Isn't ekmek a Turkish word? Then how is this a Greek dessert, It seems like kunafa with custard on top.

It's not Greek it's Turkish and ekmek means bread in Turkish. Originally this recipe had bread at the bottom.

@@georgiaparaskevaidis5167 this is not turkish version. i want to tell why: kadayıf is the original one made with original kadayıf (wire shredded wheat). but ekmek kadayıfı is not made with original kadayıf. ekmek kadayıfı made with something like sponge/bread. Turkish people do this way because its hard to find good "kadayıf" always. if you google "ekmek kadayıfı" you can see its like more sponge than kadayıf. Finally, in this video, she is using kadayıf, not "ekmek" or any sponge.
The lady in the video does not make an original kadayıf or ekmek kadayıf. she does is this: she puts kadayıfs on the bottom, wets them, and covers them with a cream-custard, etc. similar to pastry cream. Women do this in Turkey, but they put kadayıf on both the bottom and the top. It is called "kadayıflı muhallebi". The woman actually makes "kadayıflı muhallebi" but doest put kadayıfs again on the top. but turkish ppl do.
