every good mod. If you know the game more then you can appreciate the touches even more.
In a way it's a little more impressive that people unfamiliar with the game are jumping in starting with a strong mod.

As much as I'd love to watch him play it, he would never be able to beat some of the "harder" missions. And he has no attachment to The Simpsons.

@@GreyLeno It's not that bad once you learn the route, but Binny is a streamer and thus has no patience to sit down and learn said route.
As much as I like this game as well, I do remember that it does get difficult later on. Jerma's experience shows that off, even I wasn't able to finish it.
The further into the game you get the more the missions rely on the player using the numerous shortcuts to achieve victory - something that isn't always clear.
With that being said - this game is so fun to play that it became a cult classic and that should be reason enough to recommend it to Vin.
I love how the mod uses good old fashioned sentence mixing.

The "gyatt" is a shortened version of goddamn, mostly used as a reaction to a woman's "shapely" features.
"Rizzler" is one who has "rizz", which itself is literally the same thing as the early 2000s "game" or "charm". Possibly derived from chaRISma, but is much more of an internet thing than actual AAV, although also originating there. It's very rarely used earnestly, being employed to over-qualify cheesy pick-up lines in a comedic way.
Honestly, any time I see Rizzler I just think of Rinzler from TRON Legacy,
the absurdity of it greatly adds to the comedy for me.

To be honest the game's driving takes some getting used to because there's no lateral physics and the steering's so sensitive it might as well be digital. The cars don't really have handling characteristics, just different turning radii, so your first instinct won't be to barrel through a turn at full speed like the game wants.
The menu music being "Strange Things" from the Toy Story soundtrack is so good.

I think if Vinny drove about checking out the town for a bit, he'd beat the first mission after 2 or 3 tries. You're up against the wall if youre figuring out the map and car handling on a time limit.

They're good at toying with my emotions in a way where I keep thinking I understand what the core theme of the mod is and then they yank it away.
Vinny's gameplay is on par with my niece playing a cutscene with the unplugged controller.
Maybe do a vanilla play through, just to get a handle on the controls and to learn the shortcuts.

I did some Simpsons Hit and Run gameplay many years ago on my gaming channel @HuskyGamersUNITE . I was going for a 100% playthrough, but didn't finish it. Many people have done playthroughs of the game and it has got plenty of attention.

Never would I have expected to see someone as obscure and out of nowhere as the lego Unikitty show's Hawkodile, but I guess it's on brand for a mod like this
The thing about the show "allegedly" removing those scenes, even if it isn't true, still illustrated a point that I think is important. On digital/streaming, these companies can censor/edit the movies and shows at any time, and even if this particular case is not true, that DOES happen. On the physical disc (Blu Ray, 4K, whatever), it can NOT be edited/censored and is preserved as it was (plus you OWN that disc, it can NOT be taken away from you if they lose distribution rights, and you get the BEST quality)
Even discs can be edited and censored like the Daria discs, downloading fan and group versions is the peak.
@@SFTaYZa Yeah that can definitely happen with re-releases and such (not sure the exact situation with that particular show), but if you do have a physical copy that is unedited/uncensored, it is preserved like that and they cannot come by and edit the disc that you have. I suppose that's the main reason why VHS tapes of the original Star Wars trilogy WITHOUT the "special edition" changes are still highly sought-after.

They can be edited if they are pressed to disc as edited from the streaming service if the streaming service came first. (ie. Bluey and the banned episodes are not on the DVD's main list - but they added the original controversial eps to the Target Special Edition as exclusive bonus episodes). What Sam means is movies that are on DVD first, then get put to streaming, but then some woke mind rot decides something in it is illegal, so the show is edited or removed from streaming. They are still there on DVD's. @@SFTaYZa

Rockstar didn't sue over Hit & Run being similar to GTA. Sega sued over Road Rage being similar to Crazy Taxi.
Rockstar were considering it, until their legal team realized that the R* stuff is trademark and copyright appropriately but the actual mechanics of "Driving around a city and taking cars to do open-ended missions" wasn't. I remember seeing it in a few ancient magazines in a few interviews back with GTA3 was considered "Top of the Line" and "New" but after that nothing really progressed.
It also could've been someone making up stories to sell said mags; but with how defensive companies are of their property and IP's I really wouldn't be surprised if it wasn't discussed in a boardroom briefly before somebody mentioned they didn't copyright the concepts they utilized and didn't consider it until they realized the genre was going to be popular.
Keep in mind SHAR dropped in 2003. This was way before "GTA likes" became any sort of thing. It was basically right after GTA Vice City dropped and a year before San Andreas. @@EddieSpaghetti69

Surprised that Take Two threatened to sue. US courts have ruled that game rules alone are not protected by copyright. See Atari v Amusement World for an example.
