@@Major98 i know doesn’t mean I have to care about her. So what’s the problem with me not caring about a character I barely know anything about. Like the starter mission were you’re whole crew but sense Cal knows them, by that logic should I care about them? No
That’s a fair point but I’m afraid yours isn’t. Using the terminology ‘every Jedi game’ and ‘always pays out’ implies that there is at least 3 games otherwise you’re only commenting on the sequel being more ambitious than the first which is what sequels are supposed to do.
If its meant to be a trilogy, its really about Cal's journey. In Fallen Order he was learning how to be a jedi in a time when all jedi are dead and gone. He learns he is not alone and progresses until he becomes a jedi night. In the Second game, Survivor, we see Cal bitter and feeling defeated, what outcome has his actions affected. The overarching theme of the game is watching Cal arrive at the desire to continue fighting if not for himself but for others, he is not pure jedi, but he has adopted the overarching mantra and ideals of the Jedi. With this, the third game will probably be the next level of his development, that of teacher and Jedi master, as Kata becomes his pupil. With Cere gone, he now has to take on the role of teacher and master. Just my opinion. Always more interested in Cal's internal struggle.
Was actually a fan of the High Republic storyline in this, it actually made that era intriguing with its overall aesthetic and Dagan was a sick character I thought.
Agree. I’d they use the empire too much things will get stale. Was the perfect sequel in my opinion with real story progression. Had they choose to make this story all Cal vs Empire round 2 then it’s gonna start to feel highly unrealistic that he keeps ‘winning’. Here he fought other threats that felt natural, it’s didn’t feel forced at all, while still suffering real losses as well towards the end as the Empire tracks him down and gets their Empire strikes back moment that will make whatever happens in the sequel feel more real and earned whatever happens. If the trilogy is the conclusion to Cal’s fight with the Empire, Which it undoubtedly will be, and that’s the whole focus of the game just fighting empire forces and inquisitors and such then it won’t be stale because of the plot in this game being different to that just enough but also advancing Cal’s struggle against the empire at the same time.
Yea , the High Republic seems to work better on screen , we still have SW Eclipse and the TV series Acolyte, that could make it that much more interesting . Wish Dagan was still alive for the third game for more screen time and development.
Gonna get called a shill but I think more people should give High Republic a chance. Yeah some novels are better than others but the same could be said for any other era. I honestly liked the first phase of books with Light of the Jedi and Rising Storm
I agree. It was refreshing to see a new enemy. I liked how out of place Dagan was as well. A relic of a bygone Era. He didn't have to be an enemy, but he chose his path due to anger and resentment. Only thing I wish would have happened is seeing Vader be the one to kill Dagan.
I just wish the High Republic took place a couple thousand years earlier, I can't take it seriously because 200 years is not enough to be different or leave enough remnants to discover.
My theory is the 3rd game will be called star wars jedi legacy. That name was already mentioned twice now in jedi survivor and I think that'll fit perfectly for finale in the trilogy
I think Cal will be taking over as leader of the Hidden Path and hopefully that puts him in a position to meet Ashoka. But now that Cal has tapped into the Dark Side and continues to do so after the game even, I agree they need to dig into that more. Going to Korriban seems amazing. But I think we are going to see Cal struggling against his own darkness like Cere did. I keep thinking about if Merrin was given Jedi training powered up with Nightsister abilities.
I'm down for cameos/famous appearancesthat make sense and both Ahsoka or Maul make sense considering the timeline. Obviously i think Boba plays a bigger part than a cameo in the third game
it could also continue the trend of expanding in game mechanics of the previous perhaps the 3rd installment you can approach the story with a dark side or light side approach and there’s multiple endings
@@umanuu Cal’s games give me familiar vibes to Jedi Knight and Jedi Outcast from old Xbox days with Kyle Katarn. They did something similar too. Would be cool to develop dark powers like lightning.
There’s one interaction in the Mantis where Kata asks Merrin if she’d teach her to dance. To me it seems pretty obvious Kata is shaping up to be a padawan, which I’m super excited for. But, if Merrin sticks around, I wonder if she’d teach Kata more than just dancing? Either way, the story of Kata and Cal as it is right now is super promising, and does have a lot to pull from in the future. I’m fairly confident that she’ll end up as a force sensitive child, and trained as a padawan. That much I’m willing to bet on 😂 but, with Merrin being somewhat involved as of right now, I wonder if Kata could possibly learn to combine Jedi force techniques with nightsister magicks? I don’t want her to become a very occult character like Merrin was in Fallen Order, but the idea of a young girl having so much potential to go so many ways, her growing to be a Jedi who’s dabbled in magicks could be super super cool. Sort of like how Sidious was very educated in many different teachings of the force, not just the Sith
I deeply enjoyed the story from this game. A lot of people think the High Republic era is lame but i thought they did a great job of introducing it to those who haven’t read the books like myself. I hope this isn’t the end because I’m so excited to see where they could take Cal’s story next💯
It would be nice to see how Cal handles balancing the light and dark side in this next game, and could be neat to see him struggle with it. I also wanna see how he interacts with people from here on. A LOT of people have betrayed him, so I wanna know how careful he’ll become when making friends.
I bet you Kata will be what “saves” him. Cal will struggle with the dark side emotions and struggle with his feelings to include Merrin and the unknown between the two of them and I’m sure Cal will do things that are questionable and kata will snap him back to the light side
@@darthplagueis7055 it could be kind of the opposite I think, kata could see how strong cal is when he feeds into his dark side but it makes it so some situation kata saves cal by using the dark side(assuming she's force sensitive) and cal could come to the realization he's going down the wrong path
@@darthplagueis7055I agree with this. Kata will save him because he’s just witnessed a case study of what happens when your attachments lead to the dark side (Bode). Kata will serve as a reminder of this experience and hopefully prevent him from falling to the dark side.
Now that they have Tanalorr, and Merrin has her new powers of reconstructing long destroyed objects and structures, we could see them at some point undoing the destruction of the holocron and regaining access to the list of force sensitive children, essentially giving Luke a head start on his new Jedi Order when/if Cal crosses paths with him in the future.
