Kenny was right when he said. You gotta make that sht lame. When I was younger and you was about to fight if you picked up a stick your own mans would snatch the stick out your hands and say "nah fight that ngga straight up" Now days a lot of these scary, cant fight dudes are afraid to take the fade and are pulling out burners for a simple arguement and its celebrated as being gangsta. Make that sht lame. Songs are being made about run the addy spin the block with the Draco cause somebody said something about you on IG. Dudes is on IG self-incriminating themselves with video. Young daughters is out here thinking their first experience with a boy is to be taken to Pound Town. Its sad out here
Glad to see someone on here that can intelligently debate yall, instead of ultimately ending up agreeing with the narrative that "it's fucked up out here and niggas can't change". Bank seems to have a problem for every solution. He's living proof that you can change. He doesn't have to play devil's advocate all the time.
Like Bank said it’s the internet. That type of music been around for awhile but the internet gave everyone access to it including children. It’s the internet fam! The explicit music needs to go back underground and only adults should have access to
The craziest thing is that Lance Un Rivera told Vlad that him and his peers saw that the drug game was dead end in the 80s & decided to get into music. Why is this a conversation 40 years later?
You have a person like K.B and do more talking than allowing him to talk, tell his story and perspective. This could and should have been an awesome interview. Work on your interviewing skills! Ask questions allow the person to respond and ask a follow question based on their responses. This is a bunch of listing to respond.
The answer is God. That’s the convo that needs to be had. The issue is the world will make you feel crazy and tell you God is a make believe entity and good luck with that or that God is okay with absolutely whatever. Anyone who has made it through something and you know it had nothing to do with you but you knew something or someone was at work in your favor knows He’s real. The moral compass of the black community is pointed straight down at this point. Grandma used to drag you to church, teach manners, tell you to love your neighbor, to lend a hand when you had it to spare and sometimes when you didn’t because it was the right thing to do, carry yourself with respect and dignity, etc. Now it’s I’m gonna get mine regardless of how I treat others and I gonna follow whatever trend is hottest. We need to wake up.
When you talk about taste level, the execs openly say that it's not about talent. You expect to get around that with DJs & producers, but they'll say the same thing. Someone has to stand up for the integrity of the music.
TLC ain't got no money because they didn't write their songs. Babyface, Dallas Austin, etc. had to be paid. They had to pay for studio time, hair and make up, etc. It costs to become the blockbuster artists that they became. And they didn't do much writing after they went through that experience either. That's not about Black people being overseers. That's about people not understanding the business, and the same culture glorifying the bag, which influences people to take a big up front loan from a label without understanding what it will cost in the long run. Anyone who had a student loan can give you the same conversation.
It's funny that Kenny Burns is literally saying the exact things that Charleston White says about the culture and now they agree 😂. We can't be grown and defend alotta this stuff because this is the worst era of Black music EVER.
Lil Wayne is who shifted the entire hip-hop culture from his look to all the tats to the way he rapped. I also think ATL has a whole shited the culture not one person from ATL. I will say Gucci and Jeezy shook up ATL and the country. I remember being in Cleveland in the strip club when Gucci or Jeezy came on the entire club went up. Kenny you are way off with your 3 Stacks influenced the culture answer you not even close.
Curse words are words like I hope he don’t make it or do it Wishing someone else don’t make it Also if you acting like a deadbeat daddy then that’s what you are so you should be called that, So if a woman is acting like a bitch then she deserve to be called one..SO THEY DONT BE THAT NO MORE….
Kenny shut down a lot of the bs because she was trying to make too many excuses about why ppl scam and do things like that …around the 15:00 mark or so. The host had points too but at the same time you can tell Kenny is on a whole different level, he’s raw and honest, unbiased too “You literally had Ducktape Records!?” 😂 silence
Wait! did yall just mention Prince name with Sexy Red and try to rationalize it wow. Prince was a top 1,2, 3 talent ever. He would take any dude woman with the crazy pants on. He was a genius who played every instrument and wasnt making vulgar, rachet music. I aint said a word about how Sexy dresses no problem there for me I just think some of her lyrics are degrading. My daughter would not be listening to that and I knew about it. Dude you lost me talking about " Its the same sht" are you fcking kidding me. So in your mind, Prince is the same as Sexy Red. That was a very dumb take. Back then Luke and Too Short were 1% of a style of rap the other 99% back then wasnt talking about that. Nowadays 90% of rap music is fake gangsta and rachet sht and it dominates the game. My question is where do we go from here? We have people scared to have an opinion so they just go along with whatever the popular opinion is.
People don’t want to hear that real truth. This conversation should be up on views. Shits crazy. Much respect to kenny

Being broke is a mentality
The problem is culture, cats was spending everything styling before R&B and Disco was hot. It just gets worst every generation.
The bible say our people will parish from a lack of knowledge 💯

Music still start from the A&Rs. Fire all them and get the real A&rs in the building
Typical DC vs ATL debate. Atl a little behind with their logic and reasoning.
Mfs wanna say we gotta be better as black folk, but a lot of these people be investing in liquor
JAY-Z impacts certain ppl. If JAY-Z IMPACTED the INDUSTRY...There will be NO INDEPENDENT artist. Only ppl waiting on that B
ANDRE 3000. Because anytime someone hears about "ANDRE 3000" they THINK OF CHANGE.
