- iPhone 16 Pro Max has a big problem as the landscape shifts from hardware to software it feels like they’re falling behind. And this could be a much bigger problem than we realize-not just for the iPhone 16 Pro Max but for Apple’s dominance in the high-end smartphone market.

lol coz they marketed something which isn't ready. they tried to trick the audience by adding a button, upgrading the megapixel count of the uw camera but not increasing the sensor size is a joke. Basically nothing new with the 16 Promax that the 15 pro max can't have via software update.

The 16 line had so little to offer that they had to entice users with future promises of software upgrades. The Apple ecosystem is the only thing they have going for them and, while still the best ecosystem experience, is slowly losing ground to Google, Samsung, Microsoft, etc
But fools will still pay for it.

I’ve been using iPhones since the third or fourth generation and have upgraded every year, this is the year I will not be upgrading.
The totally worthless Dynamic Eyesore is still taking up screen space and now we have the gimmick of the completely useless worthless camera button, that’s just my short list of things that have been making me unhappy with Apple over these non innovative years.
Apple has just become a money grab these days and the 16 Series is just an insult to us loyal iPhone users.
I’ll stick with my 15 Pro until the soon to be released Galaxy S25 Ultra comes out.

If you're thinking about switching from the S23 Ultra, here are a couple of things to keep in mind:
1. The battery on the Z Fold 6 isn't as good as the S23 Ultra, but it'll still get you through a day with moderate use.
2. The cover screen is a bit narrower, so you might miss the wider display on the S23 Ultra. But if you're planning to use the inner screen more, it's not a big deal.
If those things don't bother you much, go for it!

Genuine question: Do you think there's a chance Apple is delaying the AI features because they're waiting for the s25 release?
This way they can make sure that the features released are superior to Samsung's?
I think it’s more like still in development and beta. I would say Apple isn’t ahead with some of the AI features compared to google and Samsung’s. That’s why it’s still in beta and they’re hoping to get it public/ mainstream soon as they mentioned. A couple of features that I’ve used namely and mainly photo editing is lacking well behind in comparison to google’s and Samsung’s while some like writing tools or very deeply integrated Siri doesn’t have direct first party competitors.
Honestly, it’s more likely that they’re struggling with getting those features up to par. AI is complicated, and rushing it out with bugs or half-baked features would probably lead to more negative PR than delaying it.

I upgraded from the s23ultra with all the "amazing" AI features to the 16pro max. All those AI features are more or less useless in my opinion. Yeah I was able to use way more features on the S23U but and the end of the day it still remains a smartphone with gimmics called AI.
When I need to use AI i use chatgpt wich is all I need (and for most ppl aswell)
On the Other hand I now have a phone with almost double the battery life, way better cameras and for sure way better camera performance on social media.
Lets be real : The innovation stopped after the S22U / 14PM and is rather a evolution and no AI feature will compensate for that on both companies . AI was just good marketing and thats It

Don’t mislead people. Google still does ai stuff from cloud whereas apple promised to provide on device ai processing which means apple is already ready with the hardware required. But google or any other android phones hasn’t been there yet, it’s the snapdragon 8 gen3 that can do this efficiently which is available only for flagships. We are not sure even tensor 5 would be able to, let alone the other processors. Clearly apple is way ahead in this competition.

I'm not biased towards any smartphone brand. But Samsung who mocks apple and shamelessly copies them has also started to be less innovative. If they continue to be so they'll face this issue in a much worse way. Because brand loyalty for Samsung is far less than apple.
Apple could've improved the hardware and innovate this year, and next year they work on the AI and add it on their phones with the same hardware.
Thats what samsung did with s24 I would say, same hardware as s23 series with some incrmental improvments, but with AI, apple really tried to add "small improvments" by adding a "camera button" just so people would have something new out of the box.
The other big issue is the outdated 60hz displays on their 600 dollar phones, while androids out there for less than half the price of that offer 120hz. And yes, 120hz is a lot smoother and makes the phone usage an overall much better experience.
Meanwhile, I got AI update on my S23 Ultra and I do not need a new phone for another couple of years. Apple is falling behind with everything such as AI, fold phones, display ( $800 phones with 60Hz display in 2024) This company is NOT innovative anymore.
I personally call it false advertisement. Apple should've waited on mentioning AI anything till it was ready to be launched with their phones. Samsung and other Android devices were always ahead of the game when it came to AI features.
Now, I am struggling with a frozen keyboard on iOS 18 beta with Apple Intelligence. I have to switch to Gboard every time. Currently, Apple Intelligence in beta is still not worth bragging about when compared to what Android AI can do. Maybe now Apple is cooking up something big for its AI, or it may just be “meh.” 😂 Someone is under a lot of stress now.