Cal could find a Sith Holocron and open it and that’s what teaches him how to use force lightning or something. Which would be a good explanation on how he’d learn how to do that.
...but then it would open the plot hole on how Rey unknowingly unlocked yet another Force power. You know, random mind trick, random force pull, random lightning. At least for now we can make the excuse that she got a bit too angry fighting Kylo Ren.
@@mac1991sethYeah well the first guy to ever do force lightning must've done it either randomly or figure out how to do it on their own. That can happen to Cal as well.
We already saw Cal leading towards the dark side. He lets his emotions guide him just like Anakin did before he turned to the dark side. It is possible that Cal could turn to the dark side and then turn back to the light side and help our heroes fight against the empire for a final battle right before his death/or goes off on his own journey with Merrin and enjoys the rest of his life with her and having Kata as an adopted daughter. He is emotionally attached to everything and characters dying has a major impact on him, more than the standard Jedi.
One thing i would Like is instead of just 2 stances give us all of them Like ghost of tshushima does...and i having forms would be Great cause cal and his combat style does get a Tiny bit Boring after some time
This is my theory: Cal in the 3rd game learns how to control both the light side and the dark side. We see later in Jedi Survivor that Cal starts to tap into his darker side, but we can tell he is resentful of it, and doesn’t want to do it. I would love for him to go down more of what Ashoka went down, where she is neither a Jedi or a Sith, but in the middle, learning how to control both the light and dark side to her advantage without becoming lost and pulled too far to either side. This would be a cool narrative for Cal to become the first Grey Jedi (fyi I have no idea when Ashoka officially became a grey Jedi so I could be wrong). But that would be so cool and would kinda give some big importance to Cal in the galaxy if he really was the first Grey Jedi to appear. Or at least, the first one to appear in a long time. Obviously Kata will have a significant role in the story, so what if Cal’s fear of losing Kata or failing his Teacher Cere’s wish could really have him struggle with the dark side. But that’s just my theory, don’t take it too literal lmao.
Jedi: (insert name here) - Plot Idea I would love to see an interest in Cal learning of Vaapad and wanting to learn it himself to perfectly balance his emotions. Maybe this would give him the chance to finally create his own lightsaber as a means of finally moving on from the past. I could potentially see an encounter with Mace Windu if this were to happen. I know we have seen Cal with a “master” in both games so far, however, this could be his final step into ascending into the true Jedi that he could be! Samuel L. Jackson has also been extremely vocal in his desire to revisit the role of Mace and this could be a great opportunity for that to happen. Cal crafts his own purple lightsaber and and we finally get closure for Mace as we learn what truly happened on that fateful night on Coruscant. Cal is then able to return to Merrin and Kata with what he believes to be the difference between the light side and dark side. Similar to Luke’s ideology in Legends. We then explore the idea of Cal and Merrin attempting to bring Kata up the best way they can. Just some thoughts I had! Gotta admit, tell me this game wouldn’t be 🔥!
personally i'd LOVE these ideas: 1. Cal mentors Kata 2. We try to avoid plot points done by previous ones (Jedi holocron again? Opening the wrong bacta tank again?) 3. Cal delves into dark side powers to blend it with good intentions 4. He becomes crucial to the hidden path or Rebel alliance, hoping for a cameo 5. His story ends in perhaps, triggering/affecting battle of Yavin/Endor or anything Empire-breaking, as Rogue one ended with A New Hope.
I wish they had more decision making like in kotor with the dark side and light side options dominating your path and what abilities you can use so you can roleplay a jedi sith or grey jedi
Yeah, I agree, but frankly I don't think the creators have the spine to do it. Modern Star Wars is all about "there is no good or evil," so there are no consequences and nothing matters.
Story jumps another 5-10 years, with Kal being Kata's father figure essentially. Teaching her to protect herself, but she not showing her force affinity until crucial moment when she tries to save Kal/Merrin. From there, training her basics of force/lightsaber. 3/4 of the game playing as Kal, 1/4 of the game as a grown up Padawan Kata, trying to rescue Kal from Empire at the end of the game. My prediction, see you in 3-5 years
Personally not a fan of the cal becoming an apprentice of Darth Vader, but I like the other ideas for sure! Would be interesting to see cal meet Ashoka maybe?
That would be a great story to see Cal further battle his dark side as Vader tries to manipulate him in classic fashion. Having Merin, Greez and Kata around as a support group help remind Cal to stay in the light as well as a force ghost interjection from Cere at a pivotal moment could really elevate the story. We’ve all had moments where it’s easy to give in and having good friends, parents, or some form of support really helps in those times. Totally relatable
Force ghost isn't just something anyone can do. It's something that is trained for. Qui-Gonn learned it, and taught it to Yoda and Obi-Wan (who presumably taught it to Anakin).
It would be nice if the third game brings it full circle and brings back the eluded zeffo species. Travelling into the unknown regions as cal would make sense if the hidden path is established on kobah. Cal hopefully embraces the path between the light and dark, that would give us an interesting look at the character development
I kinda hope cal walks the grey jedi road more, kinda like qui gon, and teaches kata the same. Maybe he does start his own order on tanalor like dagan wanted to do, and they dont see the force as dark and light, its all about how u use it I really enjoyed the force unleashed-like story u theorized for the next game as well
Doesnt Cere specifically tell Cal to guide her through the force It heavily implies Kata is force sensitive, i feel that Cal is gonna be her teacher and her adoptive parent since both he and Merrin didnt really wanna kill Bode, he just forced their hand and amazingly Kata seems to understand that but could end up resenting them all for it even
I really enjoyed Cal’s story he’s one of my favorites now. And growing with him. However I already started seeing people being angry bec Cals actor is apparently not diverse enough… I hope they don’t switch to the little girl yet because of the woke ppl. There is so much more to explore with Cal especially his battle with the light and dark.
@@nickgarberg19 people are mad that Cal is white even tho he’s actually Irish. And I think it was pretty diverse, Cear is a black woman and she’s pretty cool they made her a little OP in this game but is ok imo.
