Thanks, been getting ready to move so l haven't been posting lately but I will start up again when things settle down. The B2600i has a different transmission and the Kia engine will not fit. You might be able to swap the transmission from a B2200 but I don't know how easy that will be. I have plans of doing this swap again in the future with another pickup and I will go into better detail on what it takes for this swap
I may be trying this. My 2002 kia sportage is rusted bad on the frame. Its a 4wd. Figure my engine wil fit in a front wheel drive vehicle and possibly use my rear axle on the other.
The Kia I pulled this engine out of had really bad rust, the frame was completely gone! These engines bolt right up to a Mazda B2000/B2200 transmission, that's why they are a perfect engine for these pickups, they are made on the same block as the original Mazda engine. I don't know anything about puting it in any other vehicle

Do you have a donor Sportage needs list? The Mazda website is no longer working. There's a complete Sportage at my local pick-a-part. I was thinking of taking its engine, transmission, maybe drive shaft, the harness, seats, and center console. Specifically the engine and components. My B2200 has power steering but no AC. Could the AC on this swap work in my B2200? I'm excited about this project.
You will need the engine, wiring harness (checkout my wiring video to know how much of the harness to get), ECU, any sensor you can find, crank sensor (on the transmission), OBD2 port, if you don't use the kia air filter then get the air temp sensor and the mount that the air temp sensor goes in (also talked about in my wiring video), flywheel if the Kia is a standard (I bought a new flywheel off eBay for $100), alternator and any other accessory you might need. You do not need the transmission or driveshaft, this engine bolts right up to the B2200 manual transmission and you can use the Mazda clutch. It would probably be easier to use the Kia A/C pump, I used the original Mazda cause it still worked and I didn't want to risk unhooking the lines. I don't have power steering so I can't help with that. I also kept the original interior, changing all of that sounds like to much work lol I recommend taking a LOT of tools to the salvage yard, pry bars are very handy and we couldn't of done it without them. I also recommend a impact and a battery powered 4" angle grinder (that would have saved us so much time). The Kia we pulled the engine from was so insanely rusty most of the bolts underneath were to rusted to get a socket/wrench on. It took my brother and I from 9am to 5pm to get it out. We did not count on it being so rusty. I have some links posted on my wiring video of another Mazda forum and they have a lot of the info. Anywhere from a 1998 to 2002, I think the '98 and possibly the '99 have the obd1 port instead of the obd2 port so your diagnostics aren't as good. I used a '01 and I'm now just over 3k miles without any issues. Good luck on your swap!
