It’s 2022 and I am re discovering Elvis Presley. Where have I been , you may ask… ? Before the movie Elvis came out, I was already obsessing about Elvis and his music. What a treasure of brilliant songs and impeccable interpretation! After watching the movie, I started looking up and reading all the books that had been written about him. At my library, on Amazon …the movie left me with an unsatisfied hunger …I wanted more… I searched all the TH-cam video concerts and watched them in delight…wish that there had been more but it was 50 years ago …HBO is streaming the movie and I will watch it again. Elvis, what a shame you left us so young on your unfinished life journey… you will never be forgotten! You live in all your fans’ hearts…forever. And thank you ! Merci

And don`t forget the many, many Elvis fans who live far away from Graceland and can`t attend the candlelight gatherings. Our candles are lit and we gather all over the world. There are many millions of us thinking of him at the same time. So much love and positive energy on this earth can`t pass unnoticed. I am sure it even sends an echo into the Universe.

"He didn't understand what made him great"....... WOW.... a truer comment I have never heard. Elvis was a humble person that is why he couldn't understand his greatness. Furthermore, I totally agree with something else that was said in this video by a fan. She states that Elvis was not an American icon, he belonged to the world. She was right when she said you didn't even have to speak English, you didn't have to understand what he was singing. So why did we all connect with this man and his music? Here is my answer......
There is a universal language we all understand perfectly, it's called LOVE. This Master Human Being called Elvis Aaron Presley was full of it. We sensed it, we felt it, we could see his authenticity, and we could see his spirit, and he was beautiful inside and out. A gift from above, even if it was for only a short period of time. His creator wanted him to come home, he was very tired. Rest in Peace Elvis, many of us hope to meet you someday dear brother.
I could write a thesis on this incredible human being and his impact on this world, musically, socially, and culturally but I'll just conclude by saying thank you very much for this video. It was appreciated.

It's been 45 years since he was gone, and yet people especially his fans young & old talk about him, watch his movies, sing his songs, buys his records & memorabilias. Elvis deserves the love and loyally that was the same as he felt for us. Some have come close to imitating his, voice, but nobody has or ever be able to initiate his charisma. He was, is, and will always be the one and only Elvis that we loved about him. He was indeed one of a kind that will live on in our hearts forever as it should be. He didn't have to worry about about how long he would be remembered throughout all time. R.I.P. our dear Elvis.I only wish they would stop about his short comings and let us remember him for all the wonderful memories he left for us to cherish. 🙏😇😍😘 We should also Denver that after all that he was only a human like the rest of us. I believe in the way I was brought up that if you can't say anything nice about a person then don't say anything at all!

This documentary only touches a small part of Elvis’s life. There was so much more to him than this could possibly show. He was a great performer, a great innovator of music, and he was a great humanitarian! Elvis gave so much money to charities. He did a lot of work with the children who had polio. He was one of the original donators to the Pearl Harbor Memorial, he provided his time and money to this great project. When funding for the memorial stalled Elvis stepped
In again and helped to raise the remainder of the money to complete this memorial that honors the men who died on that ship that day. He also served his country willingly and proudly! How many other celebrities would leave their booming career to go into the Army and live a normal life if a soldier? No one now days or in the past has been willing to do what he had done!!

Wonderful documentary. After reading 7 biographies on Elvis, this is pretty accurate. That being said, it is difficult to sum up this man in any one documentary or biography since there are no words that adequately describe the phenomenon of Elvis Aaron Presley. He had a voice that caresses like velvet with a Rande and style that was incomparable. He was the consumate performer, the likes of which we shall never see again. His beautiful face while totally masculine was breathtaking and hard to take your eyes off of. His charisma, humanity and generosity all make Elvis the unforgettable legend that he is. I lived during the 50's, 60's and 70's and saw his star rise to heights that no other performer has reached and also saw the sun set on him which was a sad, sad day. He is still remembered and mourned for the beautiful and enormous talent that he was that left us too soon RIP my dear Elvis.

This documentary is the best yet of Elvis, it should be televised. I especially loved Mary Ann's contribution as she describes him as an innately giving kind person.
It is incredible to see the global fans, his appeal is truly special.
I can't help feeling despite being surrounded by people he was lonely one of my favourite songs is...
'I'm Leaving' long version on you tube.
I am a new Elvis fan, after seeing the film four times. I loved the honesty of his step-brother as he is candid on his views about Elvis death, yes it was a drug overdose.

Elvis .... the greatest and brightest star that has ever lived. Born to be King.
A title, which in the sweetness and humility of his spirit, he never accepted. "There is only one King, and his name is Jesus Christ", Elvis said. He could have accepted that title, but he would not, because he believed in the true King, " The King of Kings " our Lord and saviour.... JESUS. Elvis was loved this world over for many reasons, this statement he made was one of them. It takes a truly humble and loving soul to say something like that, and one that clearly understood that he was gifted, and that that came from God. It's true Elvis didn't fathom his greatness, but he did know that whatever it was he had, was a gift from above. Rest In Peace dear man, hope to meet you someday on that beautiful shore.