Nice theories. However your issue is Timeline. The 3 Games that Respawn is doing take place between Epi 3 and 4, now I think they could say that Cal and his friends are in the same Galaxy that Thrawn is in, but he would be close to 70yrs old. Cata/Kati would be late 30's maybe. The Witch could simply not age.
I really hope that they don’t follow the GoW model. I love GoW and they did those games so well that it would be impossible to live up to. I think it would be best if they went in their own direction. Love your vids Theory!
I really wish Cal had taken Bodes Kyber Crystal and given it to Marin and taught her to cleanse it. Then she could make her own Night Sister type of lightsaber that’s green so Cal could help both Marin and Kata train in the force.
I hope there is a sequel to Jedi Survivor. It would break the cycle of Star Wars games like the KOTOR and KOTOR 2, OG Battlefront and Battlefront 2, The Force Unleashed 1 and 2, and of course Battlefront 1 and 2 from EA. Funny how there are always 2 (no more, no less) games in a series and they move on... But hopefully now we can get the third game with Cal.
I can kinda see a pattern with Cal’s story too. In Jedi Fallen Order he is still a padawan, in Jedi Survivor he is a Jedi Knight, and then in the third game I’d assume he’d be a Jedi Master. Maybe not officially, but he’d be Kata’s master. I’d imagine she’d be force sensitive like her father was
I hope they dig into Cals dark side more but they shouldnt go as far as Cal being Vaders secret apprentice. I think a story around a Sith planet like Corriban would be sick and Cal discovering more and more what the Dark Side is. I think he could be a pretty good grey Jedi
I like either storyline but omg the last one. Imagine switching between Cal and Kata; switching between getting taught the dark side by Vader and Flashbacks to Kata getting trained by Cal before he turned. OR There’s a Light/Hero side play though playing as Kata and then once you complete that, you can play as Cal through the same events but the other side - a dark/villain side play through
one thing id love to see focused on is the role fear plays for both sides of the force. it is fear that led jedi toward the path of avoidance of emotions, it is fear the sith prey on inside force users to switch over, it was fear that ultimately led to anakins turn. fear is subtly tied to every moment in this series, i think a cool thing to do with cal's third adventure is to focus on controlling and conquering those fears, that could lead him to studying the dark side, visiting old sith relics, as way to run away from his fear of the dark side.
I’m excited to see what Cal does in response to his brush with the dark side. In most real-world religions as well as the Jedi, if you have temptations you can either give in and let them consume you, or you can fight them off with the light side. Like in ROTJ Luke used the dark side just a bit when Vader threatened to find and turn Leia, Luke went crazy and beat Vader, but realized what he was doing and turned back to the light. Cal is now faced with this decision, he can either go full dark side or fight the temptations and return to the light. It’ll be interesting to see how it plays out in the next game.
He's already made that decision. As a player, you can now go Dark Side repeatedly with no cost other than filling that meter. And in story, he faced the same choice Cere did, but while Cere pulled herself back and refused to kill Vader, Cal made no such concession with Bode.
I love both games. I love the story they tell and I love how Cal has evolved to be a more complex, more complete Jedi. What I don't want is him loosing the balance between light and darkness he seems to have mastered at the end of Jedi Survivor. That's how the perfect Jedi looks to me. A Force user who uses mostly the light side but could use the dark side as a last resource without falling for it. I don't understand the fascination some people seem to have for Sith lords or dark side users. I mean, who can be happy chewing their own negativity all day long and recurring to their fears, anger, bad memories and frustration just to access the power they crave? No, thanks. I don't need the lightning thingy anyway.
I hope they have Cal follow more of a "grey jedi" path vs going full blown dark side. Always love the little grey jedi parts we got in some of the legends books and their balance between light and dark.
I like the idea of Cal going on a quest for knowledge, of both the jedi and the sith. Maybe he'll go on to discover the nature of what really happened when the republic fell, he'll figure out who Vader really is, etc. And we;ll see his reaction to all of that.
From the way the story carries so far, Cal Kestis is following exactly the same path which Anakin Skywalker walked until he turned dark. From what I understand by the end of this game Kestis already had a taste of the Dark Side of the Force and even though he somewhat resisted it, you can tell that he also embraced it and liked it on a few occasions even if it scared him. In the next game most, likely we will see him tutoring Kata if she is Force sensitive but most likely somewhere down the path of the third instalment, we see his love interest find her demise which will completely unlock his dark side and walk down that path. Maybe Kata will be one of the few elements that will help him come back to the light eventually... This is how I see the story develop, it is simple logic and the elements are there, Cal is going to face the dark side in the next game and most likely embrace it. We actually see that happening in the First game, when he looks into the wall that acts as a Mirror in the Jedi Temple showing him as corrupted with yellow eyes. One of my favourite moments actually in Fallen Order, seeing Cal corrupted by the Dark Side. I bet that in the third game we will return to the Jedi temple on Bogano for some reason during his corruption moment and we will touch that wall as part of the story which will allow him to see his reflection as a Jedi from the 1st game and that will most likely be a part of his redemption. Later on, perhaps he will get the chance to fully redeem himself becoming a Grey Jedi with the help of Kata, and hopefully survive for the TV series. Since there is already talks about him being in the Ahsoka Tano's TV series. If things develop this way, Cal will actually be the second Grey Jedi in the universe during the Skywalker Era, first being Ahsoka Tano.
I also believe that this is how the final game will play out, I only hope that Greeze will stay alive since he is my favorite character and after all, who is gonna cook then.
Rey meets Old Cal on Tanalor and from there he trains her and the new Jedi order ( he communicates with her after he heard the Jedi order help her defeat the emperor in the force ).
@@omarL1055 there could be a time jump between now and when we meet Cal again. So definitely could be a cameo for Luke. But at what stage. Who knows. He interesting to see Cal potentially as an more mature Jedi.
