I started out with a 105 Wilson Hyperion and played with it for a long time and improved from 0 to 3.5 with it. Lately, with more confidence in my game, I've moved up to a Pro Staff 97 and the directional control is incomparable to my previous racquet. But I could have never started playing the game with the 97 because I would've got frustrated and quit.
I started playing over 40 years ago with a small wood racquet and gradually bumped my way all the way up to a 110 stick. I stopped playing a few years for medical reasons, and when I picked it back up I went with a 107 and things started clicking for me. I was looking for ways to improve my game, so I went down to 98 and 100s, and it helped with swing speed on groundies and serves. Even though I'm approaching 70, I'm not ready to go back to a big racquet, and in fact I'm thinking about trying a 95. So, just because you are playing at a certain level and you are getting older, it doesn't mean that you are stuck there, and maybe going smaller will help you achieve your goals if you are willing to develop your technique.
I used a head youtek prestige mp that was listed at 98 and I loved it. I currently use the head graphene touch prestige mp which is listed at 95 ( head was earlier incorrectly measuring from the frame and not the strings). So they are essentially the same size. I'm a flat hitter who likes precision so it seems to go with my game. When I compared it to other 98 sq inch sticks, they looked identical in size.
Would love to see a review of the newer head prestige mids/rev pros, especially the Touch. Like the 93P, to me it is a modern mid that allows you to produce similar output as a Babolat with a more classical balance and weight.

I still use my IG Prestige MPs from 2010. It's too much work looking for new racquets. I have Head Pros from the 1980s as well but haven't used them in ten years. Those are 65 square inches.
does a bigger head size really mean a bigger sweet spot??? Wilson Burn 95 countervail has a bigger sweet spot than almost any racquet from 97-100. Source: tenniswarehouse university compare racquets tool
tool not that accurate, just think about it logically big head size mean more space so sweet spot should also scale up to be bigger than a smaller head size, that is the general idea
c p Its the racquet that decides how easily you can swing it rather than the string. With string one gets control, power, comfort, spin but not manuverability or stability.

We used to see 110 on the pro tour back in the 80s (Chang, Sabatini) but use faded in the 90s-00s.

I started with a 90sq.. I honestly think it made me better overall. I play with a 95 now
I have a 90 now and want a 95. My opponents have 100 and can push/retrieve everything
What would be a good racket head size for a 13 year old
100-110 head size, that age should be around tweener so 100 sq in racket around 10 oz would be ideal
220-230 head size, balanced to the head, full power a total beast ready to destroy

The VCORE 95 actually plays more like a 98 due to the Isometric head shape.

I think it’s important to discuss which string pattern is more maneuverable 16x19 vs 18x20

I’ve always used between a 90 and 95 Square inch Head, I play better using a smaller head.
