As a regular traveller on the Central Line that year this brought back memories! I was based out of London Paddington and travelled on a Privcard / free pass on British Rail. But the number of train cancellations into work from Hayes & Harlington during this same year verged on the ridiculous and it made more sense for me to change onto BR at Greenford entailing the Central Line to be used from my 'home' station on there. Only issue was my journey to work began 45 minutes earlier via Greenford ... Probably what turned me into an even more die hard train spotter / basher as I was nicknamed at work!!!
This has got to be the top London Underground, Driver’s Eye View, this was filmed in the heat of the moment because youngsters today would never what it would be like to ride on a vintage tube train, the only similar experience today is the island line on the Isle of Wight on the 1938 stock if they are still running on it idk
Two 1962 stocks still operate on the Central line as Sandite Rail trains. One 5 car unit on the West End and one 8 car unit on the East End. Some got transferred to the Northern line after the 1992 stock took over, forming 3 cars to the 1959 stock formation
The original Central Driver's Eye View was originally released on 13th October 1992. It was credited to the Class 465 trains which entered service on that date.
Those '62 stocks (with proper armrests and transverse seats) look so much more comfortable than the current '92 stock trains. The A stock Met line fleet actually lasted a good 13 years longer than these did!
I May have the 2011 Central Line VIDEO 125 But i haven't got this one yet and boy do i need it and when i listen to that song i feel "right Nicky let's take a long journey through the Northern Line shall well in the Central Line Video 125 (1992) the train was a 1962 Stock in both Northern West end and city we see the exact same train as the 1959 Stock train
Today the central line no longer goes on the ongar line because the heritage line is now taken o er that section of the line and the three stations have since been restored
***** The Ongar Branch is now a vintage railway. To my knowledge it wasn't kept open to serve the bunker. I can ask my mate Chris as he pretty much owns it.
I've got both Central Line DEV's on DVD. The 1962 stock one and the current one. To be honest I prefer the 1962 stock one as it shows the Ongar branch before closure.
You've made a lot of mistakes there June Andrew Belleza A/It's the EAST LONDON & DISTRICT B/It's RICHMOND TO UPMINSTER Ealing Broadway is not in the EL & D it is on the other one the old Metropolitan (H&C) & District to Ealing Broadway from Whitechapel via Hammersmith

The music was specially written by Alistair Collingwood for Central. We also used it on the Northern Line.
Sounds like streets of rage :-)
oh yeah I have listened to that music

Although most people find 1992 stock unattractive, I love those trains a lot! But, I had to admit, 1962 stock were lovely as well!
I've got this one on VHS. It love the Epping to Ongar section recorded for prosperity!

Ashame no one has uploaded this 90min documentary I really enjoy watching these drivers eye view videos.
Mikey 123mc Because it’s still for sale?
Jammin' to the intro music doe.
Didn't know Jonathan Ross drove the Ongar Branch!
He's a very lucky man doing that exclusively rural branch. Nice open countryside.
I thought that driver was his spitting image as well, lol

The stations on the Central line looked so much nicer in the 90s! Especially Shepherds Bush!
RIP Ongar Branch
I bought the original on VHS. Very good

Daniel McCarty I like 62 stock
FUN FACT: The 1992 Stock train began service in 1993 and so on!
Love the Introduction Music, wish it was available to purchase separately
Sounds like Streets of Rage.
Lovely. Reminds me of Sadness by Enigma.

Have that on DVD. Now a collectors item as it was short-lived on DVD format & replaced by an all new version with newer stock trains.
Central Line 1960s Tube Stock

I like the music, it’s so eerie.
You should look up Enigma
I got this on DVD before it was discontinued :) it was the first Video 125 DVD I purchased 3 years ago in Sydney at the ARHS Bookshop
Great video. ☺️
the central line is a London underground line that runs between epping and the destination on the central line
The opening theme on here is also on the Northern line video?
Go to the dedicated website: video125.tv It must be DOT TV and NOT DOT CO DOT UK.
I cant find the link on the website to download this.
I've looked under Underground and £10 or less sections - nothing there.
Is it true the Ongar branch was kept open to serve the nuclear bunker at Kelvedon Hatch?
***** The Ongar Branch is now a vintage railway. To my knowledge it wasn't kept open to serve the bunker. I can ask my mate Chris as he pretty much owns it.
That'll be great, thanks for your reply.
***** No problem mate.
Thanks.
Great DVD a shame that it's only on download, If you want to time warp before 2012 version which is also Great
Do you have the full version of this theme tune? It’s amazing
That's it, the full version, written especially for CENTRAL and therefore no longer than necessary.
Its on the Northern line video

Oh and the last one on the EL & D you've got it the other way round
Thats What I thought too, It seems to be a cross between those two, but its always the obscure one that catch your ears.
O.o there is a mouse at Shepherds Bush Platform!
What song is that
Sounds like an instrumental of Sadness or Return to Innocence by Enigma
I was that i London 1988 , has going with that the older tube (1962 stock)
Indeed. very pretty tune, whatever it is.
Well it's very very nice.
You've made a lot of mistakes there June Andrew Belleza
A/It's the EAST LONDON & DISTRICT
B/It's RICHMOND TO UPMINSTER
Ealing Broadway is not in the EL & D it is on the other one the old Metropolitan (H&C) & District to Ealing Broadway from Whitechapel via Hammersmith
Please can you upload this to TH-cam. Like you’ve done with the northern cit and west end please.