I mean there are so many directions they can go with in the next game. I liked how much stronger Cal has become since the first game, I think it will be interesting in what kind of abilities there will be in the third game and the conflicts Cal has within himself about using the dark side. Even though in the ending, the screen color turns back to blue from red, there is still that conflict within him about using the dark force slow push especially when fighting it against enemies. That would be cool to have sith planets of some kind in the third game or even having spirit of some kind of sith lord trying to manipulate Cal into tapping more into the dark side. When I saw that star destroyer in the end, the empire will have to be going after Cal and his allies, and maybe even attacking Koboch. The containers from the first and second game should of been used for upgrading Cal's powers and his lightsaber.
On my second play through, and while I'm not too sure on what could happen next there's small seeds planted through the story that would be interesting to see grow. For now it seems Merrin has taken more of the mentor approach with Kata, and while the next game may focus on Cal and Kata growing closer in a master/apprentice and surrogate family relationship, I could also see Kata learning skills from Merrin as Cal stays a protector. There was a point in the story where Cere doubles down on her claims about Cal's nature; that he can't sit still and needs to act no matter the danger. One could say that the negative side of this impulse is what made him go for the neck of the Empire on Coruscant, and inevitably be labeled a terrorist of sorts. In many ways throughout the story, Cal reminded me more of a bruiser/fighter in his approach instead of the methodic approach some Jedi's may take against adversity. For the next game, I could see Cal continuing to be this fighter/protector with his nature as a force user. He could be protecting the Hidden Path and taking that fight head on, further searching himself and trying to control a growing anger and hatred (yes I know we can control his dark side, but that narrative could always flip if some shit hit the fan). From there? I got no idea. I think it depends on whether they wanna go into Legends territory or not, but with where we are with Cal, I don't think it'd be time to pass the story on to Kata. Maybe a spinoff, but I have a feeling there's much more in his story we haven't gotten to yet.
I love your brainstorming on this! Cal Kestis' story is very good thus far and I like your imagination creativity concerning new story arcs! Dave Filoni should hire you bro!
I'm super hyped about these games. The progression in story and gameplay from the first to the second iteration has been awesome. However, I believe in order to make the third game feel new and fresh like it did between the previous games; Cal needs new abilities, new lightsaber combat styles and for me the best way to do that is to make him become more in touch with the dark side. Whether it is him struggling with it or walking somewhere in the in-between like a Grey Jedi. I hope the next game is amazing and tells a story of Merrin and Cal, Kata in training, Cal building or running missions for the Hidden Path, I hope Cal's story is ultimately happy in the end. At the end of these games, my preferred ending would be that the whole crew is on Tanalorr at a Hidden Path base full of survivors, with an ending scene of Merrin being visibly pregnant hugging Cal and (a young adult) Kata.
After the Jedi games I’d like to see a Sith trilogy, called ‘Star Wars sith dark temple’ or something like that we don’t get enough lore on the sith and this would be a good way to Learn more about the sith for casual fans who want to learn more
I really hope Cal doesn't die a love his character and I want him and Merrin to have a happy ending and not a tragic one like every single couple in Star Wars.
That's why I'm hoping they don't make him have his own show where Disney drain the life out of the show like marvel and keeps him only in games or reference in the shows like how Obi Wan we saw the "fortress inquisitorius" from the video game
I agree with narz, I’d rather see him have an epic, respectful death like Cere, Cordova, or even Kanan Jarrus, where after having played his role he’s tied off in a satisfying and respectful death. I would much prefer this to Disney sucking the life out of him for years to come.
I'm afraid he has to die, since we never see him again in the originals or any of the subsequent media. But perhaps there's a chance he goes out like a hero, and redeems himself from his walk down the Dark Path.
Yea I agree. Literally every good character gets killed by their padawan, sacrifices themselves or dies in battle. Let cal be atleast the only characters that succeeds and has a happy ending. Surely since most of the other star wars characters die
I think a third game will be the final game, at least for Cal Kestis, as we may get other Jedi games. I also think a Sith inspired plot would be interesting and play onto Cal's sort of struggle with the Darkside. I don't think any character like an ancient Sith would appear as that would be too similar to Survivor, and I presume the Devs would want to try and tell a different story rather than taking similarities from the last instalment. I will say that the Empire should have a bigger focus in the third game as if they do another time jump of another 5 years, it would be a year just after Andor, so the Rebellion would have been officially created by that point or at least starting to. I don't believe we'll get Cal becoming Vader's apprentice as I don't think Vader is that interested. To be honest, I think he would have probably preferred Cere but was forced to kill her. As a title for the next game, I think it could perhaps be called Jedi: Exiles or Jedi: Exiles.
Here’s my story pitch for the next game I’d call Star Wars Jedi Exiles I think Cal with Merrins help should start a new order that’s nor Jedi, Night sister, or Sith on Tanalor. Starting a new order that practices both the light and the dark but seeks to have balance between the two instead of dominance in one over the other. Essentially this would be akin to a school for grey Jedi that practice magic but I don’t think they should use the term grey Jedi either. Kata can be one of the first padawans and sort of a surrogate daughter to Cal and Merrin learning both from both of them. This would cause a rift between Kaya and the other Padawans eventually ostracizing and bullying her due to them believing she gets special treatment and privileges. Kata and her experiences at this new school would eventually allow her and other padawans to form a new and unique connection to the force after being trained by both a Jedi and a Night sister in both of their different interpretations of the force. This within itself may cause another rift between Kata and her surrogate parents in her adolescence if they do another time skip because although Cal and Merrin treat and love her like a daughter she knows they aren’t her real parents and Kata knows that. The difference in philosophy between Kata and Cal could be a really good plot point to form a wedge in their relationship due to disagreements of the force and its uses. Kata could even potentially go the full metal alchemist route with her tryna bring back her mom and dad from the dead cause of misplaced guilt of her blaming herself, depression, and feelings of ostracization within the new order while being manipulated through the force by Palpatine himself. This whole situation would cause Kata to try and push Cal and Merrin away even though they care for her chasing her trail through the game. This means Cal will have to go through some personal development and character growth confronting his own inner darkness that we were getting hints of by the end of Jedi survivor in order to help Kata cope with her own inner darkness in order to bring her back and salvage their relationship. Palpatine‘s manipulation of Kata may also put her on Vadors radar out of fear of being replaced so she may not just have her surrogate family hunting her down but vador may also be hot on her tracks and it’ll be like a race to see who gets to her first. If done right I think that this would be a really cool idea for the next game. Potentially playing as both Cal & Kata and getting to not just play through but witness the complexities of their relationship. Kata being on the run looking for Sith, Night sister, and Jedi artifacts in order to find a way to resurrect her real parents may also lead to other unknown organizations and individuals hunting her down as well. At this point put me on the writing team coach I got y’all.