You know sometimes you hear these so called people who had opinions on ELVIS , how much weight he gained and being hooked on prescription medications but I WILL NEVER EVER BELIEVE THE THINGS THEY SAID ABOUT HIM AND THE BAD THING IS THAT HE HAD TAKEN CARE OF THEM IN EVERYWAY UP UNTILL HIS DEATH ! HE WAS AND ALWAYS WILL BE A VERY GOOD MAN WITH A HEART OF GOLD AND LOVE FOR HIS FAMILY ( Pricilla, Lisa and his Dad and his precious mama that was his Guardian angel! No one can ever change how I felt about the person that he was , I person that had a heart of gold for everyone , always buying and helping anyone he knew of that needed any kind of help ! He was so humble from the beginning and the end and I KNOW HE THANKED OUR HEAVENLY FATHER FOR ALL THE THINGS HE HAD DONE IN HIS LIFE, Believe THAT WITH ALL MY HEART! ♥️🙏 All those people will have to live with all the stuff they said that he done for the rest of their lives and answer to our Heavenly Father for all the things that they had tryed to make money off of either by writing books , giving interviews and anything else that they could possibly do to make money off Of , SHAME ON ALL OF YOU , YOU WILL ANSWER FOR ALL THE HARM YOU TRYED TO DO TO ELVIS AND HIS FAMILY AND CLOSE FRIENDS, ALL YALL CARED ABOUT WAS ALL THE MONEY HE GAVE TO EACH OF YOU NOT TO MENTION ALL THE STUFF THAT HE HAD GIVEN TO EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU FROM THE DAY YOU ALL HAD COME TO WORK FOR HIM TILL THE DAY THAT HE PASSED , ALL OF YOU JUST STOOD AROUND WITH YOUR HANDS OUT ACTING LIKE HE OWED YOU! Some day y’all will all answer for all the crap that each of you had to say about him cause I believe none of it to be true!!!! He will never ever be forgotten by all that loved him and from all the younger ones that have grown to love his music and love him also, thank you all for loving the best entertainer in our lives lives ! RIP IN PEACE OUR SWEET FRIEND , TILL WE ALL MEET AGAIN ! If I have said anything wrong meant no harm in it ,I JUST SPOKE FROM MY HEART ABOUT A MAN THAT I WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER, I KIND AND GENEROUS MAN THAT HAD A HEART OF GOLD AND TOUCHED MANY MANY LIVES! I agree with you totally 💯 after all these years from his death to now all those that apparently has been close to him have made money off of his name some bad some good but some put a bad light on him. I think those 3 so called friends of him was the worse (I guess because they were cut off from the limelight with him). Yet none could help him a man that gave his all and yet received nothing. I just saw a doci about his younger life before fame (Gary Tillery wrote a book about him) about a story where he was 5years old his parents bought him a tricycle and he gave it away his dad went to get it and he gave it away again. From a young age he was giving and although in his later years became rich he was still that giving soul and material things wasn't his priority. If you surround yourself with wrong people you will always search for what is missing, he was a searcher and I'm glad he always included the gospel music in his concerts. Such a brilliantly beautiful soul whose life was cut short, God had greater things for him but now his doing it all up in heaven...

I think Elvis` example should teach us something. Most of us are often unaware of the fact that we mean much more to other people than we think. Elvis thought he would be forgotten and we think very similarly. And yet, so many years have gone by, and every new generation is still touched by him, in one way or the other. I believe that this is true for most of us. Every one of us leaves finger- and footprints all over and people don`t forget each other so easily. I find it wonderful and magical when I see young people discovering the wonder of Elvis. It gives me hope in this seemingly cold world :)

I was also aware of the mispronunciation. I came to the comments to see if anybody else noticed. It's not the first time the name Tupelo was a thing. When Richard Pryor did his old man character on stage he says "I was born in Tupelo Mississippi." Someone in the audience yells "where is that at? Pryor says "Tupelo? That's near *_One below"_* Get it? I knew that you could! Elvis Forever!

@TakersMissy The narrator is from New Zealand (I'm fairly sure - I'm Australian). Their pronunciation is often different. The To-PELLO thing is similar to the way the say Subaru. This is very poor indeed . Not at all up to the usual standard of Perspective documentaries. You can tell because the documentary makers aren't even licenced to play Elvis's music! How can you have an Elvis docmentary with generic, anodine so-called 'rock 'n' roll' as the soundtrack instead of the Elvis classics? It's an unquestioning hagiography as well. When That's Alright Mama became a local hit, Elvis was dragged out of a cinema and into a radio studio for an interview. The first question the interviewer asked him was what High School he went to. This was a coded way to tell people in the area what colour he was, That he was white. Safe to listen to. That has often been stated, of course, but the reason behind it is isn't usually mentioned: black musicians were making that kind of music already! It was called rhythm 'n' blues and had been going since the late Forties. Elvis innovated nothing... rockabilly and rock 'n' roll were simply R 'n' B made by white musicians. In fact Elvis was a huge Dean Martin fan and couldn't wait to get back to crooning in Vegas (see Peter Guralnick's biography 'Mystery Train' amongst others). I'm not saying he wasn't brilliant, talented and an all-time great.. he is of course. Because of a stil largely segregated radio network, he was also the first contact many people had with rock 'n' roll so he changed lives. He made three years worth of timeless, wonderful music. I don't question that. He just didn't invent rock 'n' roll, that's all. It's absurd to think he did.