This whole Galaxy AI stuff is blown out of proportions, i have an s23 ultra and if i activate on-device processing only, no AI functions work (no summaries, no editing) it's just gemini rebranded which can run on any device.
The funny thing is, even if they manage to roll out AI features in March, the developers will still be short of time to introduce new features for next year iphone, so to due decline in sales they will either introduce half backed or useless features next year or limit the upcoming/announced features for iphone 16 and introduce those big features in iphone 17 by tweaking or enhaching those features.
I mean, I cant see iphone 17 as a liable option considering the current issues, only iphone 18 might be proper option as apple might face setback for 2 consistent years and will be forced to really innovate and introduce features like 120 hz on base model, 144 hz on pro models along with 5000 mah + battery life, 12-16 gb of ram, ufs 4.2 or 5.1, upgraded chip, along with real innovative features might boost the sales to cover the lost of 2024-2025.
But if only, they really care about losing audience
thats what i said 3 years ago, hardware is gonna reach a bottleneck in 2-5years. i see people complaining about the previous gen of a phone looking the same and im like yeah, unless we have a major breakthrough in material science, there wont be much changes to phones. thats why i think foldables and rollable smartphones might be the way.

Apple really fumbled the marketing this year. How can you not have AI features ready to go on Day 1? Not to memtiom, there are many Android features that are still not present on iOS.
I don't know about new generation of users, those could look at AI features, but existing apple users are already used being behind for years, I don't think they would ever leave apple. Because most don't know how to use an android phone or really aren't even aware of features of them. They think imessages is the greatest app ever invented

I've been saying this for the longest time: there's no need for iterative updates to tech year over year anymore. We've reached a point where hardware improvements are stagnating so these companies need to spend more time on r&d as opposed to re-releasing the same product with a slightly new look and a different number slapped on top of it.

As soon as the phone is ready to ship, Apple rakes in more profits than any other smartphone company. So why not channel some of that wealth into investing in and acquiring AI companies? It seems like a no-brainer if they want to stay competitive in this rapidly evolving landscape. Sure, you can say they are already making some moves in that direction, but it clearly isn't enough. They need to step up their game significantly to keep pace with the competition.
I don't necessarily blame Apple for this slow down in sales. There's no need to undate your phone yearly because even your phone from 3 years ago is performing excellent. They tried to come up with a new product (Vision Pro) but what problem is that solving? None. It's just an expensive screen on your eyes. Apple, Samsung, etc. need to focus on new tech to improve people's lives.
There's no need to buy new phone every year but a lot of people like to.

This could be Apple's "Late but better" strategy. But a slump in iPhone 16 sales is finite. It could mean people are waiting for the AI feature before they buy, or people don't feel the need to upgrade this year. Apple also doesn't have a great friendship with Google like Samsung, they are doing everything solo/in-house with no one else to aid in the heavy lifting of AI. Samsung can make a phone, and while they do offer Galaxy AI, Google is right there with Gemini ready to go. Apple doesn't have that similar partnership.

Yes the overconfident Apple came late to the AI party, and the rumoured falling out with Open Ai makes matters much worse, because Apple Intelligence without Chat GPT is no existent and Apple certainly has no time to build AI from scratch. Impressive, sometimes garish, animations and yet another button panned by many as a gimmick won't be helping them.

Is it worth to get iphone 16 pro max after knowing all the features, functions, chip set, battery and all other stuffs Or to wait for the Samsung Galaxy S25 ultra which will be release in February 2025? S25 Ultra is going to be a better device when it comes to hardware. Software is subjective. Ultimately, it comes down to whether you're ready to switch ecosystems or if you’d rather stick with what you know.
