  • Brought to you by Zarzaur Law, P.A. - Gov. Ron DeSantis has signed a measure that requires police to notify crime victims of their right to counsel. The bill initially called only for notifying victims of their right to counsel and urged the development of a registry of lawyers willing to represent them for free.
Top Board Certified Civil Trial Lawyer Joe Zarzaur discusses this measure and explains how this expanded bill allows crime victims “Upon Request” to attend or be heard at a criminal proceeding and what this all means for the subsequent civil trial.

Hi , I'm a victim in a battery case that occurred now 4 months ago I have called the states attorney office at least twice a week and the secretary tells me she will have him call me but I never get a call back . I'm aware of what I see in the public records I see many pretrial conference held monthly I unfortunately can't attend because I live paycheck to paycheck. I want my voice to be heard I feel like I should have the right to know exactly what's going on. What do I do ? Pasco county
