    A car is a cost of doing business. If you don't have a car (transportation) your access to jobs becomes very restricted. While a car does not increase in value, it does increase your access to different resources.

    Know the difference and spend wisely!

  • @Snafu2346

    I'm saving now and living somewhat frugally so that I can spend later.
    Everyone thinks I'm ... cheap. I never eat out, I drive a older 21 year old cars. They run fine, and they're easier to fix. I haven't really taken a real vacation in 15 years.
    I don't really need a watch I can use my phone. My phones are free from work. Like Galaxy S21 Ultra, S20 Ultra, Note 10, V50, V40, V30, V20, Pixel 4XL, etc.
    My PS4 was free, My Nintendo Switch was free,
    I've only splurged on spending I would say ...... maybe twice.
    I bought a RTX EVGA FTW3 3080 a few months ago at MSRP
    And I bought a motorcycle 13 years ago.
    okay... I once went to Chipotle, and I added Guacamole. I shouldn't have..., but I did that once.

    • @josophie5002
      @josophie5002 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      I don't think buying a RTX 3080 at MSRP would be splurging. That means you got it on a RARE sticker price. While MOST of the 3080's are being gouged by scalpers and some retailers like NEWEGG at double, and triple the price. I would say that was smart shopping. Where you able to find one available at the right time online or did you find one locally? Not sure if the motorcycle 13 years ago counts since it was sooo long ago. Unless its literally the most expensive thing you have purchased in the past 13 years.......

    • @nanocat4141
      @nanocat4141 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Adding Guacamole do your order at Chipotle? You live a dangerous life. When I order it, I just take a picture of the Guacamole on my phone and pretend its there while eating it.

    • @Snafu2346
      @Snafu2346 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@josophie5002 I camped Microcenter for a few days till I got lucky. Camped about 50 hours. I went straight to Microcenter after work and just slept overnight everyday until I got it. Only time I went home was to shower and change. I slept at ate at the store front. Along with hundreds of others. Hundreds of other that are still standing in line.
      As for the motorcycle. It is still the most expensive purchased I've made since I got it 13 yrs since. Before that I had spent lots on cars. I've sold 3 and kept 2. Though I wish I would have kept the S2000. Its worth more now than what I bought it for. But I only put about 200-400 miles on it a year.

    Between a combination of your financial advice and Dave Ramsey I was able to find a good combination that fits my situation. Between working overtime every saturday at work and the stimulus checks I've received since the beginning of 2021 I've finally been able to become debt free. Now I'm placing as much as I can into my savings while I still have overtime at work until it stops. When I get my next raise I plan to increase my 401k contribution from 3% to the max of 6% and raise that up. I'd like to buy a home by next summer as I've just renewed my lease but if the funds aren't there I'll just renew my lease. Rent with utilities included is my current situation.

    Maybe somewhat controversial but find a partner who equally saves, manages a similar mindset for savings. A partner who splurges and their 50th pair of shoes, hundreds of outfits, and insist on eating out (because they can't cook or are too lazy to), subscribes to dozens of memberships which they hardly use, wants a new car because, they slightly older one has a check engine light on, etc.....
    Just politely excuse yourself from them, and remove them from the equation = happiness.
    Find a partner who thinks the same and enjoys investing, in themselves, each other, stonks, etc.

      Finding the right partner with the right mindset would positively reinforce daily decision making. I've been in situations where the significant other is spending on things I've felt we shouldn't have been spending on. It can be a daily nuisance.

    I know this is not a political channel but when Jaspreet says "your (financial) SUCCESS is in your hands" is exactly what the founding Fathers intended and the liberties the Constitution provides all of us regardless of race, religion or creed. We all have the freedom and liberty to be successful - whether that is financial success or otherwise. No one should rely on the government or someone else to make it for us. "We" are and should always be in control of what we make of our lives. It is up to the individual not some other entity to do it. Jaspreet is an excellent example of that (and so were my grand parent and great grand parents who were immigrants from Russia).

    My income is $18 an hour working 40 hours a week which is about $37,000/year
    I'm in $27,000 of student loan debt for a $25,000 loan I'm in an income driven repayment plan that I'm not being required to pay for right now because I applied when I didn't have a job and I shouldn't have to pay payments until December the plan says if I pay 10% of my income for 10 years I'll be forgiven for the entirety of the loan paying back approximately $27,000 of my $25,000 loan I think the payments are going to be $150 a month.
    Do I have to move back into my parents house to tackle this debt or is it okay to rely on the government for this one?
    An apartment would cost $800/month and significantly benefit my mental health
    If anyone knows where I can get help with this please let me know thank you

      Genuinely, find a financial advisor."A friend" originally invested 113k in the late 2000s. Has spent ~500k and it still has 246k left over. GET A FINANCIAL ADVISOR.

    👍. I’m just sitting here wondering if the minority mindset flip flopped with the majority mindset…….and the majority understood and did everything you talk about in your videos………what would happen to the “system” ? Banking, car industry, etc.
