was that jeep cherokee/comanche (tan pickup)? frankly i was surprised to see Sporatage doing so well off the road. i didnt knew they were full body on ladder frame and Solid rear. off to buy one before last one is sold :P .
I'm in the process of building an 06 Sportage for my overlanding vehicle. my spacers on and now I'm waiting for my new rims and Continental AT's. now I just need to find a different place to put my spare tire and a snorkel.
Thanks for the info, I am considering getting some affordable 4x4 and that KIA with 2.0 16V engine seems to be just fine ;) greetings from Poland@@jecustoms52
@@jecustoms52 Thanks for the response, that was a big help already. I'm new at this so I'd like to know my way around it before I start putting money in lol

Hi there I'm from. Portugal and I never had a jeep in Portugal the only cheap jeep is this one. Do you like it? Do you recommend it? Does give you much problems?
I HAVE A 04 ,I HAVE CHANGED THE ENGINE 2.0 PETROL . BUT I DID A MISTAKE I GOT RID OF THE 4X4 GEAR BOX. PUT HOLLOW RIMS AND THE TYRES R 2 INCHES OUT. I CAN'T GO ON TRAILS LIKE THIS BUT IT RUNS PERFECTLY ON THE ROAD . I HAVE CROSSED 180 KM MARK AND THE HANDLING IS PERFECT BECAUSE OF THE TYRES COMING OUT 3 TO 4 INCH . I KEPT THE TYRE SIZE SAME . I THINK MY ONE IS THE BEST LOOKING SPORTAGE IN TOWN
Bro i love you kia just got one trying to get her started my injectors an pulsing really need help like my comment and I will drop some contact please 😩😮💨

Ahh yeah they’re very different for that generation.
@@jecustoms52 very sadly. What tires are you running?
235/75r15
@@jecustoms52 I'm thinking about getting forceum m/t in that size. Like $380 for all four on Amazon

Hey John, what size tyres are they?
235/75r15 federal couragia m/t
@@jecustoms52 cheers that's the size I've been looking at. Looks good
Dude what spare tire mount is that! it looks good! Is it custom? I'm looking for a swing arm like that for my 06 Sorento
It is factory in on most 1st gen sportages. It is a great factory design.
Always liked the look of the 1st Gen Sorentos
How are the second gens off road? There's one video up on YT of someone taking it up a mountain, still looks pretty capable.
2nd gen were (i think) AWD with no low range and no solid rear axle with locker. inferior in all aspects but MPG and safety.
Sportages have a locking rear differential?
Some rare ones had limited slip rear axles. None came factory with a rear locker.
This is prentice copper state forest correct?
Yea
Where was this filmed?

I got an 06 Sportage recently and wanted it lifted to fit 235 tires. How many inches did u get it lifted and I was wondering where to get the kit?
I needed up at around 3” of lift. The 06 is quite a different animal so I am not well versed on how to lift them. Sorry I can’t be more help.

Btw I forgot to ask if during this time are you still using a spacer or did u switch to suspension lift to get the 3"?
I swapped to springs
