Another great video, actually, the metal housing of the tape measure has a raised number on one side it may say 2 1/2 " that is the length of the metal housing so you would add the last number seen on the tape measure where it goes into the metal housing and then add that number, in the example above that would be 2 1/2 ", if the last number you could see is 33, then add the 2 1/2" and end up with total measure of 35 1/2" of total length.
