Great video. You answered a lot of my questions in your video but I have a couple more questions. With the Garmin Glo in the box does it limit how many satellites you receive? You said you mount the box with the Glo on your roof. Do you mount it inside the buggy or outside? Have you ever lost satellite reception?? Thanks looking forward to the answers.
Im not very tech savy so how about a little guidance. I purchased a Samsung A7 lite and the Glo2. I try to link them and my tablet says they are paired bit the Glo2 still has a flashing blue light. Is this normal? Also, how the heck do i know that the Gaia app is linked up with the Glo2? I cant find anything on the Gaia app that allows to manual connect it. Could really use some guidance. I can provide cell number if thats easier. Thanks
In this case there are two types of galaxy A8 tablets, one that is wifi only with no gps and one that says lte, the lte has built in gps. It has a sim card slot. How ever, i can 100 percent confirm the 2019 tab A8, model 290, wifi only, does have built in gps chip. I use it with onyx, alltrails and google maps.
even if it didnt you should be able to connect a cheap external gps unit to whatever tablet you have and use that as your gps source. should be able to find that in settings within most of the apps you use for navigation. some like GIS software probably would be a better experience when hooked to an expensive gps unit like the Trimble R1 that has accuracy of less than a foot.
Does your tab a have external storage meaning like for a micro SD card I found one for a good price but it's only a 64 GB would that be enough to download all the apps and save maps to it as well or would I be better off buying one that has external storage as well
I have an older Tab A and the GPS works fine without wifi, Google maps just can not get sat images. Just fired it up in my living room with the wifi turned off and it connected to 8 GPS and 5 GLONASS satellites. But the external GPS mounted on the roof will get better signal.
So what happened to the Magellan TRX? You have completely changed your view on these GPS's. In the Magellan TRX review you said it was a hassle to down load the maps into a tablet, now you say the opposite that it is very easy to down load maps into a tablet. Are you going to do a follow up review of the Magellan TRX and tell people why you do not use it anymore? what was wrong with it?
Thank you for that . Just purchased it all. For a colorado
adventure. Would love to see how you mounted it all, still struggling with that.
How cool, I use to work at valley cycle. I worked there for 5 years. Great friendly people.

what size gorilla box, it comes in standard or X large?
I thought the tab A had gps chips built in.
Yes only works if you have wifi
It does but needs Wi-Fi to work
Would this work for Navionics app? Was thinking about rigging up on my quad for ice fishing. I already have a pad no one uses.
Thanks for the info
Will this same gps setup work with an iPad?
Yes
What type of box is that? Do you have a link?

When new technology arises we take advantage of it and no reason just new technology
Also Pat we were told Magellan would not have satellite view anymore and would no longer support the unit.
