    @36:15 also, can you provide the formula (or maybe a source where to get the equation/formula) in getting the "Calculated System Expansion Volume"

    @55:44 what is the fitting at the bottom for? is it just for draining water from the tank?

    i wish there was a way to estimate volume. as in retrofit , there is no way ot know the volume of water being used

      Mark, agreed, if there are no records from the original installation, all you could do is use the equipment and piping you can see and calculate the volume of water there and then use your best judgement on the pipe you can't see.

    When we have to recharge the air ??

      Hello Kam, thank you for the question. The bladder style and diaphragm style expansion tanks must be pre-charged (compressed air side) in accordance with the instruction sheets - link here: apps.taco-hvac.com/uploads/FileLibrary/402-002.pdf

    How to size expansion tank for thermal heating fluid like mineral oil ? Can I use the expansion tank that are being used for water system. Will it ( mineral oil) affect the bladder or diaphragm or sizing method if I take data of mineral oil ?

    • @TacoHVACtv
      @TacoHVACtv  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good day Parth and thanks for watching our Taco Tuesday webinars. In speaking with the engineering department; from a thermal expansion standpoint, we would need the specific volume of the mineral oil at its lowest and highest temp.
      However, the bladder material we use is Butyl which does not fare well with mineral oils. We would not recommend it for a mineral oil application.

    I trust I am not the only one who is getting the ad for the 'blast ultra' evaporative cooler before the video. How much of a scam evaporative coolers are if at all depends on the claims of the seller. This ad gets a 1000% scam rating. Its a pretty big error for the marketing algorithm to show such an ad to people watching a video about hydronic systems who certainly know better. Those ads should be illegal anyway.