the only thing that worries me… they did such a great job with this game. for me, in my personal opinion, it’s better than fallen order (although seeing more zeffo things would have been cool). i worry that they’ll be unable to keep up, and the third game would just feel like dlc. they’ve done so many customization improvements. as most things with star wars as of late, i need to not get my hopes up. it would be very cool if Cal could learn better balance in the force. maybe use a little bit of force lightning?
it would also be really cool if instead of becoming “starkiller” Cal meets Galen as he begins to join/ form the rebellion. Galen straying from the sith while Cal stays from the way of the jedi. what a cool perspective that would be. maybe retcon the games in such a way that starkiller isn’t the absolute effing machine that he is in the games, while still being a powerful-enough force user to be a major threat. Galen Marek/ Starkiller is just too cool of a character to just replace.
Jedi fallen order - cal is padawan Jedi survivor - cal is Jedi knight Jedi 3 - cal is Jedi master. (Training kata ) very much looking forward to the sequel.
Making Cal becoming grey would be interesting. If he realises the dangers of the dark side after falling in it, and knows the lackings and mistakes of the jedi, becoming grey would be great for his character. Imagine Cal saying to Vader in an epic final boss fight: "I am no Sith, and I'm no Jedi".
Even though these games are technically canon, I would love to see them add in some things more associated with legends, like Sith temples and Koriban. Maybe even Cal meeting a Sith species that somehow is still around, which starts to show Cal just how dark the dark side can get, and gives him a better understanding of the push and pull between light and dark.
Fully agree. I think too many people are obsessed with the Empire and the old star wars stories. Star Wars shouldn't just be about that. There is so many things to explore, maybe even another galaxy. I think Jedi Survivor proved that you don't need cameos or references to the movies to do a great game.
The option to choose your own path - protector or oppressor - that is my greatest wish for the next installment. There are too many games that force you to be good because it's just common sense to be kind and forgiving. That's why I think that being able to choose to succumb to the dark completely, forming the story (it doesn't have to be massively in depth or complex) with your actions (for real this time - most games pretend to have this feature, but don't incorporate it well enough) would be such a groundbreaking experience for these Jedi games. Hoping the next won't be the last - especially after Outlaws' definitive failure.
@@CoffeeMatt10 I know. It just feels like we've hit the darkest point of this story and now it's time to pull back a little bit. I always prefer a story where tragedy doesn't overstay its welcome. Especially in a trilogy format.
It would give me very mixed emotions. I would for sure enjoy it from a gameplay perspective, but from a story/ character perspective, I would feel kinda bad going around as Cal choking and electrocuting people.
My thoughts on the next jedi game is Kyle Justice should have at least 3 apprentices and trained them. Either they go to the dark or lightside or some of them go to one side or the other side of the Force.
If they don’t kill off Cal in the sequel I really wish he would disappear with Merrin, and they can just live in peace. Then focusing on Kata taking over as well as her taking Cal’s personality with him always wanting to help, and defend people. And if they do decide to kill off Cal I hope he goes out like a badass facing Vader sacrificing himself for either Kata, or Merrin. It would be really poetic. Also for the cherry on top we need a scene where Cal meets Palpetine. Chefs kiss.
I think it's more likely that Cal will train Kata in the ways of the jedi, and Merrin will teach her nightsister magic. Then, in a few years, the empire will kidnap Kata and turn her into an inquisitor. Jedi 3 may be about Cal and Merrin trying to rescue their adopted daughter, all while training a new group of force users. It would draw parallels between Cal and Cere, being that Cere had to overcome her darkside and also losing her padawan to the empire.
My suspicions for the next game - we play the first few hours of the game as Cal, until he gets taken hostage by the Empire. From then on we play as Merrin. There are a couple of reasons why I think that will be the case: 1) We already had quite important part of Jedi survivor where we played from Cere's POV, which sets the precedent. 2) Cal is already very powerful at the end of Jedi Survivor, making him even powerful would be canon-breaking. From gameplay perspective, the next game will need some new skill trees and abilities for players to unlock. I don't think they will take any of his current powers away, as Cal getting to keep all of his powers from the previous game is one of the aspects that both reviewers and players loved and gave praise to the developers about. Playing with a different character solves that issue. 3) Centering the game around Merrin (Kata?) provides writers with a lot of freedom. Killing off Merrin and/or Kata would be an extremely cliche way to make Cal angry and turn to darkness. Merrin going full thermonuclear over trying to get back Cal (and maybe Kata as well?) from the Empire would be a much more interesting way of showing struggles with dark side. 4) I hate to say it, but I don't see Greezy surviving the next game.
Sith Exploration would be sick, but if I’m being honest, I want the team behind this franchise to do a purely Sith trilogy after this. Maybe in one of the Sith Empires. Maybe right before or right after KOTOR. Whatever they do, I know I’ll love it
I love the starkiller aspect i was talking about the same thing with buddy yesterday I hope they do another one 2nd one left a major cliffhanger at the end
Let's go, Cal Kestis vs Tulak Hord or maybe Karness Muur(It would great to see a warrior-type fighter like Cal go against either a master of the warrior ways like Tulak Hord or a master of force sorcery like Karness Muur).
