The RDX is on a completely diffrent platform than the CRV so they are nothing alike. Driving, handling, materials, interior, exterior, body structure or platform is diffrent. No comparison. Also the crv starts at $29k and the RDX starts at 44k you ask which would you choose well if your in the budget of a CRV then you couldnt pick a RDX. Of course if they were the same price who wouldnt pick the RDX.
RDX Superhandling AWD is far superior to CRV's AWD.
I'd take the RDX body with the simple, logical interior of the CR-V. I love the simplicity and clean look, the knobs instead of the many buttons, the regular old school gear selector, and practical touch screen.

I have the rdx SHAWD and wish i could get the hybrid of the crv in the rdx body...only thing i would change otherwise is to get the touchscreen
I have a 2019 RDX the one feature which I hate and I wish that they get rid of is the pushbutton transmission bring it back to a traditional gear shifter

The HP & torque is a sporty DREAM! I dislike the gas mileage. But the tech package in the RDX is SWEET!!

Although we are now into 2025 Models now, the comparisons continue. I'm interested in a 25 RDXA-Spec Advance to possibly replace my 22 MDX Advance - lease expired in August 2024 and I have extended it until 2/2025. I truly enjoy the MDX, I don't really need a 3 Row SUV - a retiree at 73 YO. What kind of MPGs do you see in your RDX ?? The MDX's is Not good, generally 20% below on City averages (EPA is 19 MPG, I get aropund 14 MPGs n Suburban driving), and about 10% less in Highway MPGs.
People who have no experience with a Honda vs Acura, or a Toyota vs Lexus think they’re all the same. (Even if they’re built on completely different platforms and don’t share a single component) However, the premium brands are completely different animals. The difference in ride, handling, NVH, materials, etc. is obvious and well worth the cost of stepping up.

We have a 2017 CRV. Great car and I don’t have an issue with the CVT. Very nice car.
I'd take the CRV. The infotainment in this generation of Honda is much better than the Acura version (at least in the 9 inch version, perhaps not the 7 inch one) and double the city MPG is tough to beat. Especially with greater cargo and passenger space. That might flip when the next-gen RDX comes out.
Hopefully Next Gen RDX is soon I'm waiting. It's a great vehicle but outdated. No digital display? The instrument cluster looks cheap compared to all other vehicles these days
Acura is focused on driving dynamics and performance. If people make a decision based on infotainment screen size, - Acura is not for them.

@@dadoo985 it has nice and bright 7” digital display between speedometer and odometer, with all the information you possibly need. You gonna use it once - on the first day of purchase to play around, after that you find yourself driving a car, not playing with infotainment. Acura has all physical controls logically aligned, so you don’t need to use screen at all. I have new Acura every year, I put about 50k per year on my cars, and infotainment system takes about 0.05% of total time spent in the car. But the engine, transmission, suspension, dynamics, safety - this is we use 100% of the times. Maybe better focus on what needed rather than what useless? That’s where my opinion comes from.
For Honda's top trim, you'd think they would also add the reclining seats in the RDX like they did in the CR-V. For what you're paying for, the Acura should have everything the CR-V has -- and more!
They are both great vehicles. I think it's funny you said the CRV looks the most sporty. I don't know what you are calling sporty but I think of the CRV being more utilitarian of the two with the RDX being more sporty by a mile!!!!!

Yea rdx is the sports/performance version of the crv basically, not sure how you'd look at the crv as the sporty one lol

