    Hi, Thank you so much for this video. I have a multiple choice question in which most responses are blank for every option. Is there a way to get the % of the total number of survey respondents without manually adding a formula? I am using MS Excel 2016.

    • @joyhardy2467
      @joyhardy2467 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Adding to my previous question. This situation results in the grand total being less than the total number of survey respondents.

    Hello! I'm trying to do this in reverse. I have an unpivoted table and I want to take those unpivoted rows and turn them into own columns. I have 200 unique categories meaning 200 new columns will be created. I'm not sure if I'm doing it correctly. I select the column I want to pivot. Then I go to pivot column and select survey ID and under advanced I select Count All. It generates 200 new columns as expected with 1/0. The survey IDs are not pivoted however. If a surveyID occurs multiple times it still is shown in rows as many times as it occurs. Even if it occurs 5 times I only want one row per survey id. The pivoted columns should account for the values that were present prior to pivoting.

      Another option is to Unpivot each of them in the same table as I have done here for comma separated.
      But be careful as with this option for large sample sizes and with many columns as I have mentioned in the video

      Hi Zainab
      Hold down Ctrl key and click on the column headers
      Alternatively, select first column (preferably from the left), hold down the shift key, scroll to the right and select the last column.
      I hope this helps

      Check if the IDs in your data before unpivoting are unique to each respondent.
      Also ensure you check "Add this to the data model"

  • @dajanabushpepa4389

    why do you unpivot, an not only Data - Sapparete from comma - Select data to appear in rows - Transform Trim - And add to data model?

    there is no distinct count in my excel. is there any other name than that?

    • @MSurveyPoint
      @MSurveyPoint  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Shamera,
      Probably you didn't add your data to the Data model.
      When you closed and load from Power query, and in the dialog box that come the "add data to the data model ✅" needs to be selected (if not automatically selected) for the distinct count feature to enabled.
      Please check that.

    • @MSurveyPoint
      @MSurveyPoint  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Hi Godfred
      From 8:10 onwards
      Can you check if you selected "Close and Load to data model" from the Power Query Editor?
      Check also if the "add to model was checked" in the add to data model dialog box.

      The ✅ is enabled depending on the option you select at the top; pivot chart, connection only, etc.
      It will be automatically selected and grey out for some options.
      Can you check that.
      Also, are you able to proceed to generate a pivot table or chart and do your analysis?
      Lastly, you may consider starting over and following steps in the video closely
