    Don't get too close to the Barracuda. They sneak up on you. I had 3 of them watching me at Buck Island. 😯

    Which snorkeling site was your favorite? Thanks for the video. I enjoy watching your video and check what we have missed as we were there last week. We checked different beaches each day and compared of what we saw. Each of them was really different. The funniest thing was that one of the visitor maps labels Watermelon Bay but it should be Waterlemon Bay! Of all, I still find there are more variety/colors of fishes in Hawaii than in USVI. But the beaches are gorgeous in USVI (calmer and easier to enter) and one can swim in close distance with sea turtles and string rays!

      My favorite snorkels:
      1. White Cliffs (long hike to Genti Bay along the Reef Bay Trail, then snorkel left following the shore)
      2. Mary Creek
      3. Henley Cay (need a boat)
      4. Anywhere along the mangroves in Hurricane Harbor, e.g. along Water Creek or Princess B ay
      5. Right side of Trunk Beach, around the tip
      6. Johnson's Reef (need a boat)
      7. Saltpond Bay, around the little rock island in the middle
      8. Europa Bay.
      Glad you had a good time! That mislabeling of Waterlemon Cay is funny, I'm not surprised at all haha.

      Thanks! We were very lucky to be there and snorkel in the midst of it.

    I have a question- when you’re all the way under water, Is your snorkel just out and you’re holding your breath?

    • @stephen243
      @stephen243  ปีที่แล้ว

      Correct, just hold your breath. Remove the mouthpiece from your mouth too, if you're going deeper or farther, that's the safest way and is how it's taught during freediving classes (if you do pass out you won't immediately get water into your lungs through your snorkel). Don't ever hyperventilate before going down, just take one breath and go.

    Could you be specific about where those snorkel and beach spots are?

      Princess Bay for the mangroves. The rocks in the middle of Saltpond Bay. The little reefs right in front of Hawksnest Bay. Henley Cay. In front of the Annaberg Ruins, and a few more places.

    AND AT TIMESTAMP 1123 IS THAT A SQUID?

    • @stephen243
      @stephen243  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Very close! It's a cuttlefish, which is slightly different. But very perceptive, yes, it is very very similar :) They are super cool because they change colors and are very intelligent.

      It is a Caribbean Reef Squid. There are no Cuttlefish in the Caribbean,

    is this WATERLEMON???

    • @stephen243
      @stephen243  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, it's a compilation of various other locations. I found Waterlemon key to be disappointing.
