Whoever set the balance between these two magnificent instruments and the acoustics of the venue is a genius.
*INSIDE ME* there is a small boy who listened to an orchestral arrangement of this great piece (in 1957 or so) on a monaural, 78 RPM record player, over and over again. It was one of my earliest exposures to classical music. This is a fabulous arrangement using the great mimicry powers of the organ balanced with the precision of the piano. Thank you for this wonderful performance that triggered happy memories.

I really enjoy how they trade the main melody line back and forth. This is especially well done in Anitra's Dance.

Having just discovered this channel within the past couple of weeks, in the depths of pandemic hell, it feels weird to look this far back in the catalog and see the brothers performing to a hall that isn't empty. It's like a strange glimpse into a parallel universe where those seats in concert halls are actually _for_ something. :)

I missed this concert at the beautiful Victoria Hall in Hanley, so it's a real pleasure to watch this video and listen to this great arrangement which captures all the drama of this work.

I bought really good speakers and have super fast internet. Probably a good thing since I listen to the Scott brothers EVERY day! They are my addiction! I am adding to my CD collection and will send a donation from time to time. I never really had any desire to go to Europe before but they have almost changed my mind. I wish I was younger so that travel wouldn't be such an issue! I never entertained the thought of going to the Open Championship the two years that my son played. Once was at Carnoustie in Scotland but the other was at Royal Birkdale, not too far from Manchester! There probably wouldn't have been a concert but I would have been happy sitting on the sidewalk listening to them practice in their home music room!! I love organ and piano but harmonium and piano works too!!

Come to Korea - Please, Show them how it is done. Difficult to find a good organ were but there are a very few. These people play like metronomes note by note exactly as it is written. They would never think of playing music like this. (Likely they could not)

Morning mood is a classic case of a composer writing a magnificient piece that totally misses the point.
The scene this piece is the prelude to takes place in the desert. But does that sound like a desert morning to you?
