This reminded me of an old acquaintance, who was forced to use such tools back in the days... Considering hardware, I usually and out of comfy reasons I too often choose for the someqhat sterile approach, within the Daw-box ☺ However any hardware advice would be it'is not what you have but rather what you do with it!... 🎹🎙🎧☎️🎤📯📻📠💽🥁🔕⛓🔩🔨🖇✂️💱📥🥄🍴🥢🥂 Also allow to let some happy incidents incidents being collected and processed in your voyage!.. I've always tried to use any gear/instrument and to discover the magic boxes inside and out for what they might contain, and bring to the table/stage. And sometime it won't work at all despite all the trials and errors, hopefully then one might at least have had enjoyed a pleased meditative trip/session without always a need for a necessary destination.
