I’m pretty sure they would be, they sort of do, in the end Thomas tells Martha that in the main universe Bruce follows in his footsteps and she asks if he became a surgeon, which clearly isn’t the case, not just that but I personally think he genuinely doesn’t want to kill, first it goes against his morals, he wouldn’t want to be judge, jury and executioner, he just wants to do heat he believes is his part to help others and the city he loves, he’s also stated before he knows if he crosses that line he would never be able to go back, after all, if he killed the joker, why not Zsaz? Why not two face or penguin? Idk, I think that’s sn interesting take, but despite all his flaws, which he has plenty, I think when it comes down to it, Bruce Wayne is a good man, I’m not saying Thomas is bad, I just think in this he’s lost any reason to save others as Bruce would since that night he lost his child and the woman he thought he would spend the rest of his life with despite the good he would do for Gotham.
Also in some versions Thomas was somewhat Corrupt and Martha has Mental issues so yeah had Bruce Died this would happen more times than not, Imagine the Punisher and Joker each have Billions of dollars.
And we get a Martha Wayne Joker who learns the Joker in Bruce Wayne universe is a man. Flashpoint Batman is my second and Owlman my third batman counterpart.
The Flashpoint story is both interesting because it not only brought Barry Allen a spotlight… but also the themes of time travel can lead to devastating consequences such as Thomas Wayne is Batman but Bruce Wayne died.
Grand pa Bats is in some versions not really very nice if not implied to be Corrupt so yeah Flashpoint Bats turning into Punisher Bats makes a whole lot of sense.
I'm waiting for the day that an alternative timeline Batman, Thomas Wayne, joins the Bat Family... it wouldn't be the first time that someone from a destroyed timeline (universe) defected to the main one.
I want an animated movie where Bruce meets his dad both of them are Batman Bruce sees how his dad's methods of dealing with crime are different from his own. And Thomas's reaction to seeing Alfred, his grandson Damien & Bruce's adopted sons Dick, Jason, Tim & the rest of the Bat Family Thomas embraces Alfred & thanks him for raising & taking care of his son. Plus Thomas meeting the JL he's already met Barry.
We need a black label movie about this. Just call it Thomas get someone like Christa Dolan to do it. Don’t do any flash stuff but showing the grief of a broken man who’s everything he loved