You are absolutely bugging. Tulak Hord? Do you realize how wildly powerful he was? This is a Sith Lord who was considered one of the greatest lightsaber users in Sith history. He is said to have single handedly broken a siege with the Jedi where a thousand Jedi were said to have died. Which FYI is more Jedi than existed at the time of the prequels. I love Cal but do not put him up against Old Republic Sith unless you want him to die. Old Republic Sith are built different.
@@Crimson_Loki I know, I know. Looking back on it now it felt like more of a fantasy-wanting-to-become-real than something that would be feasable but still... I can dream, right?
If only LucasFilm Execs would sit down and take notes on how this games take of the High Republic era is better than there failed attempt. This game actually made me like the High Republic era and want to learn more about it. Hopefully down the road LucasFilm gives these story tellers a crack at live adaptations for the Star Wars franchise because you can tell how much passion is being driven into these games from a character and story telling perspective.
I think it'd be a really cool Idea, if Cal, like Luke, started a Small school of Jedi. Similar to the general purpose of Fallen Order. But, through the Hidden Path, he meets other force sensitives. But something happens, He has a vision, or some kind of problem occurs, that makes him retreat into meditation or to another planet, separating himself. This would be another really cool section, where we could play as Merrin or A Grown up Jedi Kata. Trying to continue to save people from the empire. Missing cal, all the while.
What i want to see :) is Light / Dark side choices :) since you can interact with someone in the game through mind trick and you can choose what you want to say :) why not do this? Would be rly epic to see two endings again like in Jedi Academy
I'd like to see Cal struggling with the darkside as he teaches Kata about the force, and the use of a lightsaber, possibly a blaster too, I would have liked to see the 9th sister still be in the game and the empire be a focus maybe have her as a boss that keeps showing up, while their trying to rebuild the order, I feel like the High Republic was forced in
You know they made great games when someone like me, who downloaded Jedi Fallen Order only because it had some Dark Souls elements, fell completely in love with the story and the SW universe. Time to consume everything this franchise has to offer😊
If a 3rd game does comeout i wanna see a "stance wheel" essentially a weapon wheel for stances that way you don't have to meditate to switch stances and stitch em on the fly and being able to string them up for cool combos if you do it quick enough
I thought the high republic focus in survivor would bother me, but it honestly didn't. It was done well, so it just made me more likely to interact with high republic content in the future
I still have my hopes up for a possibility of 2 ends. I hope as the game goes on you can make choices of choosing the light or the dark. In Survivor Cal tapped into the Dark side a lot in the mid to end game. What I am hoping for is that the game gives you choices in the story to walk the light or dark, and in the end depending on alignment you are (light or dark) will depend on the ending. I dislike when a game forces a choice on you like how star wars always wants the player to be a good Jedi. That is why games like SWTOR, Force Unleashed and Empire at war are some of my favorites because you can choose to be evil and play as the empire instead of your normal Jedi Knight against the empire. I know that the likelihood of the game allowing you to choose the dark side will be slim, but if I can choose what kind of character Cal will be in the 3rd game then it will definitely be one of my favorite star wars games. I would love to see Cal use some force lightning or force choke, but the way the game will go Cal will redeem himself and become a Jedi Master, or die.
Going into dark side and sith lore would be amazing for a third game. Theres so much one can explore in star wars. A lot of possibilities in cameos too. Just a matter of being wise in who to choose and why to choose them. Kenobi, Ahsoka, Kanaan, maybe finally introducing the battered up Mace Windu and this being how Cal learns Vaapad, then finally getting an official on screen death to Mace.
just finished the game, i'm a bit late, and a few things i thought would be fun/interesting for Cal's final game. a moment where Cal struggles with his dark side like Luke did in the swamp. a confrontation with 'Dark-Cal' could be a strong moment for Cal's growth. I even had a thought that Cal could also confront a strictly 'Light-Cal' and we can see how both extremes are bad in their own way. next I thought that a fun map or setting could be the Death-Star. Some kind of infiltration or perhaps he's captured but barely escapes. finally, and mostly, we see Vader often as an unbeatable monster. i want that treatment for the Emperor. Imagine if Cal confronts Vader to avenge Cere, and he barely wins but out comes the Emperor and he utterly toys with us. It could even serve as a powerful sacrifice moment for Cal. really I just want to see the Emperor depicted like Vader was in the first game, an un-killable unbeatable monster. confronting the Emperor could be an absolutely iconic moment for Cal.
I need them to have far more planets in number 3. The flaw in 2 was the fact that we just alternates between 3 locations in a massive open world. Plus the lack of space interaction in general. It felt very small, even though it was relatively open World vs the first one.
I love the idea of Cal exploring the flaws of the strict dogmatic view of the Jedi as he develops a relationship with Merrin and mentors Kata
And if he does that... he might create a new and different "Je'dai Order"... 😏😎
Basically, this is what Luke's story should have been, but at least we get Cal and best girl Merrin
Idc about Kata I care about Cal
@Poultry-lover666 the game clearly leaves off with Cal assuming the role as Kata's Master
@@Major98 i know doesn’t mean I have to care about her. So what’s the problem with me not caring about a character I barely know anything about. Like the starter mission were you’re whole crew but sense Cal knows them, by that logic should I care about them? No
Dude this would be sick for gameplay. Every Jedi game keeps getting more ambitious and its paying out
@J B LoL exactly.
@@JB-nl7zt yeah that’s a fair point, but a trend is a trend
That’s a fair point but I’m afraid yours isn’t. Using the terminology ‘every Jedi game’ and ‘always pays out’ implies that there is at least 3 games otherwise you’re only commenting on the sequel being more ambitious than the first which is what sequels are supposed to do.
@@TheLeeBonner 😩 guys… who cares?
Sorry mate but agree with you they improved on the first game and hopefully you are correct they do so again
Not what you call an opinion. Just your theory.
Star Wars Jedi: Protector
Good thing you aren’t in charge of naming games
@@Afarh283 what’s wrong with it?
I was thinking maybe Jedi: Exile or Jedi: Exiles, but I could see Protector being used.
Since he’s got kata it would make sense he’s her protector now
Yes!! This makes sense. Good name for 3.
