  • Mapping tools have released a couple weeks ago, and despite its numerous quirks, it functions. I used said mapping tools to make this tutorial for a Lua-based recreation of SRB2Kart's Spring Panels.
Moon Panels are basically that, though with some additional functionality to account for RR's new physics. Specific stuff still needs tweaking, and I still need to fix numerous bugs related to the panel functionality itself as well as finish the "Advanced" demonstration.
ACS was used heavily in this demonstration, particularly in the activation of the moon panels themselves, as well as the dialogue and screen messages. Even the waves outside were powered by ACS, though I just copied those from the tutorial including the teleporter scripts :V
    Hopefully more soon.

I always liked how SRB2K's spring panels allowed players to steer around in the air, allowing more fluid mid-air movement especially with the red ones. Good work, man. Looking forward to messing with these in the future.

Really neat idea for a tutorial, as well as the moon panels themselves. One thing I'll point out, though: at 1:08, it would be "flung" instead of "flinged." Nice video overall, though.

    SRB2Kart-style Springs, I see.
Could be a huge help with porting existing Kart Maps to Ring Racers.

I've desperately missed moon springs, it was one of the things I enjoyed the most about the old game, and the devs seem to have adopted a methodology for disposing of bath water, irrespective of the baby still in its vessel. I hope to see some maps with them soon, it'll be like having an old friend coming back to visit~

Thank you so much... seriously I was baffled when they took these out of the game. Looking forward to having these pop up in backports, as well as new custom stages.
