Well back in 90s we couldn't afford even the sleeeper class. So my travel experience is from General compartment which was way more adventurous. For me sleeper class was a rich man's thing and AC class was dream which I didn't even dare to dream. We used to carry just rotis and achar for our 3 day journey. For me when I was 10 years old I had a dream to buy and eat this railway cutlet once in lifetime.. Well times have changed and I am in better days now... This railway cutlet just painted my entire life journey back then... And tonight I will cook this and eat as many as I want... To remind myself of my very humble roots..

My husband loves these railway cutlets..but i never knew how to make these exactly like railways and never thought any chef will give us this recipe😀...thanks for sharing this chef..will try for sure to surprise him...thanks a lot 😊
You know chef... in the journey of life it so happened that opportunity to travel by train became less and less for me... but believe you me recently I had to travel by train and the one thing that excited me and I actually craved for it, was the veg cutlet served in the train as breakfast. I waited eagerly for it to be served like a child awaits a treat... I was back to being a child with a cheeky smile as I dug into it..chef.. you you don't just bring us the recipes, but also some precious memories. . Love you for that

Buying comic books and reading them in my journey fr my grandparents home, is just 1 of my fav memories... I developed reading habit due to those journeys...
I am American and I too have beautiful memories of train trips when I was a child. I loved hearing your descriptions of taking the train in India. Cutlets came together so beautifully.
Train memories... Har station pat bhookh lagti hai Cutlet, small samosa, kheera, oranges, bhel, seeng, chana chat aur jo kuch bhi train mein aata hai... Sab khana hota hai. Ranveer bhai India chhodke 8 saal ho gaye par aapne aisi yaad dilaye ki laga is samay mein train mein hoon...

I know that some of his videos have English, and that I am losing out on the ones without sub titles, but as long as I can experience the actual cooking techniques, I am grateful.

For me train journey is important because my father served Indian railway throughout his life , he retired as a station master and we also enjoyed staying in railway quarters. And yes the railway cutlet has a special taste to it. Now a days cutlets are served during breakfast in most of the Rajdhani trains
I still wait for these cutless oops 😬 cutlets when I go to India. As a student in DU from Patna I’ve eaten them innumerable times but still find the taste so refreshing and novel. I had them on my train journey from Patna to Varanasi in December 2019. After this COVID-19 situation god knows when will I be able to visit India next.
The most memorable part of train journey was to get down at every station and have local food, bharuch seeng, sridhand in Surat, bhajiya in vadodara, mathura peda, Masoor dal pakoras in savai madhpur.... List goes on...

Hi Ranveerji, I tried Cutlets with your recipe and my daughter liked it very much. 😍. I dint had bread crums, so i used powdered chevda/poha. It worked well. Cutlets made my day with smile and full tummy of my daughter. 😊. Thanks for the recipe 💐
Chef u made me remember my childhood railway journeys..As my nanaji was in railway job we use to travel a lot in railways. And sabse jada interest humko hota tha ki pantry kaisi hai toh nanaji hume leke ghumate Thai..Vo din hi kuch alag Thai... cutlets, chay, bread omlet ...ahhhh.... I made these today, ty they brought back so many lovely railway memories. They tasted exactly like the Railway Station cutlets. I like your amiable style of cooking which helped me to not be nervous and actually try the recipe. Looking forward to many more of your videos.
Hello Chef, I tried this recipe today. It came out so well and filled up my soul with happiness and boosted my mood and refreshed me. Thank you Chef for sharing the recipe.
Dadar - Nagpur Sewagram Express used to halt at 4 PM at Nashik in my childhood days. It reached Bhusawal junction at around 9. We always...ALWAYS had our dinner just before the station and used to be ready with our berths set up. We then had the typical platform wala bread omelette and I used to then look out of the window to count all the locos at rest in the loco sheds as the train departed the station. There used to be atleast 30 shining red and yellow locos sleeping or about to sleep. Will never forget those memories.
Reminds me of Rajdhani and Shatabdi express trains where you open your eyes first thing they will serve you in morning is dip tea and cutlets with bread and butter for breakfast. Time moves so fast we just get older.
This lad has the capacity to make my day.the train journeys wd my father on each summer vacations ...and these cutlets were just awsm.thank you bachcha to give me such a nostalgic memory.
Jo maza train journey Ka hai WO Maza flight me Nahi hai... I still prefer train over flight and people call me old school...but train journey is a nostalgic feeling
I love the traditional things we get on the train. Samosas, cutlets, omelettes, Curd rice, Veg meals, Banana fry(in Kerala) and the Tomato soup :) Pleasant things to have on short journeys. And the steaming tea at 6AM. Thanks for these recipes chef :)