I loved that they focused more on the high rebublic. We have so much content about the empire, its nice to have something fresh.
Yeah I’m burnt out by the Empire. It’s so repetitive.
My theory is the 3rd game will be called star wars jedi legacy. That name was already mentioned twice now in jedi survivor and I think that'll fit perfectly for finale in the trilogy
Just hope cal kills Vader and fights palatine
@Ben serkowsi that cannot happen if they want to keep it canon
Then he wakes up and he's still a scrapper.
Protector sounds better
@@BenjaminButton6573 these games take place in canon, vader dies in episode 6, cal cannot kill him
I like the idea of Cal forming a separate sect of jedi where they can have a family and be gray jedis. Throwback to the time before the sith
Obviously i think Boba plays a bigger part than a cameo in the third game
it could also continue the trend of expanding in game mechanics of the previous
perhaps the 3rd installment you can approach the story with a dark side or light side approach and there’s multiple endings
@@Major98 maybe that boba cameo was a tease he will be hunting Cal in the third installment. Would be neat.
@@umanuu Cal’s games give me familiar vibes to Jedi Knight and Jedi Outcast from old Xbox days with Kyle Katarn. They did something similar too. Would be cool to develop dark powers like lightning.
Korriban doesn't exist in canon. It got renamed to Moraband
I hope they make the third one amazing and continue to make a lot of other amazing Star Wars games!
I dont know about the story. But the second game is so bad to play on the ps5, i turned it off after 10 min. Its unacceptable how bad it runs.

5:02 an ad appeared at the perfect time here.
Mace Windu was talking to Obi-Wan about “Mr. Clean’s magic eraser.”
The Arkham games are mediocre
@@darthplagueis7055 it could be kind of the opposite I think, kata could see how strong cal is when he feeds into his dark side but it makes it so some situation kata saves cal by using the dark side(assuming she's force sensitive) and cal could come to the realization he's going down the wrong path
Cal won't hesitate to kill next game. He gave too many chances in this one
I don't think it works like that.
The holocron only allows you to see the data itself. The data is inside a kyber crystal and that was destroyed eliminating the data from within.
In deleted scenes in ROTS yoga uses lightning. So perhaps in cannon it doesn’t have to be a dark side power.
@@arisorokin Force Judgement used to be a thing.
@@arisorokinit’s not. PLO koon has lightning
Would love to see Cal start training Kata as something that transcends the Jedi balancing both the light and dark
Yeah I think Kata would become a Jedi that also learns magick from Merrin, that’ll be dope
What I’d love is that they introduced the lightsaber forms and tie it with the stances so that combat styles are more personal
One thing i would Like is instead of just 2 stances give us all of them Like ghost of tshushima does...and i having forms would be Great cause cal and his combat style does get a Tiny bit Boring after some time
YES bro this is what I’m saying
thanks for everything you do man, people like you are what keeps me pushing through everyday. much love ❤️
The Arkham series is trash
Yup
Grey jedi aren't canon. Should be though
Been watching since 2017, you’re the reason I fell in love with the prequels.
The Arkham games suck
@PMilly yeah but it’s the truth
@PMilly good you don’t want to play them because they are trash
@@NHTube1 no they’re good wtf
They need to incorporate the old republic and show Cal’s conflict within himself
old republic was way before his time. I don’t think that’ll work. Plus old republic is a very confusing story due to too many villains
Jedi: (insert name here) - Plot Idea
I would love to see an interest in Cal learning of Vaapad and wanting to learn it himself to perfectly balance his emotions. Gotta admit, tell me this game wouldn’t be 🔥!
personally i'd LOVE these ideas:
1. Cal mentors Kata
2. We try to avoid plot points done by previous ones (Jedi holocron again? Opening the wrong bacta tank again?)
3. Cal delves into dark side powers to blend it with good intentions
4. He becomes crucial to the hidden path or Rebel alliance, hoping for a cameo
I think if cal was trained by Vader it would be cool but Cal is a Jedi not a sith Vader training him would be stupid.
Yes more Zeffo lore pleassse
I kinda hope cal walks the grey jedi road more, kinda like qui gon, and teaches kata the same. Maybe he does start his own order on tanalor like dagan wanted to do, and they dont see the force as dark and light, its all about how u use it
I really enjoyed the force unleashed-like story u theorized for the next game as well
Doesnt Cere specifically tell Cal to guide her through the force
It heavily implies Kata is force sensitive, i feel that Cal is gonna be her teacher and her adoptive parent since both he and Merrin didnt really wanna kill Bode, he just forced their hand and amazingly Kata seems to understand that but could end up resenting them all for it even
I really enjoyed Cal’s story he’s one of my favorites now. And growing with him. However I already started seeing people being angry bec Cals actor is apparently not diverse enough… I hope they don’t switch to the little girl yet because of the woke ppl. There is so much more to explore with Cal especially his battle with the light and dark.
Nobody is saying that except psychotic out of touch left wing extremists who want to add real world politics into a fantasy world.

OR
There’s a Light/Hero side play though playing as Kata and then once you complete that, you can play as Cal through the same events but the other side - a dark/villain side play through
This trilogy will be better than the sequels for sure.
Already is.
was better than the whole trilogy with the first game alone
First game alone is top 3 best SW content we have ever seen
Yes, but....firstly, that's a low bar.
Secondly, all roads lead to the Sequel Trilogy, and the rot is apparent even in this game.
@@DanWeeks how so? both of these games are set before A New Hope.
one thing id love to see focused on is the role fear plays for both sides of the force. it is fear that led jedi toward the path of avoidance of emotions, it is fear the sith prey on inside force users to switch over, it was fear that ultimately led to anakins turn. fear is subtly tied to every moment in this series, i think a cool thing to do with cal's third adventure is to focus on controlling and conquering those fears, that could lead him to studying the dark side, visiting old sith relics, as way to run away from his fear of the dark side.
Keep up the epic work theory, you the best
I hope they have Cal follow more of a "grey jedi" path vs going full blown dark side. Always love the little grey jedi parts we got in some of the legends books and their balance between light and dark.
