I'm convinced that her devil fruit ability has some effect on her ability to have such a prodigious amount of progeny - because if you start doing the math it's a little insane: So, as of the current story line, Big Mom has 85 children. Also, we know that there is at least one set of decuplets, and two sets of twins (to the best of my recollection). That makes 73 individual pregnancies, which (if we go by the normal gestation period of 9 months) is 657 months, which means Big Mom would have to have been pregnant for 54.75 years, and she's only 68. Clearly something is up here, unless Oda really wants us to believe (and more importantly be ok with the fact) that Big Mom was no older than 14 when she started having children, and was most arguably younger.