Train journeys the only place where I go for a veg option of cutlet rather than a non-veg option of omelette. The taste is just so delicious and unique.
Sir u are god gifted chef for us. I just can't explain my feelings on this recipe. I'm literally getting to cry because in train mummy and daddy were not allowing me to eat those all chats,so thank you so much for sharing this recipe sir. 🙂❤❤
I used to eat railway cutlet in VT station (now CST station) restaurant on 1st floor I believe it was. the cutlets used to be served hot and crispy with yummy tomato ketchup.Even foreign tourists used to stop by and eat there. That was also my late fathers office in the Main Rly bldg.Below is the CST station which is the hub of Railways. Chef you brought million memories with the 5 things you shared of Indian Railways Journey.
As usual aapki recipe jabardasta... N with story it's like sone pe suhaga. This is my story. NCC all India trekking camp in 1989... Held in Ooti...we 14 girls from Mumbai with PTO boarded train....only 2 berths n 6 Seats among 15 with our big bags.... We were feeling so free... Somewhere in the midnight reached Coimbatore.. Next train was at 6.....we had not slept properly for 2days.... We spread newspaper n slept on the platforms... It was the best time.
chef I m honestly telling that in previous 5 days I'm searching about train style cutlet but I doesn't get any videos right...and u make me surprise by this.... How did u know??😂
Thank you RB, for making us realize that even the simplest dishes can be made interesting if we have the heart that beats only for food. And also big thanks for the nostalgia elements in your various historical recipe videos ;)
I remember those chaiwalas who use to roam around chanting 'chai chai chai.....' looking at everybody...if u don't give them a look back they would simply continue chanting.....but by any chance somehow if u give them a look back and even for a glimpse u have an eye contact with them...they would suddenly stop.....pin point a finger at you and ask "Chai?"🤣
Most important cutlets, crazy about them still... had several train journeys and nothing like it. Then we 3 sisters will get togather in connaught place, at the old Handloom house adjoining their restaurant where they made delicious cutlets .... love these cutlets, now living in UK n will make this recipe after ages. Those memories.... ah ha.... thanku Ranveer Paji.... tusi great ho❤❤❤❤❤
I mean really how could u be teacher, stress remover,so simple but amazing entertainer, food ka doctor mind reader, great observer, so knowledgeble and obviously the best chef ever...i mean no one can be like you....kyu...hai ki nahi....hhai na ❤️❤️❤️
Reminds me of 2010 when I was only 8 years old going to Kolkata via Shatabdi Express from Bhubaneswar....It's like a perfect gift for unravelling those old days through some lip smacking recipes..... Pure Love💙💙
You are the "supreme commander" of the food world!!! A perfect case study for the entire young generation to study and learn as to how to love the profession you had chosen !!!
You bring so much life to your recipes.. the small tricks, key points, related stories and amazing recipes.. So much goes into the making of these videos.. Thank you Chef Ranveer for being alive and creating such wonderful recipes 🙏🏻💕
Love your lively presentation - both the video as well as the item of food. For me the best part of a railway journey was to climb onto the top berth, sleep, wake up, come down to eat and drink whatever I wanted, then clamber up again and go to sleep again. :-D
He is so rich in knoweldge about food and its connections. How he creates story of each receipe and connects with roots is not less than a magic. This video took me to the memory lane back to 90s when we use to trave only in general or sleeper class in train and waited deparately for cutlets. Even I used to know ki kis train kya special milega. Its a long list but i will stop here. Chef ranveer you are awesome magical storyteller.
I was not so fond of cooking but the way to just put some story put there and all your efforts to find the history of food makes is so much fascinating...you are amazing chef
In our time, the train’s “dining car” staff and the vendors called it “cutliss”. “Like chaae, chaae, chaae”, it was “cutliss, cutliss, cutliss”. . I’m a senior citizen. Haven’t travelled in a train in over 30 years now. Perhaps some day I will. I still miss my mother’s poori, aloo ki rase wali sabzi and aam ka achaar. This was her standard menu when traveling by train.
Ranveeeer, absolutely LOVE your videos! These are incredibly meditative - a great way to wind down after a hard day's work. I have started cooking with your voice in my head - trying to have the same passion as you with food. It makes it less of a chore and more of a romantic hobby.
I am eagerly waiting for the show MasterChef India this year...as I expect that Ranveer sir would be quite lineant this year as of last year because I can see a humbleness in his way of speaking now .
Chef you made my family's day with this recipe. You really make people travel back in time. I made this recipe today for iftaar and oh my god! No words. You're a gem 💎! Thank you Chef!
The first thing that comes to mind is Are you a Master Chef OR a Food Encyclopedia Or A Master Story Teller. Truly a LIVING LEGEND. PAAJI TUSI GREAT HO.👌👌👌🤗🤗

