    What a nuts layout setup! Earned a sub off me.
    Great haulage test also.

    Obviously they look good but I think it’s the quality of the sound file and speaker that makes the difference.
    Fantastic product with no bad reviews, so far.

    The thing is, the HAAs are all empty, if you fill them or have half and half then it may be a more realistic result. Just a hunch.
    Gotta say though, they are some real mighty locos. Great video👍

    Great video and a solid test of the Cavalex 56's. I have a curious question... I notice you seem to be running the DR5000 (8:44) but you seem to be using some sort of handheld throttle. Have you be able to hook up a third-party throttle to the DR5000 and if so, is it wired or wireless? Many thanks, Julian

      Julian, thank you. Yes I am using the DR5000 (now Yamorc) system. The handsets are the Uhlenbrock daisy handheld throttle (also available as a PIKO branded version). At the moment I am using the wired ones as I have multiple handset sockets all around the layout. The handsets basically all come out of the loconet T socket on the DR5000 and then daisy chain. I believe you can use a multitude of handsets with the DR5000. James Hudson at DCC train automation is the go to for any DCC related questions and has been an amazing help with my system.

    Very impressive pulling power. You referenced radius 5 curves but I see your using the dcc automation helix they only go to 3 and 4 curves. Are yours a custom size

    • @rhysb80

      DCC train automation do offer this. The 3&4 is standard. It may not be on their website but you can order it (4th and 5th radius) with them. Contact them directly and they will be able to help you.

      @@rhysb80 thanks for the reply, I wish I had known that as my 3/4 ones arrived today. So a bit late for me now, but the diameter must be very large at radius 5, i thought 3/4 was bad enough

    Brilliant layout, sounds and performance, and the closest I’ve seen to the real thing. Some of the 56s have worked like that, day in and day out, for nearly forty years and it’s great that you’ve kept them alive on your railway. I’ve subscribed and look forward to more. Although not strictly necessary, I expect we may occasionally see and hear some double-heading on the heaviest trains…..

      Thanks for the kind comments. The layout is the Dijikeijs DR5000 DCC system (now Yamorc). in a future video I will cover this but hope that helps for now.

    Great looking layout, Can I ask if this is with the supplied tension lock couplings ?

    • @rhysb80

      Thanks. The two stone trains and the steel train are tested with the standard out of the box tension locks. The HAA's were tested with both the standard tension locks and also tested with the loco and the first HAA wagon only having a kadee. Both performed the same.

    • @davidm11

      @rhysb80 thanks for that, I had trouble with mine derailing the leading wagon, but obviously you've not had that problem, I'll try a kadee and see if it works. Thanks for replying.

    • @rhysb80

      @@davidm11 how many/type of wagons are you running? The Kadee is more reliable but that’s the case for everything really as their performance is better than tension locks in general

    • @davidm11

      @rhysb80 gave it a run with 21 Hornby HAAs, 17 Bachmann HEAs then 11 Bachmann JGAs not had any luck with any of them, starting to wonder if something is wrong, swapped the coupling to the other end of the loco but just the same. Will order a pack of kadees and see what happens.
