I just finished a short percussion concert composition score called "All Fingers In, Percussion for Circular Saw and Construction Tools" which used: Circular saw with hits on the body and the blade, Electric drill for whirring noise, Tape Measure, Vice Grips to hit the spring-loaded handle, plastic peanut butter jar filled with misc hardware as shaker, and bamboo chopsticks as drum sticks. My percussion motif developed from basic Chacarera rhythm patterns. So this video was very timely and entertaining, good job. I think you should try playing a junkyard automobile, maybe use Arejay Hale's "big sticks".
I actually built my first kit out of pots and pans and a tupperware box filled with gravel for the snare. My parents heard me on it in the shed and decided to get me my first kit. 300 years later and I still cant play.
rock on brother! in this world there's three types of drummers: the ones who can play drums really well, the ones that aren't developmentally challenged dumb as brick lobotomites whose bloodlines are guaranteed to end with them, and ringo starr
Since the very beginning, I have always had a saw blade on my kit. Also, I use chains and necklaces on the cymbals. My favorite is the top shelf of a metal cart I use as a gong. I hold it with my hand and hit it with my knee. Sounds awesome! Good times, guys!! Thanks.
Jared looks handsome on the DIY kit.. Oohh hey drumeo..you should look for Mr Deden Noy from Indonesia, who is drumming on a DIY made kit out of recycled items..although he had been gifted a real drumset from Mike Portnoy and Bavo Drums Indonesia last time, but you can take some ideas from his creative stuff.Greetings from Malaysia.
When on tour thousands of years ago, we were in Bulgaria where we got invited to some guys family in a very poor village. He had built a drum kit out of old barrels and some cut up bicycle. We actually ended up playing on that kit for one of the shows because our drummer liked it so much (i am not a drummer).
I used something like this back in the 1986., first recordings in the garage... Empty paint bucket with nails inside for the snare, big saw blade for the ride, big empty cabbage barrel for the kick, a few buckets for toms and an, actual cowbell worn by cows for, well, bell. It Was awesome cassette recording with homemade guitar and bass FBT amp
I did create a drumming session for kids when they were young😄it was old paint buckets, bins, pots and pans, steel plates, and chopsticks. I had no clue back then what it was all called, so i just tried to match by the sound of it!
I have bought a break drum in a scrapyard (for use in orchestra), which was fun. "I need a break drum." "Ok, for what car?" "I don't know - can I hit them with this hammer and listen to how they sound?" They probably talked about the weird musician later on their lunch break.
LMAO! My favorite Drumeo video yet! The dents in the microwave had me dying laughing 🤣🤣! It all makes sense now. I finally know what happened to my toaster when we let people stay at our house when we were out of town.
Best junk snare I've ever heard is a bucket turned upside down with a sandwich made of paper plates on top. inside of the paper plates was another sandwich made of tin foil that was filled with popcorn. Had a great amount of snap and pop to it.
Awesome! Reminds me of how I started out when I was 11. I had a Mr. Coffee box for a bass drum, A Phillie's batting helmet for a snare and 4 other boxes for tom toms and two lamp shades for cymbals. Two pencils for sticks. LOl
I think the snare, hihat, bass drum and the clap stack are really sounds you can work with! I really miss a more realistic ride sound...maybe the top of a wide cooking pan!
I was looking for a small ride cymbal alternative for my suitcase-drumset, and I ended up putting to different saw blades on because they sounded so professional!
Nice! I'm not waiting on Pearl to make a delivery to Sweetwater anymore. I'm building a bucket kit today. Sorry guys, you missed out. Now I need that 30 day drumeo membership.
found an old asparagus pot that happened to be just the right size to fit a 6" head and screwed drum hardware to it. you'd be hard pressed to tell it apart from a store-bought high octabon from sound alone, and the stainless steel looks pretty professional.
Just you wait, after this, Meinl is going to come out with the "Junk Rig" and it's going to be overpriced buckets with their logo stamped on the front.
I’m inspired! I’ve got sticks, I’ve a bass drum, I have a snare drum I have a hi-hat. I’ve got to think about crash cymbals from my garage if I want to see my 37 wedding anniversary in 13 days. My wife is supportive but only to a point. Drumming to me is my rehab, to learn something new. After my ruptured brain aneurysm and stroke, I struggle with my finger coordination, so I basically have stopped playing my guitar. But! I do have and excellent rhythm from my guitar playing. I did try steel drum pan, but my memory of three different c cord locations, and all the way up and down the scales, was a little challenging for my memory skills. I had to relearn to walk, talk even eat all over again. I even had to mourn my mother’s death, a second time. When I came out of my coma, my memory skills were servilely affected. My stroke took everything from me.
I started hitting my Mom's pots and pans with a wooden spoon when I was about 3, but it was another 15 years before I got my first "real" kit. To this day I'm still not sure which drove them crazier.

