Honestly seems like they ran out of time and said "fuck it, copy & paste code from ChatGPT". I know the gaming market in general has been dog shit but damn, I'm just fed up with every western MMO having dropped the ball for over a decade now. I don't want to play dated 10-20 year old MMO's, eastern/anime MMO's, forever beta's, or p2w grindfests, but that's all we ever get anymore. Don't even have hope for the RIOT one or Ashes of Creation at this point.
Big companies micro managing big titles to death, or kick starter over promisers. Nothing else exist… well, osrs but being able to boast numbers isn’t that fun
$10 monthly subscription for full access of a 'self-declared' alpha (by the developers) stage of development. Brought to Steam not as an early access title, etc but as a normal release title and is still getting 0.x version patches, not even +1.x patches. That raises questions.
I actually put a few hours into this game. My first impression was this is the worst MMO I've ever played... then I remembered Wish Online. I think it was called that. It went to open beta and first hour of the open beta they cancelled the game, lol. Anyway, I kept playing Ethyrial even after I thought it was a horrible game... and I kept playing it. For some reason the game wound up being kind of enjoyable. That being said the game is not great... The game is not polished and when Medieval Marty says "...just plain lazy" when talking about the art assets. In the character creation screen you can see the art is AI generated. This is a quote from someone on the steam forums: " but then I started looking at the character art, and... immediately saw all the telltale signs of AI-generated images. Some of the humans are in totally different styles, some have nonsensical armor, one of the archers had a bundle of sticks tied to their back while another had an arrow MERGED with the bow, one of the figures had no fingers on one hand while another had seven fingers on one hand..." I wouldn't be surprised if chatGPT was a major tool used in creating this game, haha.
Oh, and BTW, if you are watching this video then you were obviously interested in maybe trying this game. Do not even bother because they are re-launching the game on the 12th, and all progress will be wiped because of cheaters (dupes). This is a Unity game and you can tell right from the rip that they are amateur programmers from the log in screen. Just download the game and see for yourself, lol.

Lol Now, if we compare this to Legends of Aria and whatever side projects Citadel Studios had in mind, I prefer a game that wiped the servers 1 week after launch than 2 years after launch. LoA really died because of the massive amount of dupes. For other reasons too, but when your players have spent hundreds of hours on their characters, and you let the economy crumble because of dupes…. Game over. I will try Ethyrial because I like the genre. I don’t mind a wipe or two as long as it’s justified and they don’t let the situation rot like Citadel Studios did. Then we will see ! It all depends on how they fix the mess in the next couple months. Hopefully not DOA game🤞🏻
Please check this but this game looks A LOT like a game from 2020 i think called "the Yellow King" it looks almost the same characters and item/armor pieces
Honestly speaking, I have never seen a single game that uses Synty assets that are good or taken far beyond the pre-alpha type phase. It is almost like the "developers" that see those assets just slap a few things together like a school project and try to scam money from folks for it. These games usually get minimal development, assets are bought on massive sales like Humble Bundle where they get $1k of assets for $50. Even the maps or environments are usually already done for them. Choose your perspective, have AI write a couple scripts and away we go. Every time I see a game with those assets, I just immediately assume lazy junk.
Man this game must be bad, even with the worst mmo you usually talk about the good sides and why you should maybe play it. Hearing this review you know this is a bad game LOL
The game is a total mess. They will relaunch it at the 12th, but I cannot see how they can fix all the issues in 10 days. Feel bad for the people who sunk in 300$ into this.
@@khronick3596 idk i personally cannot stand WASD movement on tiles. i don't enjoy click to move MMOs but man I gotta say after trying ethyrial for a bit I definitely hate WASD on grid waaay more

dang I played this last year during their open alpha for kickstarter. It looked way better a year ago in april than it does at launch.

If RuneScape had wasd movement and Ethyrial combat it would be superior.