I hope Cal doesn't die. Let that man just live and be with Merrin, we need at least one fucking couple that lasts and is happy in the star wars world.
True.
Making every fucking movie/game/show a depressing saga is quite tiring tbh.
Amazing. Simply amazing. Would love to see this play out. Nice job 👍
Third game could feature Cal meeting Luke. Which would be pretty cool.
Maybe, but Cal is like 13 years older than Luke.
Spider man is better than all of those mediocre Arkham games
@@omarL1055 there could be a time jump between now and when we meet Cal again. So definitely could be a cameo for Luke. But at what stage. Who knows. He interesting to see Cal potentially as an more mature Jedi.
@@NHTube1 lmao, nice try clown
Idk I would like to see Tatooine and maybe a Obi wan cameo tho Ashoka would be just as good.
Just you wait... I'm going to be the final boss
😦
Yeah he had to get robot legs. And he also has the health of every stormtrooper you ever killed.
Love the idea of cal becoming Starkiller
@@DanWeeks But it would be so sad I mean why do they keep making us be attached to characters if they're just gonna kill them I'm sick of it.
Yea I agree. Literally every good character gets killed by their padawan, sacrifices themselves or dies in battle. Let cal be atleast the only characters that succeeds and has a happy ending. Surely since most of the other star wars characters die
Best Star Wars TH-camr! Love ya Theory!❤️
The Arkham games are outdated mediocrity
You said the same thing twice
Yeah there other new star wars games like kotor remake and star wars eclipse
@@NHTube1 Huh? Never mentioned the Arkham games.
@@ShadowHunter44117 Where?
Here’s my story pitch for the next game I’d call Star Wars Jedi Exiles
I think Cal with Merrins help should start a new order that’s nor Jedi, Night sister, or Sith on Tanalor.
Zeffo > all. Still my favorite planet.
@@devilgames2217 cool dlc would be goin back tbh.
it would also be really cool if instead of becoming “starkiller” Cal meets Galen as he begins to join/ form the rebellion.

THIS!!!!!
Jedi fallen order - cal is padawan
Jedi survivor - cal is Jedi knight
Jedi 3 - cal is Jedi master. (Training kata )
very much looking forward to the sequel.
If they kill Merrin in the third game I will riot
Me too.
They'll kill Cal instead.
They should definitely kill her off 😂😂 just to drive the story and Force Cal to be alone
I would kinda love seeing Kata turn into a Grey Jedi/Nightsister hybrid tbh
Every Batman Arkham game is mid as hell
Making Cal becoming grey would be interesting.
If he realises the dangers of the dark side after falling in it, and knows the lackings and mistakes of the jedi, becoming grey would be great for his character.
Imagine Cal saying to Vader in an epic final boss fight: "I am no Sith, and I'm no Jedi".
I feel like they missed a HUGE opportunity to add Lizzo into the game.
LOL
Hol’ up…😂😂😂😂
After what happened with this game I can’t wait I bought my ps5 just for it. Also loved they finally showed Merrin and Cals relationship.
I just really want to see Cal become a grey jedi
Even though these games are technically canon, I would love to see them add in some things more associated with legends, like Sith temples and Koriban. Maybe even Cal meeting a Sith species that somehow is still around, which starts to show Cal just how dark the dark side can get, and gives him a better understanding of the push and pull between light and dark.
I don’t want to see the empire, I want far reaches of the galaxy we haven’t seen before. Starwars has to grow.
The Arkham series is nothing compared to spider man ps4
@@NHTube1 it’s better sorry
@@bastard342 asylum and city are mediocre as hell and origins and knight are straight up garbage
Fully agree. I think too many people are obsessed with the Empire and the old star wars stories. Star Wars shouldn't just be about that. There is so many things to explore, maybe even another galaxy. I think Jedi Survivor proved that you don't need cameos or references to the movies to do a great game.
@@NHTube1 spider man ps4 is a terribly written story that character assassinated Peter Parker and mj in nearly every cutscene.
I would prefer Cal find a balance between the light and dark side rather than him fully giving in as it would only end in sadness.
Given the timeline that this story is set, it’s a high probability that it will end in sadness.
@@CoffeeMatt10 I know. It just feels like we've hit the darkest point of this story and now it's time to pull back a little bit. I always prefer a story where tragedy doesn't overstay its welcome. Especially in a trilogy format.
The Vader apprentice route would be sick
Star Wars Jedi: Fallen
I hope we get to play as cal going to the dark side
It would give me very mixed emotions. I would for sure enjoy it from a gameplay perspective, but from a story/ character perspective, I would feel kinda bad going around as Cal choking and electrocuting people.
My thoughts on the next jedi game is Kyle Justice should have at least 3 apprentices and trained them. Either they go to the dark or lightside or some of them go to one side or the other side of the Force.
Kata is definitely force sensitive. Atleast that's the impression I got from the game.
Yeah since her dad is a jedi then he's force power was definitely passed through her
Maybe her mum was also a Jedi, we don’t know for certain.
It's like poetry, it rhymes!
Chefs kiss.

I really enjoy your theory’s, well thought out. Not like other channels that blab about some off the wall shit for the views. Thanks for your content!
There are a couple of reasons why I think that will be the case:
1) We already had quite important part of Jedi survivor where we played from Cere's POV, which sets the precedent.
I absolutely loved the high republic stuff!! It was so cool!!
The skill tree slabs have a ton of circles that don’t have abilities in them. It feels to be teasing a dlc or a sequel with twice as many moves.
Another idea, I think it could be interesting if cal is the reason that saw ends up on Jedha since he is connected to both of those
I'd like to see Cal struggling with the darkside as he teaches Kata about the force, and the use of a lightsaber, possibly a blaster too, I would have liked to see the 9th sister still be in the game and the empire be a focus maybe have her as a boss that keeps showing up, while their trying to rebuild the order, I feel like the High Republic was forced in
But she’s dead Cal killed her at the beginning of Jedi Survivor
There can’t be choices like that because the games are canon