Well since you quoted me at 5:42 I guess I should say that I came back. Totally worth it. NOW, do the opposite: record a $10k drum set with a smartphone and nothing else and get the best sound out of THAT.
Man, would love to see more unique drum sets built like this to give EDM an interesting live performance sound. I imagine that would be a project for a drummer gone producer though lol
What other things should we use to build a drum-set?
Go to a scrapyard (junkyard) I'm sure you can find some interesting pieces there.
The boiled bones of vanquished Bass players who think they are "real" timekeepers

Make a drumkit out of non-percussive instruments.
“It’s amazing what you can do with just buckets (and $5,000 in microphones and $10,000 pro studio gear)”
And a 1k an hr engineer
Hahahahahahaha 😂😂😂
😂😂😂 real
When you're a drummer, the world is your instrument.
When you're a drummer - the world is your oyster.... _Makes a drumkit out of Oysters_ . . .
The police proved that with their music videos back in the day

Mom: We already have drums at home.
*Drums At Home*
That’s hilarious

Yo if it works,I mean lol
Absolutely brilliant! Thanks Jared & DRUMEO.
I might actually buy a garbage can now and add it to my kit 🤣🤣 sounded gnarly

Need a "In the air tonight" fill with that, please!
You have to let Michael Schack play on that thing😂🤪 @Drumeo

Shows how important production is! And the drumming is just sooo great! 🤩♥️ Love y'all Drumeo!
That was extremely fun to watch!
Jared in Chains
Surprised by the hi-hat. That's surprisingly cool 😂
That hi-hat is the real deal :D

Ok DRUMEO, My wife may kill me but I'm going for the Fridge, Dishwasher, Stove, Washer and Dryer for a stellar 5 piece 😂

Gene Hoglan actually used boat propellers as FX cymbals on some recordings
Ok, fine, subscribed.
Yes, it wasn't the numerous lessons and all the stuff I had already watched, THIS ONE did it for me.
Lmao
Thank you for subbing!
I’m reconsidering my music interest. That kit still sounds better then me… lol
That's a real kit for Industrial music right there.
Hi drumeo love your videos ❤😎
Cant get enough 😀 God bless 🙏😘
Btw congrats on 2 million
That was so funny and crazy. I just love you made it to the studio. Top
YOU HAVE INSPIRED ME... I'm off to make a tumble dryer out of my bass drum.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Amazing! I love the idea and how it sounds!
Definitely do furniture. Please consider this, it could be amazing.

Hi Jared and Dave! Greetings from Singapore :))
Best junk snare I've ever heard is a bucket turned upside down with a sandwich made of paper plates on top. inside of the paper plates was another sandwich made of tin foil that was filled with popcorn. Had a great amount of snap and pop to it.
"This is by far the most deadly drumset, " rip choking the saw blades...
Very very funny. Great video 🤣🤣👍👍👍
Brother, that was some amazing creativity!!! 👏 👍👍LOVED IT!

I've done this before, just for a laugh when a proper drumkit wasn't available. Great fun.
every drummer that does your show , should do a 5 minute solo on that kit !! Rock On DRUMEO !!
If you don’t have a bell, I think a saw blade is seriously a fun addition to the kit, so long as you mount it in a way that it won’t damage anything
G'day, love what you guys do, thanks from Australia!
They must be bored 😂 awesome stuff guys! God bless
Fan covers for cymbals! Aahh the nostalgia! Let's goo!!
I think the snare, hihat, bass drum and the clap stack are really sounds you can work with! I really miss a more realistic ride sound...maybe the top of a wide cooking pan!
Did yall get this idea from Cameron Fleury?
I know it's mixed and all but man it sounds amazing!!
I was looking for a small ride cymbal alternative for my suitcase-drumset, and I ended up putting to different saw blades on because they sounded so professional!
My first kit . A suitcase with the botton of a birdcage and two pots all mounted on a sawhorse.

Hello! I'm from Brazil and I started doing that .
Good job guys , really cool.
I would have listened to both the original, raw sounding and the effected one more. Sounds amazing! 😍😄
Rob Scallon already did it.
That hi hat was on point!
I’ve used a music stand as a cymbal stand, I put plastic bags of bolts in the Tom’s every once in a while for a cool clank sound
Really cool drum 🥁👌
Sounds great, i love it!!
i should try this because i can't afford a drum set and in my country having a hobby is an upper class thing appearently
Sounds may not be different, but the initiative make the difference. Salute
A producer can make anything sound good.
Hilarious! Thanks so much 👏🇦🇺✌️
I started on buckets and pillows. To this day it's my favorite kit I ever had
Great I love it !
The saw-hat is pretty cool. I love It.
with just the second snare, the kick drum and that saw stack you could make a good sounding metal kit
What is the source recording of Victor's waveform tattoo? 6:57

I had seen one drummer added a boat propellar to his kit. It had a nice ping sound to it.
