I really like how he pointed out God’s wonderful grace, blessing us, fulfilling all our needs, and sparing our worthless, rebellious lives for all these years and giving us the gift of salvation. Our only right response is to live for Him out of gratitude for what He has done, not only out of the fear or judgement or wanting to appear religious to others. That statement definitely stood out to me. We are all poor with nothing to offer God, but blessed are those who know they are poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven (Matthew 5:3).