Ahh why do they have the CVT in the CRV, if it wernt for that I would go with the CRV. That CVT transmission is just a deal breaker for me....
I love the CRV Sport Hybrid. I wish it had the 360 camera view, cd player and spare tire though. I purchased little convex mirrors that give me a visual for better parking within the lines. I took out the back seat headrests for better visibility out the back window. No one sits there anyway. Have been experimenting with portable cd players. One has Bluetooth but haven't succeeded in getting the music to exit the car's speakers as yet. However , the cd player had speakers so it works either way. As to the lack of spare tire . I wonder if a can of tire fixer from a store would work as well and would be less expensive. 🤔 So you can see I tried to work around the few things I didn't like. But most of all I love this well-built gorgeous quiet vehicle ! My 18 year old CRV was totalled by someone recklessly not yielding in a roundabout and it broke my heart. I was told I would love my new friend , the 2024 Honda Sport Hybrid and I do, very much. It feels safe and is the fab blue shown in the video. I still have a lot to learn about this vehicle. All Honda CRV Sport hybrids come with a built in Flat tire air compressor with the fix-a-flat built in. It's located in a hidden compartment in the back of your vehicle (drivers side, back wheel well). You just plug it into the 12volt jack, (ones also in the back) inflate the tire ... and drive away. As for a CD player .. I'd advise replacing the head unit. You can get a nice new CD player / stereo unit for a few hundred dollars that wires right into where the existing unit is. Lastly, the 360 camera view .. the only option (outside of an aftermarket job) would be to add parking sensors / cross traffic monitor to the vehicle. It shows an animated top down view of the car, with arches that light up and beep as you get closer to objects. It's not exactly the same, but pretty close. It's about $2200 to add. I'd probably have suggested to buy a Sport Touring hybrid, as it's standard on that trim level, and adds more features too.
They are both good SUV! My choice was the CRV, mostly because of the 10 speed Transmision.

CVT is a deal breaker for me. Acura needs a hybrid option!
Is one quieter/smoother as far as road noise and ride?
RDX has a more luxurious ride as well as a more powerful feel from the bigger engine.
One thing you didn't mention is that the AWD systems between the two are vastly different. The RDX has full torque-vectoring SH-AWD, where the CRV has Real-Time AWD. Both are capable AWD systems, but the SH-AWD (basically the same system as the iVTM on the Passport, Pilot, and Ridgeline) is definitely a superior system.
RDX for the Win. However, the color on the CRV is nice.
I heard somewhere that the RDX is built on its own platform. That may be true, especially since it is known that the Civic, Accord and CRV all share theirs amongst each other. Both of these vehicles appeal to different demographics, though are great in their own right.
Yep, Acura claims the RDX is it’s own bespoke platform but I wouldn’t be surprised if there were some similarities.m

The resigned CRV is very attractive, with great features for the price. I'd be willing to overlook the engine output at the price point but the CVT is not something I would ever consider again.
CVT is the big issue.
It seems to me a trend over the last decade is to put the driver into a lower position in the car. When I get in a vehicle like the Lexus RX 350 the hood is high and my seating position is so low (even with the seat up as high as it can go ) I can hardly see the road. I want a seat up high enough and the hood down enough that I feel like I am looking down at the road. This just isn't the situation any more with most cars. With most cars I feel like I'm sitting down in a hole. The whole look and feel is that the seat is too low and the hood is to high. Sometimes I'll get the seat up high enough, but then my head is bent over from hitting the roof. The Audi sedans are horrible this way. Raise up the seat and my head hits the roof, lower it down and I'm straining my neck up just to see where the road is.
I love my Acura RDX with technology package , the Honda CRV I do not like besides the 2020 CRV are very nice but I wouldn’t purchase it .

I looked at the RDX. The interior is horrendous. Driving a damn laptop. These manufacturers should build what drivers want. Theylll find out. Went with the Mazda CX5 Signature. A real car.
These automakers need to understand we DONT want an iPad looking interior! Its sooo stupid. The exterior is sooo beautiful but the interior ruins it

I did too. But I found the new interior and Trackpad absurd. I would have bought a 2021 when they had a Gear Selector and a few knobs.
The RDX makes 280lb/ft of Torque. That's actually more torque than a 3.5 V6 MDX!
Should have compared HYBRID model and not basic CRV. Not really a fair comparison. The interior of the RDX is very American 🇺🇸 no wonder why Honda don’t sell the model in Europe 😊

I traded a 2014 CRV for a 2018 RDX because the interior control are similar. .
2014 CRV - Hated uncomfortable seats, lack of power.
2018 RDX - Love comfortable seats and power.
I hated Turbo, CVT, Track pad.
I wish my RDX had SH-AWD, recline rear seats, more towing power (2500+),.
Panorama seats is over rated, I never opened my sunroof or cover.
