I thought the synthesis isle rewards sucked too, but you actually get small rewards for every single exchange, and they add up pretty decently.
Yesterday I told my guild to Zero my account in the event so I can leave the Game but the Forced me to keep playing for some more time I guess that's the only reason I play this game
