I wish you guys sold the Gruvn Line of pickelball paddles so you would do a review of them. Their quality is top tier and the Gruvn Muvn and Lazr series being as good as anything out there and better than most. The Lazr being my favorite. It could easily contend for top 5 all-court paddle.
Im behind....i love my double black diamond.....plenty of control....great pop....when it breaks in and you add a little lead.....power when you need it....
I bought my wife a Pickleball Apes Pulse V for Christmas. She was more than skeptical and hesitant to make the switch. Her first play date after Christmas changed her mind. It's a great paddle and delivers on the hype.
Luca, I think you should consider commenting on the grip shape and size on the paddles. Coming from tennis background, I started Pickleball two months ago. I got 6 paddles from the same brand, but immediately there are some important differences about the grips: - Slim and round-bevelled ones feel much more maneuverable at the kitchen, since 1) you can switch faster from a forehand to a backhand grip and 2) you can flick-volley (flick the wrist) easier I got a paddle that has a grip shape a la Head's TK82 / Tecnifibre rectangular shape (like an L2 tennis grip size) and this one feels the least maneuverable at the kitchen. Since, the incoming forces of impact are much lower than tennis, I don't see the need for rectangular grip shapes in Pickleball paddles. Slim and completely round or at least square grip shape but still small circumference, do the job great. There's minimal twisting forces in Pickleball and if any, can be fixed with some lead tape.
Luca how do you feel about titanium face sheets for control as opposed to kevlar? Personally I've felt a bit more plushness from titanium that helps me reset and drop. Easiest comparison is the J2k vs J2Ti
J2Ti is definitely more plush compared to the J2K. Love the J2Ti. Im surprise this wasn't on the list as I find it to be easier to control compared to the J2K.
To be honest I don't quite like titanium as much. It's a little bit more muted which I don't love but I think, from an objective standpoint, it probably is at least equal in terms of control. You could slot the J2Ti in at five, no problem.
Great review. I have a question how does this compare to Luxx Control Epic or Mach 2 Forza? I just love luxx and mach2 but feels that its missing some power and looking for little bit more power. Your thoughts please?
The Luxx is amazing. I still use one from the original launch release window (13 months old), and even though the grit has worn off quite a bit, I dominate with it. Still get great spin and placement, reset everything from anywhere, consistently absorb shots from all these Gen 3 paddles, and put away the right ones. It is a paddle that requires more skill, effort and patience, but the payoff and satisfaction is phenomenal.
Remember that whole video comparing the ruby and j2k? And he liked the ruby more... I have a ruby and j2k and can confirm the ruby is better in all aspects especially build quality
I’ve tried most of the control paddles that you mentioned but I think you missed the boat by not including the Volair Mach 2 Forza. Your company sells the M2F and I would rate it as the very best in control. Very curious why you never included it??
I wish I could demo paddles at the store, can we get an Ontario store though lol perferably southern Ontario not in Toronto but south of it would be amazing.
I don’t get why the pulse v keeps landing in control. Mine broke in and I have a bit of weight at the throat and it’s one of the most powerful paddles I’ve hit. Getting comments on my drives every game
Kevlar does crispen up to a point where it's firmer than carbon but it takes a faster swing to get there. It's a bit more plush on soft shots but titanium is probably a little bit softer. The J2Ti could easily be in that fifth spot too.

The Volair Mach 2 forza is not there because not available in your store?
Wondering whether he will reply to your question
Mach 2 forza is so money

Surprised the Ripple isn't this guy's #1 control paddle
Very funny!😂
LOL
What's the ripple?

Banned paddle that will never be released

I agree totally. I’ve got the j2k and the J2TI and the TI is my preferred

Luxx control air with the infinigrit. from the 007.

baby shirt is awesome !!!!!
The luxx is hard to recommend due to the spray on grit
They quickly get worn out. 10 games for me.
Get the Monarch Jellybean and save yourself some money. Trust me.
👏🏻dude..congrats..you have won the ugly shirt game. Love your reviews too.

Thanks for your list. Hudef Mage Pro Gen2 is also a good choice.
How to clean Kevlar paddle?
Brands are saying you can use the same method as for carbon.
Dry then damp microfiber works perfectly fine.
@@RacketsandRunnersPickleball
No do not use the carbon eraser. It will pull out the kevlar strands

He put in the criteria that it can’t be a total control paddle which the M2F is.

It’s not compared to an actual power paddle.
@ I played with the alw-c 12.7mm for a while which is considered a power paddle and my pulse v hits harder with a bigger sweet spot
I wonder where the J3Ti will land on this list....
Weird I feel like Kevlar is stiffer than Carbon fiber to me. And Titanium is softer and more plush than both.

congrats to the B&B Invader
Need a power paddle for people who love to drive .
Would have bought a luxx IF the grid would last.
Luxx is terrible after a month of play with zero spin
the updated model coming out next year will have the new infinigrit texture which lasts way longer than raw carbon fiber
@@Aaron-mn2ro they are making a Luxx with infini grit? Where did you read/hear this?
10:34 get some
Hmmm, I thought J2K is all court instead of control paddle lol
December 2025?
Thank you 😅
