HOORAIN - BILL SARHADY - A video by BUNNY

‪@bunny-and-friends‬ HOORAIN is a happy and bouncy fun number written and performed by the late Bilal (Bill) Sarahady. I produced and directed the first video of this track which unfortunately is lost to posterity. I have done this video using stock footage and Bill’s clips of another of his songs directed by Farhan Jamalvi. This is one of my favorite songs.
ABOUT BILL SARHADY
Bilal Sarhady was the son of Zia Sarhady a well-known screenplay writer, film director and lyricist of pre-partition India and later, Pakistan. He was the elder brother of Khayyam Sarhady the famous TV actor and the father of the present TV celebrity Zhalay Sarhady.
Trained as an architect he tried to make a name for himself as an artist, and although creativity was in his blood, he was too temperamental and difficult to work with. He did manage to create and record a collection of songs about his imaginary Goan friend Billy Gonzalves
I heard a demo of his recordings and fell in love with the music, the simple lyrics and the way the whole album was arranged. Unfortunately, halfway through the shoot of the first video Bill started acting up and I had to cancel the shoot.
Some time later I heard he had passed away. Although he drove a lot of people crazy and was extremely difficult, I no doubt in my mind that he was a true genius which is reflected in his music.
