Apart from the menu locations, a lot of this stuff still seems relevant in O365. It's probably a good example of how little Word has actually changed over the years.
I was using office on Windows 3.1 on an old laptop a few years back, and was floored by how many features I had thought were modern additions were still there, even back then.
@@Jon4270 I used to use MS Office since times of Windows 3.1. Stopped upgrading it after Office 97, as the 2000 had nothing but odd bugs added, and Office XP and up got more and more HOR-RIB-LE UI, and disastrously bloated, without any single useful feature added. 365 I sometimes have to use in work is a pure PITA to use or even watch. I still enjoy using Word 6.0, Excel 5.0, and Office 97 and everything related from around those times, but due to non-compatible stupid new file formats introduced, have needed to get into alternatives, many of which have also gotten more bloated and adopted some MS stupidity in UI design, as well as having some bugs and file format breaking issues. Sad there really isn't single both good and compatible Office suite anymore, and sadly too many people have adopted the use of those M$ default change-for-sake-of-change new filetypes, introducing the exact compatibility issues the M$ intends and wants to. Well, OpenOffice and Softmaker's older versions have been the most satisfying for using the modern file types.
Still single? It won't be long before you are Dual Core and then the fun really starts with Quad Core group action. My God! The depravity of it all! 😂😂😂
I recall these tapes were actually useful, and had received many good reviews in the magazines etc back in the day. This guy made some good money with this business. He then switched to DVD, then later went out of business.
The video is tagged with "Copyright 1994" but at 2:06, they advertise a three tape series titled "Learn Windows 95". This tape is probably a re-issue, identical except for updates in the promotional portions of the video.
I still use office 2003 (I didn't like the ribbon bar interface introduced in 2007) This video is amazing. So many familiar things still in current word
I still use Office 4.3 on an offline IBM PS/2 for anything important for several reasons: 1. Excel 5 and Word 6 generally do everything I want about 95% of the time. Office 97 with the 2007 compatibility pack handles the other 5%. 2. I avoid the "mandatory" upgrade cycle that many fall victim to, just to be continuously disappointed. 3. I don’t have to pay Microsoft an annual ransom fee to access my stuff, as they are trying so hard to do in recent versions. 4. Modern versions will still open my stuff, so compatibility is not an issue. 5. I’m much more productive with the old Office UI on a 486 than I am with the modern versions on modern machines. They just don’t make them like they used to!
Thanks for uploading! I was watching Cartoon Network commercials from the early 2000s and I always seen commercials for this. Couldn't find any examples online of Video Professor but just found this~
I have just discovered that in mid-May of 2019, my local Rite Aid in the Seattle-Tacoma suburbs is still selling pre-recorded videos on VHS cassette. I think VCRs are ripe for a comeback.
I have one of these for DOS I think, I just know its not been uploaded on TH-cam anyway, been meaning to convert it over and post it.. Thanks for this good friday night watch haha.
I used to get VHS tapes like this through the mail from the US back in the day, the rubbish ones ended up being overwritten with crap rock from TV music shows of the 90s or a movie from terrestrial TV.
I have a Lotus Improv instructional VHS that was overwritten with footage of how your running form should look (tape came from the track coach) and "Prepare to Win" with Indiana basketball coach Bob Knight.
It's interesting to me how even the latest version of Word is near identical. Most of the lessons in this video still apply. That's either a good or bad thing about Word, depending on how you look at it.
There's no such geeky a thing in this crazy world some really nutty person would not do. And by that I mean, maybe there'll be someone who will actually teach himself to use friggin' Word 6 from 1993 watching this. Serif MoviePlus and AVIsynth with QTGMC de-interlacing. It's complicated, but produces excellent results. I showed some of it in this video: th-cam.com/video/98CI6lzvk5M/w-d-xo.html

Like the first half of the video is self promotion and hype for how good the video is. If I didn't know what I was watching I'd think Trump has produced it 😂

Bless you for proper deinterlacing.
60 FPS too! Really perfect VHS look.

Clutter up the floppies instead

I feel like most modern word processor use cases, apart from stuff like saving to the cloud, would be handled pretty well by Word 6.0!

Why does the warning screen have a 1996 copyright if the VHS was made in 1994?
It says 1995, not 1996.