Train journeys the only place where I go for a veg option of cutlet rather than a non-veg option of omelette. The taste is just so delicious and unique.
Cooking is an art as well as science, and you prove it.
Apart from cooking look how observant this person is if not a chef he could easily be a storyteller or even an actor , that smirk of his.
Sir u are god gifted chef for us. I just can't explain my feelings on this recipe. I'm literally getting to cry because in train mummy and daddy were not allowing me to eat those all chats,so thank you so much for sharing this recipe sir. 🙂❤❤
He is gifted 😊
Of course 😊
You remembered me my train journeys
I used to go every Summer vacation at my uncle's house
Just missing this year 😭🙈
Love the way you cook with simplicity and tell us the stories behind the cook. Makes it all the more interesting ❤️
chef I m honestly telling that in previous 5 days I'm searching about train style cutlet but I doesn't get any videos right...and u make me surprise by this.... How did u know??😂
😁😁
Every time the train was late and you had a genuin reason for not having to work that much longer. The most relaxing time ever.
Thank you RB, for making us realize that even the simplest dishes can be made interesting if we have the heart that beats only for food. And also big thanks for the nostalgia elements in your various historical recipe videos ;)
Recipe mast
I remember those chaiwalas who use to roam around chanting 'chai chai chai.....' looking at everybody...if u don't give them a look back they would simply continue chanting.....but by any chance somehow if u give them a look back and even for a glimpse u have an eye contact with them...they would suddenly stop.....pin point a finger at you and ask "Chai?"🤣
I'm visually reading a comment 😂
Really miss those days when we are excited for long train journeys and the food on platforms they were simple yet tasty 😋
Btw i have worked with you as a trainee in Novotel mumbai
Same here...
Yayyyy... “cutles “ has always been my favourite thing during train journeys. I ll definitely try this one. Thanks.
Pure Love💙💙

It's His pure simple genuine loving passion which spreads that happiness
You are the "supreme commander" of the food world!!! A perfect case study for the entire young generation to study and learn as to how to love the profession you had chosen !!!
You inspire me to cook every time I see you also you make it look so simple!! Purani yaade taza hogai!! Lots of love 💕
Nostalgic memories refreshed, chef!
My best train journey memory is of Karnavati Express where we awaited for Cutlets to be served in the train.
Made this recipe today... N as usual turned out to be first class....any dish made after following your steps never goes wrong... Tysm❤
Perfect description of train journey-my favorite mode of transportation
Ranveeeer, absolutely LOVE your videos! These are incredibly meditative - a great way to wind down after a hard day's work. I have started cooking with your voice in my head - trying to have the same passion as you with food. It makes it less of a chore and more of a romantic hobby.
OMG, I am freaking out! I got a like from the Chef himself...fangirl for life!
EATING is NECESSITY but COOKING is an ART
I am eagerly waiting for the show MasterChef India this year...as I expect that Ranveer sir would be quite lineant this year as of last year because I can see a humbleness in his way of speaking now .
Chef you made my family's day with this recipe. You really make people travel back in time.
I made this recipe today for iftaar and oh my god! No words. You're a gem 💎! Thank you Chef!
